We didn’t actually stay in the main hotel building, only saw the dining room on the first floor. The Easy Rooms building is across the street, in an old structure that hasn’t been renovated or maintained to a good standard. Our room was on the third floor, accessible only by stairs — something that is not mentioned anywhere during the booking process.
We made a mistake when booking, as the shared bathroom situation is not clearly explained or visible online. We immediately asked to switch to a room with a private bathroom and offered to pay the difference, but were told it wasn’t possible. When we arrived and saw that there were available rooms, we asked again, and once more the answer was no. The staff handling emails and reception did not seem friendly or flexible.
There are only two bathrooms for the entire floor (around eight rooms), and only one has a shower — which is actually a very high bathtub with fabric curtains. It felt unsafe and quite unpleasant. On the first day, there was **no hot water**, so we had to shower with cold water.
During our stay, a group of teenagers was also lodged in the same building. They were understandably loud, but mixing guests who are there for rest and tourism with a large youth group is not a great idea. The walls and doors are extremely thin, so you hear absolutely everything.
Additionally, **someone was smoking inside one of the rooms**, and the smell spread through the entire floor. With such thin walls it was impossible not to miss it.
On the positive side, the location is excellent — right on the main Piazza Grande — and the view from our room was lovely. The mattress was comfortable, and the pillows were truly great. The cleaning lady was very kind and helpful, which we appreciated. We even asked if we could buy one of the pillows, but once again the answer was no.
Overall, it’s a pity, because with just a few improvements and a bit more flexibility from the staff, the experience could be much better.

All I need is a bed for myself and safe parking for my car, I got both for a reasonable price with the much appreciated help of the owner.

Most people would not put up with the spartan appointments. I am used to them and cannot afford anything better.
