Loved my stay. I personally love quaint hotels and this was that - if you want something super fancy you will not be happy. But if you love quirky details and older buildings, this is a lovely place. The location is very quiet, I had excellent sleeps. It’s very close to Beacon Hill Park which was a wonderful walk with my morning coffee.

An older hotel, but kept up well. Very quiet in a lovely neighborhood. Walk to a seaside path, or markets, shops. Room could use a luggage rack and a long towel bar in the bathroom. Also, it would be nice to be able to get a cup of tea, coffee, hot chocolate during the day. This apparatus, available only in the lobby, disappears after the morning.

Booked this hotel as was let down by Airbnb! However, it was a great change for us, close and within walking distance to Victoria. Ease of parking in order to do Whale Watching trip. Totally recommend, very quaint and quirky old building.

If you are looking to stay in your British grandmas closet, this place is for you. Otherwise look elsewhere. I booked a standard room with double bed. After a long day of travel I was greeted by rather odd clerk (very weird and sarcastic sense of humour) and she was checking in a couple in front of me. I overheard her as she described their room as petite and the size of closet (her words). Apparently I was right above them in the same size "petite" room. I got into the room and double bed took 90% of the room. Paper thin walls..i could easily hear conversation in the next room.To my surprise there was a small fan. No AC!!! Window didnt have a screen. Bed was rock hard, pillows flat. Second night i spent an hour chasing a mosquito. Fourth day wasp got in. Bathroom was small but ok other than no tub and shower was pretty small. Even thought temperatures were barely 20 Celsius (70 F) room was very hot at all times. I had to leave fan running for the duration of the stay, however no screen on the window was an issue for bugs. Hotel was old but nicely renovated (if you enjoy old british inn style) This hotel needs to specify size of room and add screens to window if AC is not an option. Specify there is NO AC in the room. You need to specify if the room has tub or shower. I was hoping to stay away from hotel chains and a bit out of downtown (within walking distance) but room was disappointing.

Lovely old fashioned hotel, our room was superb. Great location, just a five minute stroll from the waterfront. Parking a little tight but we always found a spot. Would highly recommend, just be aware that there are no lifts.

Great location, car park was big and spacious. Reception were excellent, really helpful and full of good advice - especially the guy with the exceptional beard! Hotel is a little tired but has lots of original features. The bar is lively and is well used by licals and rhe restaurant did great breakfast options. All the major downtown sights are within 15-20 minutes walk. Excellent value for money. One word of warning, the horse and carriage rides clip clop their way right past the front of the hotel so if you are a light sleeper you might request a room at the back.

I likes the location a lot. I stayed in a small room. I have two flaws with my stay, but they are not deal breakers. The rooms are not well sound-proofed. Corridor noises and adjacent room noises are noticeable. Secondly, my room did not have a "do not disturb" door hang, and it had no real place for luggage storage.

The room was nice, and the hotel had an old-fashioned charm. The staff was friendly, and it was convenient to have parking right in front of the building. However, the Wi-Fi was poor and kept disconnecting. The hotel has a restaurant and a pub on the lower level. We had breakfast at the restaurant, which was traditional and nothing special, but it was fine.

Nice place to stay out of the hubbub of downtown Victoria. Very walkable. It’s quiet and clean. The room was fine for me— 2 people would be cramped! And the shower was very small! But it all worked just fine and I would consider staying there again if ever in the area. I didn’t not eat at the hotel so cannot comment on the food.

We stayed one night with our family. Staff was very friendly and arranged for a pack and play to be set up for our grandson. The hotel is old and had a lot of charm. We had breakfast in the restaurant which was very good! Hotel is walkable to parks, Fisherman’s Wharf and downtown. Great location My only recommendation would be to upgrade the carpeting in the rooms as they were quite tired.
