Staffs are friendly and very nice. Fatemeh is one of the recipients, who is so polite and helpful.
Perfect location to reach out everywhere easily. It is surrounded by many nice shopping centers and restaurants.

We didn’t use the restaurant on the lobby for breakfast but the hotel was very good very clean and check in was very easy and clear. The rooms were very good and clean and equipped.
The quality of the coffee wasn’t good and it wasn’t tasty.

Everything was wonderful. Rooms seemed freshly renovated and very clean.
Not much parking space for larger vehicles

It’s a one bedroom suite versus a regular hotel room. Nice shower head and great water pressure. My suite is at the 4th floor (top floor).
None.

Stayed here several times and I got the best room I’ve had on this trip, large and roomy overlooking the pool. Beds are very comfy and great pillows.
Said restaurant would give a 10% discount but they didn’t seem to be aware of that.
Rooms can be noisy with the comedy club busy on Wednesday nights and weekends .

Easy access to downtown (with a car), complimentary parking, super friendly and helpful staff, lovely popcorn in the multimedia room!
Very bright lights in the bedroom. It’d be great to have some soft lighting when getting ready for bed, rather than startling, super bright daylight illumination.

the rooms are well appointed and bathrooms have been renovated beautifully.

The room was beautifully renovated. The walk in shower was especially nice. The bed, pillows and comforter were comfortable and cushy

It is an older building but nicely updated. It has more character than newer hotels. Nice that it has an adjacent diner. The room we had was a large suite with was stocked well, even a kettle for someone who loves tea. We requested blankets rather than duvets and the staff was very friendly and quick to respond. We found the nights were very quiet even though it’s located near an urgent care centre.

There was a lot of space; having access to a small kitchen was great - the beds were a little creaky but comfortable - but I basically had a small apartment to myself which was nice. Free wifi is always helpful.
i didn't like that there is a pub right next door and people were yelling in the parking lot which made it difficult to sleep. I'm also wondering if there is an alternative to the kurig coffee makers that would produce less plastic waste.

Not typical hotel (seemed like apartments )

Not a lot! Claiming to be a boutique hotel was so ridiculous! Cases of beer in the hallways, all cosmetic renovation with lots of paint, old electrical covered up with poorly made cover!
The parking lot was terrible & our rental car was damaged which cost us $1100! The staff were pretty nonchalant…barely spoke to us! Lot’s of sketchy people hanging around…didn’t feel safe outside at night!

Easy to get to on public transport. Bar underneath,
Breakfast restaurant.
The Toilet broke.

The beds were comfortable and the room was large. The staff were good about locking up our bikes when we weren't using them. The cleaning staff did a Goud job.
The bathroom door didn't close all the way. The hotel was noisy both from inside and from street noise. Having a bar and liquor vendor attached was part of the noise issue.

Love the atmosphere, friendly staff and clean rooms. Appreciate how the staff go above and beyond to ensure that they can meet your needs
Only thing that was a bit of an inconvenience was the inability to leave electric bikes locked up outside in a place we could access during the late night / early morning hours.

The outside (area, parking lot, building) did not match the inside. The renovations were actually impressive it looked really nice inside. The movie and games room were a nice touch. I did not eat at the diner but it looked cool. The staff was really understanding when I complained about my loud neighbors but didn't offer me anything. The mentioned they would have moved me had I complained in the moment ( I complained when I left). Despite smelling old I felt everything was clean.
The area seemed a bit shady. Pub and liquor store out front. Parking lot was well lit which helped but I felt a bit uneasy coming in so late. The hotel inside seemed renovated but smelled like an old building. Same with the room looked great but smelled old. My neighbors partied and smoked weed all night so that was not awesome. The reviews are really good so I felt confused when I arrived in the parking lot. But they did a decent job inside.

Love the property. The pool, although warmed was a bit on the cool side. Comment comment from the guests. Daily popcorn at 5 PM was a lovely treat. Staff were extremely helpful and courteous. Loved the concept of the optimism room. This place would be 10 out of 10 if it had a hot tub.
I found that the shower mounted shampoo was watered down so much that I was not able to lather my hair. This is a problem that is easy to remedy and should be fixed as the conditioner and body wash were full strength. Room cleaning often occurred very late in the day and would have appreciated it being done sooner. We are early risers.

Easy to get to, friendly staff, lots of bonus's like free popcorn, games room, outdoor pool, bikes. Nicely renovated hotel!
Lot next door was under construction which was unfortunately loud at times. No hot tub for chilly evenings. Room was a little small for our family and price point was extremely high for what we got.

