Staying at this ryokan felt like the height of luxury in Japan - the room was very spacious, pristinely clean, and had so many amenities included (tea, toiletries, snacks). My favourite aspect was the little garden patio with my own private onsen - I made sure to take full advantage of that while I was there! The king size bed was comfortable and the bathroom was equipped with many towels and bath products. What I found to be fun was that the shower is outdoors, so that I could clean up before using the onsen and step in right away without dripping on the floor indoors. (This is ideal for the warmer months and I mention it so that anyone staying in the cooler months can expect this!) The surrounding area is very peaceful, as it's more residential, and I found many restaurants and konbinis within walking distance. (One thing to note is that some are only open at certain times and the ryokan locks the front door at 10pm, so it's best to time dinner accordingly.) Given my plans to visit the Venetian Glass museum and the Botanical Garden of Wetlands nearby, this ryokan was ideally situated for a 15 minute walk to either. The staff were friendly, gave me a warm welcome, chatted with me about my plans for each day, and were very flexible in accommodating my luggage being dropped off before check-in so that I could enjoy other activities near Lake Ashi. I truly appreciate all the care that they put into this ryokan. Overall, I enjoyed my experience so much that I recommended it to a friend who lives in Tokyo so that she can treat herself as well!
Nothing - everything was amazing!
