The perfect introduction to Switzerland.

Never stayed in a place with a better view. And it was so nice and quiet, and I loved walking around the hills or taking the bus into town. Also, the breakfast was delicious. I would live here if it was possible.

Comfy bed, awesome breakfast

Comfortable beds, the most amazing breakfast with many homemade treats (scrambled eggs, banana bread, jam and spreads, two kinds of pancakes, ...), spotlessly clean, super friendly owner, great atmosphere. Would stay again without hesitation.

Good location, very bad room for me, excellent breakfast

Good located hotel with a good view from the mountain down to the lake. Terrible room, not able to stand in it, toilettes and shower outside the room, not even a sink. Breakfast was excellent. Overall a bad value for money paid.

Lovely view and terrace with flowers. Good breakfast. Rooms clean and quiet. Nice staff.

Lots of stairs when you arrive, and no people (do-it-yourself checkin). Fine for young people but older people should check first and get one of the rooms with few stairs to it. We were lucky with ours (Alice in Wonderland room).

100% recommend but maybe not for a cycling tour!

The building is located on the mountain side of the city. Therefore the rooms which are oriented towards the lake and the city have gorgeous views! The place has beach vibes and it is perfectly furnished and decorated. We were on the upper floor and the rooms have balconies. There is one bathroom and a toilet per floor and our room had a sink. The breakfast was really good! Pancakes, fruits, vegetables, bread, etc and good coffee! Bus stop is at the entrance of the accomodation.

We were not prepared to cycle up 200+ m with our bikes and bags in the heat, and Google Maps recommended a hiking route as a cycling route which was not accessible. We were not sure about the safety of the bike parking facility (not lockable and visible from the street) but they weren’t stolen!

Welcoming, authentic, excellent views!

I went on a solo hiking vacation to Locarno, and Pensione Olanda exceeded my expectations. Davide and Sabrina are great hosts—very empathetic to guests' needs. The shared bathroom wasn't a problem; a bathrobe was ready in the room, and free fruit, tea, and coffee facilities were available. The place offers a beautiful view of the lake. You can sit for hours on the terrace in the evening and simply take it all in. This place is a true labor of love—you will feel welcome and thoroughly enjoy your stay. The rooms are impeccably tidy. I loved the décor and the attention to detail that truly makes your heart smile. The vegetarian breakfast is excellent, with homemade jams, banana bread, and a great variety of fruits and cheeses. I absolutely loved my stay there! This is definitely a place you’ll want to return to.

The place is amazing, close to Locarno, very comfortable to get there by bus with Ticino ticket. At the same time it was very quiet and calm place, amazing view. Very nice terrace for a breakfast.

A decent room close to Locarno.

Pensione Olanda is located on a mountain above Locarno. In the evening we had a great view over the lake and city.There is a bus stop (two stops per hour) to travel to Locarno. The room is good, with an excellent bed. The ambiance is "easy going". Because there is no staff in the evening, guests are invited to use the facilities/bar and pay for use the next day.

Given the pricelevel of the room I expected a higher service level. The pensione is in my idea perfect for guests who have an easy going lifestyle. Breakfast was adequate. It was explained later that there was a temporary price increase because of an event in Locarno.

Great views and breakfast

The view from the room is just amazing. The room itself is nice, big, comfortable bed and pillows. Despise the weather, the room was not hot because of the fan there, and also they have a antimosquito device (thank you!). There is a shwer and a sink in the room, which works well, doesn't feel out of place. The toilet is close, at the end of the corridor in the first floor (we were in the same floor, not sure if the rooms in the ground floor also have a toilet there os have to use the one in the first floor) The breakfast was very complete, with sweet and salty stuff (we, as an italian and spanish, went for the sweet). It included bread, fruit (nice pineapple), croissants, and thiskind of stuff. Also the breakfast terrace was very cool and with superb views. People there, both Andrea and also Rafael, the other worker who was there, were very kind and helpful. The location is uphill, so not that close to the center, but I don't think that's a problem is a town like Locarno. We didn't take it, but there was a bus stop just in front of the building, so I guess that if you come from the train station is easy to arrive. Otherwise, if you come with car is perfect, as the parking place is just in front of the hotel (they have dedicated plarking lots). I would definitely come back if I have to stay un Locarno.

Great breakfast, most comfortable bed (more comfortable than one I slept on in a 5-star hotel in Switzerland), quiet, great view, great bathroom, owner works very hard to make everything run smoothly, the clean, quiet bus down to the city center stops at the hotel on an extremely regular schedule allowing you to not bring a car; the walkway down to the city center is very interesting because you pass between houses--an old system of stairs and trails allows you to walk to or from the city center if you want a good workout