Leaving this place behind forever.
The first room was filthy. The carpet, and furniture were stained. It smelled of vomit and cigarettes.
We switched rooms after pointing this out to the front desk staff.
The second room was only better in the sense that it didn't smell of vomit, and was a little bit cleaner.
It still smelled like an ashtray. The carpet was stained, (see photo).
The bed sheets were stained, (see photo). The padded cloth headboard was stained, (see photo). And we were expected to put our heads and faces near it? What an abhorrence.
Who thinks a padded fabric head board is ever a good idea on a hotel? How is this hygienic?
There was hair in the shower, (see photo).
There were what appeared to be vomit stains on the bathroom door, (no more photos will upload).
There were no other rooms available, so we were stuck.
It was horrible.
This was a short notice booking on a holiday weekend, and we were horribly ripped off with a $636 charge for a single night in this abomination of a hotel room.
The front desk staff told us that we were not able to cancel, and get our money back, as we booked through booking(dot)com, and it was non-refundable.
This is the worst hotel experience I've ever had, and will not ever use this booking site again, nor would I ever even consider staying at The Vic again.
I'm perplexed at the good reviews this place gets. I question their validity. There is no way two people could have such a significant discrepancy in the way they perceive this hotel.
4 stars? Unfathomable!
Pictures speak louder than words. I've attached photos, but got a message that they wouldn't be visible until a later time. We shall see.

The bed was firm and comfortable with decent linens and pillows. The clerk that checked us in was pleasant. Plenty of parking.
The room smelled poorly when we first walked in. The carpet needs a deep cleaning badly. Crumbs were around the oven on the floor. The fridge door opened against a wall so it would not open all the way. The shower floor was slippery, though the bathroom was updated nicely. The cost for one night was far too much (cad $550), maybe worth half. A 15-20 min walk to other restaurants, not counting the bfast diner or sports bar attached to the hotel. Would not stay again.

They gave us everything what we needed in the room. Clean, soft beds, clean bathroom, plenty of towels, nice and clean shower, fridge, microwave, coffee machine, AC.
The receptionist was really kind, and patient.
The swimming pool: perfect!
The recreation room: cool!
Shops and restaurants, and downtown is quite close (especially with a car).
You had to be gentle with the shower/bathroom door, it could go off. The air conditioner worked well, but was a bit noisy, so it is not a bad thing, just a bit annoying. Instead I opened the balcony door a bit and it helped with the airflow to get fresh, cool air during the night.

Noisy air conditioning unit, soft pillows, slow check in, (one staff member working very hard)

Breakfast at Floyd's was great!
Parking lot was a little confusing to navigate, didn't realize until the last day that we could park underground.

Nice location and affordable. Friendly staff
The washroom door you can see who is inside you can see it through the mirror.
Also you can’t use the microwave and coffee machine at the same time due to power shortage. You need to unplug everything.

The room was super spacious, clean, and perfect for our family. The kids loved the pool, and the entertainment room with ping pong, foosball, board games, and a big screen for sports channels. The staff were all really friendly and professional. I had the chance to meet the manager Raffael, and Chris of Front Office.

It was walking distance to the harbour. One could hop on a water taxi and be connected to many attractions. Also good restaurants nearby. The hotel also had a games room with foosball, ping pong and fresh popcorn every evening
Our room was across from the elevator so it was a bit noisy

A good-sized clean room with two large beds that were comfortable. The bathroom was updated, and the water was hot. :-) The air con worked okay, though it was a little hot in the room during the night, so it was good to be able to open the large window. The people at the desk were helpful and accommodating.

We didn't check out the dive-looking bar which is attached to the hotel when we arrived, but the breakfast place attached was good. The outdoor pool was also nice, as it was a hot sunny day.
Overall, the hotel had an air of dilapidation which had been covered in paint, to attempt a "spruce up". The hallways smelled badly of paint, in fact. The bedroom smelled of cigarettes, the air conditioner and chair were stained, and there was pubic hair on the floor of the washroom. The staircase does not lead all the way down to the lobby, so you are forced to use the sole rickety elevator (moves weirdly, making you fear it might not work). Overall, this hotel was worth about $100/night, not $350! It's not super convenient to downtown, either: a walk would have taken us 45 minutes at least, so we took a cab.

Pool was nice and clean, although pool towels were lacking at times.
There for 2 weeks and their policy is do a deep clean on the room (vacuum, sheets) only every 7 days. The carpet became dirty, even though strict shoe removal practices. Asked for extra cleaning but didn't always receive it. Bed sheets not replaced and they tried to make the bed but very sloppy. Additionally, two day of the 14 they did not enter room at all. Hallways smelled of cigarette smoke. Bar attached to hotel attracted some drunken people in parking lot at night. Not a nice feeling.
