Hotel was near city centre and within walking distance. The room was spacious with a good bathroom and it was very clean and comfortable.
Very helpful and friendly staff.,

With us, the staff was very friendly. We loved the location.
The rooms are old and need a refresh. I found Hair in the bed so that’s concerning. The towels smell like bleach so bad which is good in one respect cause you know they’re clean but just full of chemicals. The carpet was gross in the room, the water pressure was horrible. When we walked in the box spring cover was not properly pulled over either boxspring. My husband and I probably cover them. It looked gross. Their were electrical sticking out around the headboard in the bed and the bed wasn’t even pushed towards the nightstands. It just looked very disheveled. It was also extremely disappointed there was no microwave. I enjoy tea every night. There was a Keurig, but it was underneath something and so dusty and dirty. It was disgusting. I would’ve not used it. We ended up going down to the Starbucks every morning and paying for a cup of hot water so I could have my tea.

Location was great and the staff was friendly. We also loved the food there! Breakfast was great and the wings were had for dinner were delicious!
My first room smelled like smoke but they got us a new room right away, so it worked out.

I liked the safety aspect of needing a key to use the elevator. I liked that there were so many elevators. The salmon at the restaurant lobby was amazing. The breakfast options to buy QUICKLY in the morning were perfect. Love the in and out parking w/o extra charge.
We had a handicap room that backed up to the elevators. The elevators going up and down were a little louder than you would think for light sleepers that have a difficult time falling asleep. Bringing a sound machine to the room would be awesome. I did love that the elevators did not ding. Everyone else fell asleep just fine.

Room was nicely laid out - plenty of storage for the three of us to stow our gear. Fridge and coffee in room was a treat as many hotels no longer seem to offer that. Plenty of outlets along with build in charging stations for phones etc. Especially appreciate the warm cookie and bottle of water upon check in. The associates working at the Doubletree were awesome - very helpful and upbeat!

I like the hotel was clean and the staff were nice and professional.
I didn't like that the heat did not work in our room. They sent someone up to fix it, however and still never worked. My family and I were freezing.

The breakfast and dinner was good. Also the property has a very good location.
I could not watch TV programs in the room because all the channels including news channels required additional charges. This was disappointing and not appropriate for a hotel of this standard.

The location awesome. You can everywhere. All the shops and stores are just a couple of blocks away.
It’s older and could use some remodeling and better cleaning. Like the places that are not as noticeable. Dust all behind the tv area. Mold built up in the bathroom around the sink area.

Great location, helpful staff. Comfortable room.
Very expensive, probably because the city was hosting the Chicago marathon.

The pool area was cute but the actual pool was dirty.
Rooms were very dated but the real issue was the hygiene. The rooms were not clean at all. In one of the drawers, we found leftover shoes and clothes.
The bathroom was despicable. The toilet was dirty and one of the towels was dirty.Overall, it was disgusting.

My daughter and I came from Hungary to Chicago for a System of a Down concert.Great location! Close to Michigan Avenue, where many buses go into the city. Close to Lake Michigan, it was a great feeling to run there in the morning!
The room was very clean, the housekeeper came every day, and if they weren't available they came back!
Close to many restaurants, shops!
There were no bathrobes in the room, so it was a hassle to go down to the pool. The hotel looks much nicer in the photos, but in real life it was shabby, a disappointment

The location was wonderful, a few minutes walk to the riverwalk, a few minutes walk to navy pier- the beds are always wonderfully comfortable.
Our room was quite dirty, broken pieces of fixtures, piles of food and dirt behind the dresser and nightstand; things it seems the turndown staff forgot such as not filling lotion bottles; our sink was backing up and part of the bathroom vanity was breaking off upon arrival, overall didn’t seem like the room was well kept.
About the staff and check in process- it was messy. The front desk agent gave major attitude when I arrived and asked if there was a possibility a room was ready before the traditional check in time( a normal question at hotels and was also on my booking comment for the hotel)- she wouldn’t even look up from the computer to answer me. When we went to drop off our bags we had to stand and wait about 20 minutes for a bellhop to notice us or come to the desk; I also don’t understand why parking that is attached to the building was completely full AND very expensive. I’ve stayed at doubletrees all over the US and this was the least put together and the most difficult to check in at.

