Great location, free breakkie and dinner is great, rooms are spacious, plenty of bathrooms

Need bath mats or something in the bathrooms as they get very wet and slippery. Could do with paper hand towels too as it’s hard to remember to take your own towel with you every time. The rooms are hot too and stuffy we had the window open but outside is super noisy so it’s deciding which you’d all rather

Location was great, right near Chinatown, and the stay included one complimentary drink per guest in the evening. Good thick blanket and decent locker space. Staff is nice. The common kitchen space was pretty clean. A small fridge inside the room for guest beverages was a nice addition. Each bed had curtains you could pull all around for a bit of privacy. As far as hostels go the cleanliness was super acceptable.

Rooms were really small and the beds were really cramped in there, at least in the 4-bed room. The top bunk was almost as high as the ceiling so you could barely sit up on the top bed. The acutal bed size was standard hostel size, but the rooms were so small there was no space to hang anything, set anything down, or a place to even stand around to get changed, open a suitcase, etc. Breakfast was very limited, a few bread options and a couple of jams, coffee, not much else. The lock for the locker was not included, you had to pay a deposit fee for it (only $10 CAD, which you got back after but only in cash) which was not expensive but it was inconvenient. I did not want to get cash back so I didn't end up using a lock. The common areas were small and always busy. It was overall a good stay but at $60-70 CAD a night I would say it charges more of a "premium" hostel price for a very basic hostel stay. Still, it being the only hostel in Victoria I would say it's a decent option if you want to stay downtown while on a budget.

The curtains around the bunk beds and having a fridge in the room and a window that could be opened. They provided a dinner and a breakfast. Simple but good. Good beer selection.. And a happy hour. Kitchen was really big with lots of sinks and composting and equipment. Stainless steel made it feel clean.

Dark, old everything. Lumpy bed.
