Dock Loft

The loft apartment was clean and spacious in a pretty good location just inside the 'low emissions' zone of Ghent. Details of the apartment were pretty much as described.

The bed in the loft's loft was really just a crawl space - and, you could only crawl. Ladder to the 'bedroom' was a flimsy thing for storage lofts and not suited for regular foot traffic. However, the owner did suggest that she make up the sofa bed 'downstairs' instead - we probably should have done this, but it would mean that we then didn't have a sofa to sit on. The conversion of the loft space seems to have been undertaken pretty recently, but there were 'power boards' (pb) required for the fridge and another for the microwave, suggesting the wiring could do with some improvement. The pb's were a problem because we bought milk, juice, butter etc and put it in the fridge, only to wake up the next morning to find that the pb was not turned on and the fridge was warm. The 'portable air-conditioning' turned out to be a simple fan - windows needed to be open all night in order to cool the loft down. This came with plenty of mosquitoes, and despite putting on a lot of DEET, we were both bitten continually. The owner did have a 'mosquito trap' thing which unfortunately had a bright blue light and a fan. We used the 'trap' the first night, but not after - we were attracting enough mosquitoes already. The 'private bathroom' was not inside the apartment but adjacent to it over a small landing. The bathroom would have been pretty good if it wasn't for the large sauna shoved into it (not for guests I believe). The sauna took up most of the room which left a small shower in which was difficult to move in - so don't expect to fully wash your legs or feet. No entry door key was provided and we had to use the combination key box every time we went in and out. Interesting at night time when you need the light on your mobile phone to even see the combination keys.

Es war gemütlich und sehr ruhig. Unsere Gastgeberin hat auf jegliche Fragen und Wünsche schnell reagiert. Für uns war es ein entspannter und schöner Aufenthalt.

Goede locatie, precies zoals op de foto’s,

Matras dun en hard (persoonlijke voorkeur) en we konden niet douchen met warm water. Wrs boiler aanwezig voor het huis en die was denk ik op.

Heel mooi, alle comfort, en vooral súper rustig !!