All the staff at the hotel were very helpful and welcoming.
The room was fairly basic but very comfortable and spotless.
Breakfast was amazing. As we chose the breakfast included option when picking rooms, we were given a $33 credit for each person per day, which could be used in the onsite restaurant at any time of the day. You had the option to either use the A La Carte menu, which was very good or the buffet. We also ate twice in the restaurant in the evening and had very good, reasonably priced meals.
The outside space with the pool was lovely to use after a day of sightseeing, although as expected there are certain times of the day when the sun hides behind a neighbouring skyscraper. There is a little pool shop that sells drinks and snacks.
The location is ideal and close to all top attractions.
The gym was very poor with very basic equipment. Bit of a disappointment
It would have been nice to have table coverings on the tables for breakfast.
It was a bit of a shame that after having to check out of the room at 11am, we were unable to use the facilities until we left for the airport at 2pm.

Property was great! Clean, great location!
I didn’t like one of the staff members at the desk. She was rude! Didn’t want to give me water or cookies after she miles and was very pleasant with every one else before me. Made it seem like I was broke or something because I booked with booking.com. Justin was GREAT!!!!! He went above and beyond to help my girlfriend and I! Made sure my booking reservation issue was resolved and made my stay in Chicago worth it. Thank you Justin!

Location, location, location!
They lied! I have a business appointment at 11:00 am and chose the property because the free late checkout option but the front desk denied it. They do not complying with their services.

The staff we encountered were fabulous. Always had kind words and suggestions for us which was appreciated.
The front desk management staff needs help on communication. I was double charged and got little to zero communication on getting the additional charges removed from my card. Also it has been almost 2 weeks and my $300 incidental charge has not been refunded either.

Didn’t like 75 dollars per night being taken

The room was great. Extremely comfy beds, very clean and spacious, looked very updated, the view was good even from the lower level we were at. The room looked even better than the photos online. Close to tons of restaurants, shopping and the Broadway show we saw.
Free cookies was a nice touch and they were delicious!
The only thing we could complain about was the pool not being open, but that was noted when we booked and I'm pretty sure the room was cheaper because of this. Ultimately, we chose to stay here because it seemed like great quality for the price we ended up paying (like I said, likely cheaper than normal: $304/n). We stayed extremely busy for the two days we were there, so the pool wasn't missed much.

It took ages to check in

Kind of expensive for what it is

Location is great with the magnificent mile 2 blocks away, several restaurant options and shopping. I was able to go for a run to the Pier. The pool outside looked gorgeous but we did not use it.
There were not the usual amenities in the bathroom and the sink was shattered a little. There was also a chair on the desk that was old and leather was peeled.

The location was great. I like that there was a mini fridge in the room.
The rooms weren’t very clean. Bathrooms need updating. There needs to be detachable shower heads in the shower. The furniture needs updating.

I loved the rooms, the location and the staff.
The hotel took a €75 refundable deposit per night but I am yet to receive this refund back after 2 weeks and the hotel Reception agreeing to my refund amount. I have tried calling the hotel but nobody wants to speak to me and they keep telling me to call my bank but all they ask me for is a proof of payment which the hotel aren’t giving me.

Hottest time of the year. We came for one night. To get the navy pier experience. Told at check in pool was closed. Never knew. Very upset. Basically in our room at 6 pm. Too hot to be out. We came with the intention to spend the evening in the pool and enjoy the night air with my daughters. Just have a good relaxed evening but instead we just had to sit in our room all night next day I was up at 6 AM because I had been in the room since 6 PM and didn’t couldn’t sleep anymore. Went to get ready to go downstairs to the lobby to get some coffee and I had these little bugs in my room. I literally kept one alive and took it down to the front desk to show them. The workers are wonderful and deserved to be paid much more than they are, but this experience is not what I expected for my first and probably only time in Chicago. I said $300 for the room plus close to $70 for the parking for one night and that’s a lot of money to spend when basically you can only spend a little bit of time outside and not be able to enjoy the pool because of the heat so I’m just not happy but I am very happy with the staff. The men behind the desk were wonderful. Everybody was very nice. The corporate needs to do something about this situation because it wasn’t just wasn’t fair and it was a lot of money for basically a few hours in downtown Chicago cause that’s all we could do and we know that’s not your fault but our other experience would’ve been to sit by the pool enjoy that evening which we couldn’t do. We’re not drinkers and party years so sitting at the bar nothing to us and we were all asleep by 8:30 which is ridiculous when you’re spending so much money so no my experience was not that nice but thank God to your wonderful man behind the desk
If I would’ve known the pool wasn’t working, I would’ve gone somewhere else but I it was too late to cancel because of your policies so I’m just not happy and I probably will never return at least to the hotels in Chicago Hilton.
