Great space for a downtown hotel.

The room is large, meaning you have a sizable workspace set apart from the sleeping space. This is a huge plus if traveling for more than a few days or if you know you will have to work. Our room was clean and we appreciated the (unexpected) daily cleaning. There was day-of luggage storage in the lobby. Inside the room, we had space for storing our luggage under the kitchenette sink and on the side of the desk. The location and access are great: centrally located and easily reached from the airport and other locations. We walked and used Ubers, so I cannot review the proximity to, or ease of, public transportation.

Some parts of the facility were showing wear and tear: the automatic front door (which wasn’t working when we were there “due to the cold”) had the weather stripping dangling off of it. The once-nice wood elements in the elevator were worn down and scuffed due to passengers and luggage wear and tear. There is limited clothing storage: three drawers and a small closet. As a party of two, I stored my clothes in the kitchenette cabinets :). The front lobby was fine. It isn’t as neat and tidy as pictured. The bar is now a check-in station. The staff was often dining at the counter or at the nearby table and watching videos, at full volume, on their phones. It had the sense of walking into the staff lounge. One — bombastic, in my opinion — staff member rubbed me the wrong way. Most nearby dining options are national chains. It takes some extra effort to find a real restaurant. Staff suggestions of restaurants were not insightful, helpful, or informed.

Amazing location BUT...

Without a doubt, the beds - that need major improvement and an upgrade. I stayed in two different King Suites, on two different floors, in two different locations of the building, the first stay I just assumed it was that room but the other suite, was just as bad. The bed is lumpy and not the most comfy bed, could have another blanket on hand. Otherwise, the beds can kill a back after a two night stay.

Wonderful location and large room! Great bathroom and separate sitting area with huge windows. The staff was nice. Wet bar and refrigerator in the room. Quiet rooms. There is a bar at the check in area. It's quiet and not lively like stated but that didn't matter to me. They had good options. Very close to Michigan Avenue. We walked everywhere. Hotel felt very safe and secure. We loved it! Much less than most in the area.

The top floor open air sitting area is only available for private parties. Food is limited but there are so many restaurants in the area.

Fabulous room size with an epic location.

Epic location, walking distance to everything we wanted to see. Close to public transport (we went to a concert at Wrigley Stadium)… large and very comfortable room with separate lounge room… great food nearby. Nice decor

The lighting is a bit dim, would have love it to be brighter. The sink was too deep causing water spills and the edge of the bed can still cause hazard even though it has safety padding on it.

Great couple of nights for our Chicago trip(pt 1)

On arrival we were greeted by Myra(i think) and Carlos, they were very happy to see us, very chatty and helpful with information, also advising the bar in the hotel wouldn't be open but gave us a good list of alternatives to try out, which we did. Room size was great, lovely bathroom with double sinks. Huge bed and on the 14th floor we had some decent views...of buildings.

No hotel bar, or dining facilities. There was a bar in the hotel next door, which we used.

Disappointing Stay

I was placed on a floor that was being renovated on half the floor. It was VERY cold as they must have either had no heat in half the floor or missing windows. Very noisy also.

The best hotel I have ever stayed in. The staff was so friendly and helpful, the location couldn’t be better. Every major tourist attraction was walking distance. The room was perfectly clean and big. The fact that we had separate spaces with my friend made this hotel extremely comfortable. The price was also very good. I would like to come back soon for a longer stay

Pleasant. We would return!

The sweet lady at the desk on this past Saturday and Sunday was extremely helpful. She took time to offer help with maps and directions. She is an asset to your hotel!

Not great, would say it's a 3 star hotel not a 4 star

Room was a good size, beds and pillows were comfortable, AC worked well. The hotel is very well located in a nice neighbourhood with a nice rooftop.

It was kind of worn out and floors were dirty, very small lobby, no place for breakfast, staff overall not very friendly or helpful, wifi was terrible. Would say it's a 3 star hotel not 4 star hotel.

The Ivy is surrounded by trees & flowers. You know you are in a most special place.

It’s a beautiful Hotel in a great location. The staff is very accommodating & friendly. The rooftop is a gorgeous place & the food & music are exceptional. The bartender entertained us. 😀😀😀😀😀

It’s still good and worth of money

It’s near in magnificent mile and accessible to restaurants. It’s decent. The front desk staff were nice

I loved the staff the best staff I have come across at an hotel that genuinely cared and showed so much compassion for me! I want to thank the young lady at the desk she was so sweet and caring ! I wish I remembered her name. But I didn’t know I was having a miscarriage and she took care of me! If it wasn’t for her I probably would have passed out. She gave me tea and watched my vehicle while I wasn’t able to walk because of the heavy pain I was in. But she’s a wonderful caring soul and God bless her for being there!

The only down side is the expensive parking or lack of valet . But this was a gorgeous hotel. Oh and they didn’t have a microwave or real refrigerator in the room. Some of the candy they were trying to sell in the room was covered with dust 😆
