The breakfast was tasty and presented very nicely. The Inn and the room itself had a lot of character. The staff was very nice and personable.
I think the windows are single paned and, in our room which faced the harbour, the outside noise, particularly the construction work across the street, really effected the experience.

From check-in to check-out the staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The breakfast was beyond satisfying and delicious. The presentation of the dining experience was elegant. The dining areas were inviting and encouraged lingering with your conversation. The location was withing walking distance to the Black Ball ferry and other sites in the Downtown area. The staff carried our luggage up and down the stairs.
There wasn't anything I didn't like. It was a wonderful getaway for two.

all of the staff were super welcoming, the room was very cozy, and I loved the decor of the entire place, everything was perfectly on theme. The complimentary breakfast and afternoon tea were incredible (tea was a little expensive, just over $100 for 2 people, but a really good experience I would recommend trying it once). the location is AMAZING we walked almost everywhere.
Parking was a little pricey, especially considering the lot was pretty empty the entire stay. One of the electric window shutters in our room only closed halfway which was a little annoying but everything else was fantastic, no other complaints.

I loved the uniqueness of the individual rooms. The old fashioned hotel and the respect for the original architecture was clear but it also helped that the room had modern amenities. The atmosphere was exceptional, the staff were so lovely and accommodating and the breakfast was delicious.
The bed was quite hard, and it would be ideal if there were some more a la carte breakfast options

This is my second time in Victoria but I’ve stayed in 4 different hotels for various reasons on the island and always wanted to stay here!!
I was so hesitant because I’m usually not your typical posh preppy person but I felt SO welcome and at home here! I slept the best I’ve ever slept at any hotel, they had amazing tea and an experience beyond any other, truly warm and wonderful staff and amazing food on the ground level. P.S. the only hotel that has a darker color makeup towel available right on the vanity extra stars for knowing we aren’t all white towel white sheet kind of people! I felt so silly for assuming such a nice hotel would judge. They didn’t judge one bit.
If you are hesitant for any reason to book here, don’t hesitate in the future! I felt like any other guest and it was such a wonderful night. I should have stayed all of my nights here!

This classic historical Inn was the perfect stay in beautiful Victoria. This heritage building with lovely tearoom, antique furnished rooms & beautiful exterior lighting at night was exactly what we were looking for to celebrate my 60th birthday. The high tea breakfast that was including was outstanding. We also spoiled ourselves with the afternoon high tea in the quaint tearooms in the downstairs area. We stayed on the second floor in the Pendray room with beautiful views over the inner harbour.
Our room was on the second floor, and we knew this at booking, we had large bags however we did get assistance to take them up the stairs. The beautiful timber antique stairs were no problem once our bags were in our room. Actually, a lift in this building would spoil the historic feel of staying here.

The older of the two breakfast servers was very hostile and ot very nice in her mannerism.
i didnt like the breakfast, the weirdest serveive every had, we both picked 2 different choices but came out like we were being served afternoon tea on a 3 tier platter, i didnt know and told this is his on this side and this is yours on this side and walked off. i didnt know what i was eating and ended up eating my partners stuff and vice versa, it was very small portions, i didnt feel very full at all, the teapot went cold quickly and when said the tea was very luke warm the server never bothered to offer or bring me any hot water or replacement teapot. everything seemed too much for her and she seemed like she was in a bad mood.
honestly cereal and toast would have been much nicer and simpler, and filling.

Room and bathroom quite cold and draughty. Price you pay for an old building full of character.

It is a lovely historic house with a great location and wonderful tea.
We had an attic room and no elevator which isn’t ideal for the way I pack. I only hit my head once.

Beautiful old heritage building, large bedroom and excellent location. Excellent breakfast provided . Emmerson on front desk reception was courteous and friendly.
No lift. We had to carry our bags up two flights of stairs. There was a lot of noisy construction across the road for the new ferry terminal. Certainly not the harbour view we booked! It was a demolition site!
Would have been nice to offer free parking as compensation

Beautiful Victorian (as in Queen Victoria) hotel with period features throughout. Only 10 en-suite bedrooms on two floors, reached by staircases (no elevators). Great friendly, knowledgable and helpful staff. Complimentary breakfast served on a cake stand with a vast choice of teas.
Great location
Bathroom in room 8 has a hip bath with hand held shower under a restricting sloped ceiling: difficult for tall guests

Fantastic quirky hotel that provides an exceptional service. Breakfast was lovely and the cream teas looked amazing. The location was perfect with all the main attractions being about 15 minute walk.
With no elevator the top floor was a challenge with large suitcases

Totally different to normal hotel but was great with super beds and loads of room. Excellent location.
Know it was fitting with the property was bath / shower was a bit of a pain. Small issue though.

Comfy bed, very warm welcome. Delicious breakfasts included. Great to stay in a bit of history right in the centre of town.
We had room 2 over the kitchen and the extractor fan turning on at 6.30am every day woke us up, be warned. Signing rules about smoking and pets seemed excessive. Paying for parking in their own carpark is odd, why not include in the room rate?

The heritage aspect of the Inn was wonderful.
The included breakfast was great.

This historic and ornate establishment served one of the best breakfast I’ve had. It was presented in tiers, just like afternoon tea.
We kept shorting the fuse by running the air conditioner and hair dryer simultaneously.

The property is a beautiful one and very individual. It is in a good location being only a short walk to the main city area of Victoria but very quiet.
The staff here were not as pleasant as at all the other hotels we stayed at on our travels through Canada. We didn’t like that at 9am whilst you’re eating your breakfast, tables are being moved around you for their afternoon tea service. It felt rude and unnecessary at that time. The breakfast menu was very different and although we enjoyed it we heard a fellow diner who was vegetarian for alternatives, but it didn’t sound as this could be easily accommodated. The afternoon tea was pleasant and priced fairly.

I liked the location - cute neighbourhood and a short walk to the harbour and downtown. We also enjoyed the breakfast that was included in our stay.
Of course we knew when booking that the building was old and historic (a reason we chose it actually!) but we also expected it to be well-kept and clean, which it was NOT. We stayed in the Amelia Jane Suite and it had three very visible mouse traps in it, which is definitely not what someone wants to see when staying in their hotel room (and an expensive one at that - $500+ for one night). There was also garbage left under the bathroom sink, the room and bathroom were covered in dust, and it was very warm and stuffy due to there being no A/C.

The location is great. The staff were excellent. They were very helpful. The breakfast room is incredible and the breakfast was a 5 star quality. I would highly recommend this beautiful Victoria Inn.
There was nothing I did not like.

The location is superb and the house has some excellent features - wrap around verandas, stained glass and wood paneling. The staff were also very-friendly.
Pendray House has seen better days. The carpet in our room had wine and other stains. The wallpaper in the bath was peeling and the grouting discolored. We kept our socks on - it is time for a deep refresh. We had a sea view but only if you stood up.

I love the traditional house, staff are so friendly and service minded.
Breakfast and afternoon tea are perfect
Since it is old house, I smell badly of pipe. And there are some birds singing in the night. There is no air con in some room. The carpet of room smell some stinky.
