This place is so cute in the most quant little village. I stayed with my 4yo and we really enjoyed it! Also it has the softest bedsheets I’ve ever had.

Lovely new hotel in the center of Osco

Lovely small hotel in the center of Osco. They had just opened when we stayed here. Everything is frehsly renovated inside and old house. Lots of charm and little details. The staff is young, innovative and very friendly. You could feel that they are still figuring things out, but if something was missing a quick ask with one of the staff memebers and it was solved. We had a lovely dinner with homemade pasta and tiramisu. Breakfast was small but had everything we needed. The rooms are small but modern and comfortable. Can fully recommend a stay here.

Beautiful cozy place

The place is really cozy an beautiful, well equiped. The host answered at late hours about our check in since we were delayed. The place is up on a hill, beautiful way up and down with views, it feels special and welcoming when you arrive.

Out of the ordinary

The hotel is in a small village on the side of a hill above the motorway (E2) that takes you from the Gotthard Tunnel to Milan. The tranquillity and wild beauty of the setting contrast pleasingly with the hurry-rush of the traffic on the valley floor. The hotel is an excellent base for visiting the area and we used it for walks along the strada alta. We walked from Osco to Rossura, Calonico and Anzonico, although we split it into easy chunks. You walk according to your schedule and level of fitness, but the walks are not too strenuous. We enjoyed beautiful spring weather with all the trees in blossom. Driving back one evening we saw a fallow deer. The hotel is a new venture and has not been open long. Our room was comfortable and well-appointed, and we were able to use the kitchen to cook and store any food. There is a local restaurant a two-minute walk away (it’s called Marti) where you can get breakfast and dinner, we ate both so were well able to walk from village to village. The hotel building used to be a Foundation – indeed the locals still call it the Fondazione. It is an old building with a modern touch, a lot of stripped wood and the décor in pale grey. The bed was comfortable and the local fresh air – it’s in inexhaustible supply – made for tranquil sleep. Not a run-of-the-mill hotel. We went home with our batteries charged and our energy levels replenished.

Contemporary & cosy accommodation in an ancient mountain village

We were honoured to be the first guests at the Locanda and were warmly welcomed by Mark. The property is brand new and furnished in contemporary yet cosy mountain style with a relaxed public area downstairs including a courtesy fridge and small lounge area. The location in a small mountain village is well worth the drive up with some great views and plenty of hiking trails to be enjoyed nearby. Our room was warm, comfortable and quiet with great lighting and a good bathroom. Mark has great plans for the place - there will be a restaurant in season and there’s an upstairs attic space for wellness practice and group activities. We wish him every success in the future.

Die Unterkunft hat ihren Terminkalender nicht im Blick. Erst freut sie sich auf die Gäste per Bestätigung. Und einen Tag vorher hat man auf einmal kein Zimmer für uns und Booking.com soll den Fehler gemacht haben. Deswegen können wir zu vielen Dingen auch keine detaillierten Angaben machen, weil wir sie gar nicht genutzt haben.

We werden super vriendelijk ontvangen, de locatie was, ondanks dat we even moesten zoeken, perfect voor een tussenstop onderweg naar Italië. Alles voelde nieuw en schoon aan. Zeker een aanrader.

Aangekomen in het drop, is het misschien niet helemaal duidelijk waar het hotel zich bevindt. Je parkeert namelijk op een openbare parkeerplaats vlakbij het hotel.

Magnifique escapade en montagne tessinoise

Le lieu est magnifique dans un petit village pittoresque. L’accueil de notre hôte est parfait et elle est vraiment très attentionnée et gentille. Cuisine superbe aussi bien au dîner qu’au petit déjeuner, bon café et bonne viennoiseries. La décoration est superbe aussi bien dans la chambre que dans le reste de l’hôtel. L’espace extérieur est superbe chou. Toutes les personnes rencontrées ici étaient très gentilles. Nous recommandons vivement cet établissement pour sa simplicité et son efficacité tout en étant très jolie!

J’ai beaucoup apprécié cet établissement et ne lui reproche rien. Si je devais noter une chose ici c’est le manque de chaussons offerts aux clients à l’arrivée. Cela ne nous pose aucun problème d’enlever les chaussures et je comprends parfaitement le concept. Je proposerais simplement des chaussons en échange, le sol est assez froid de plus car il faisait mauvais temps à notre venue. Un peu de salé au petit déjeuner et cet établissement serait juste parfait (un fromage et une charcuterie simple cela suffirait).

Jung, modern, freundlich im idyllisch dörflichen Kontext der Tessiner Berge

Eine sehr schöne kleine und ganz neue Unterkunft. Modern eingerichtet mit Liebe zum Detail. Sehr nett und gastfreundlich, mit einer sehr guten Küche. Wir kamen im Laufe des Abends erst an und wurde sehr nett empfangen und das Essen im kleinen Hof haben wir an einem frischen Sommerabend genossen. Die Anfahrt ist mit den engen und steilen Serpentinen „abenteuerlich“, aber die Ankunft im kleinen Tessiner Bergdorf und dem tollen Ausblick ins Tal und die Berge entschädigt alles! Wir waren auf der Durchreise nur eine Nacht dort, aber das könnte nicht das letzte mal gewesen sein….

Moderne Zimmer

Sehr kalt, hatte mehrere tote Insekten im Zimmer auch im Klo und es gab kein Frühstück, kein Kaffe und keine Nachricht das man sich komplett selbst versorgen muss. Die Strasse rauf ist sehr schmal und mühsam, sodass man nicht eben nach Faido fährt. Die Zimmerschlüssel lagen einfach auf und uns war nicht klar welches Zimmer wir nehmen konnten. Zu hoher Preis für das Erlebnis.

Hübsche Unterkunft in urchigem Tessinerdorf!

Sehr hübsche und gepflegt Unterkunft, inmitten der Tessiner Berge. Da wir sehr spät und sehr übermüdet angekommen sind, können wir nicht viel mehr dazu sagen. Aber, die Kommunikation war freundlich und zuvorkommend.

Leider hat uns unser Navi auf andern, teilweise sehr engen Wegen und daher mit grossen Umwegen zur Unterkunft geführt, trotz exakter Adresseingabe und wir hatten grosse Mühe in dunkler Nacht und starkem Regen die Unterkunft zu finden, aber das ist natürlich nicht die Schuld des Gastgebers. Am andern Morgen war der Weg dann deutlich einfacher und gut zu fahren, smile!

Davvero eccellente

La Locanda del Viandante è un piccolo gioiello incastonato nella natura. L’atmosfera è calda, autentica e accogliente, si percepisce l’amore e la cura nei dettagli. Le camere sono pulite, silenziose e arredate con gusto, e la vista sulle montagne è semplicemente mozzafiato. Un luogo perfetto per rilassarsi e per partire per le camminate. Il personale è stato molto amichevole. Torneremo sicuramente!
