The stuff went out of their way to make sure we were well cared for. I was celebrating a milestone birthday and enjoy the spa and tea service as a part of my stay. They messed me feel special and were genuinely warm and welcoming.

I cannot rave our trip and the hotel enough: we were treated like royalty every second, I’ve never experienced service like this, and I travel often. Well, well worth the price. Special shout out to Andrew who was our server for our last supper. SO kind and funny, helped us piixk a perfect supper, so attentive. Unfortunately I didn’t get names for all the staff we interacted with, but seriously… amazing across the board

Check in process was not very smooth - had to stand in line twice because I never received a text with my room number when we prechecked in. Room didn't have robes or slippers for pool area - housekeeping remedied that quickly, though. Splurged and got a "harbor view King", and the "harbor view" was technically there, but we were on the second floor so it was mostly a tree view.

I had the most incredible experience celebrating my birthday at the Fairmont! From the moment I arrived, the service was top-notch. They surprised me with a free room upgrade and even sent up a bottle of champagne to celebrate — such a thoughtful touch! The staff went above and beyond to make the day feel extra special. The room was beautiful, the views were stunning, and every detail was perfect. I truly felt pampered and appreciated. Thank you, Fairmont, for making my birthday unforgettable. I’ll definitely be back!

Whining fridge in room very loud. Maintainance had a look and stopped it but then it started again. So we had to unplug. No creamer for coffee. Room a little shabby. Charged for valet parking but had to go get car as there was a parade.

This was a very special stay for us. My wife and I were traveling with my Brother and his wife for a vacation. We only spent (1) night there due to budget constrains, but it was well worth it. My wife and sister-in-law really enjoyed “High Tea” the next day and my brother and I explored the area and had a great luck at an Irish Pub nearby. The location is great. Walking to restaurants, shops, Parliament Building (take a tour) and Whale Watching tours docks. We had a great time and I would highly recommended staying here, even for (1) overnight.

Fantastic location, and excellent service. Like all Fairmont's, the Empress has the same service we’ve come to expect, but the added location makes it even better. Would definitely recommend to anyone coming to Victoria to stay here. I think it’s one of the most famous hotels in Victoria.

The property was nice, safe, and beautiful but our room’s heating/cooling system made a loud noise each time it turned off. It was loud enough to wake me up throughout the night. There was also paint bubbles around the system’s wood case which might be either a bad paint job or possibly the beginnings of mold??

The Empress is just what one would expect from this very special chain of hotels - elegant, historic, classy, with excellent staff (particularly in the Gold level). Sometimes, hotels are simply locations which one uses as a base for activities; although the Empress was at the centre of activities, the lounges were so inviting and relaxing that we had to question whether we just wanted to sit and relax or go sightseeing; we ended up going out a little less and sitting back and doing nothing just a little more.
