Dirty and disappointing

Location was good

The property hasn’t been cleaned before arrival. There was dirty beds, full fridges and bins and broken furniture. I have pictures time stamped of this evidence. The communication before hand about deposit wasn’t smooth I was told two different things leading to anxiety. The whole experience was a waste of my money.

Extremely Unsafe and Misleading Property — Avoid at All Costs

We travelled from London to Bingham to celebrate my friend’s birthday and arrived just after midnight, only to find the property in an extremely unsafe area that looked nothing like the photos. The place smelled strongly of cannabis, was dirty, and had spider webs and a strong, unpleasant hygiene odour. It genuinely felt unsafe for us to even stay — we were there for less than 4 minutes before leaving. The alleyway leading to the property was dark and intimidating, and the host did not answer any of our calls or messages for help. We were left stranded late at night, calling around 10–15 hotels trying to find somewhere safe to stay. Eventually, we had to travel all the way to Coventry (about two extra hours away) and pay over £200 more for a hotel just to have a secure place to sleep. This completely ruined what was supposed to be a special birthday trip and caused a lot of stress and exhaustion. It’s now been a month since the stay, and neither the property owner nor Booking.com has offered any compensation or even a response. This was our first and last time visiting Bingham — we were genuinely traumatised by how unsafe and misleading this experience was. I would strongly advise anyone not to book this property.

The property was spacious it was very clean. It’s good value for money, the parking is free loads of space

It was really good in there, kitchen light doesn’t work and the tv in the bedroom didn’t work

Disaster- better off avoiding this one.

The poor reviews should have warned us. Half an hour before checking in we received a message to say that the apartment was unavailable and offering an alternative in the city centre. As we did not want to stay in the city centre we declined and then proceeded to request a refund. This was granted by booking.com but we suspect due to the fact we had bought the insurance option.

The last minute collection and poor communication from the owner.

Please repair the heater

A flat above a shop, but fine for a short stay

The property is well located but it is on a busy road, and above a shop. That was ok for our needs but may not suit everyone. Parking in the street close by was easy and it seemed a safe area, quite residential. The response to communications was always good.

The entrance is around the back of the shops, a couple of restaurants/cafes, so it's not the nicest way in. There was quite a lot of rubbish around but this is not the fault of the apartment, rather the lack of Birmingham bin collections and the other commercial properties co-located. There were one or two things in the apartment that needed mending, but they responded to that well. It is worth knowing that the owners also require a £150 deposit before you get the release of the entry code. This worked out ok for us, but worth knowing as not everyone may have this ability.
