Loft 5 - Apartment near Stansted

Location was close to the train station which made arrival very easy. Access was clear and simple - and as stated. The beds were clean and comfy, towels too. The en-suite bathrooms were very clean. Suited our needs as a base to visit relatives close by. Fresh milk was provided in the clean fridge, teabags and sugar plus biscuits were provided. The contact with the managers/owners was very responsive and flexible when we requested a slightly later check out.

There are a few maintenance issues that need addressing: de-scaling kettle, de-scaling the shower heads - one didn’t work and was spraying water upwards as the holes were clogged. Another shower unit was loose from the wall, but the shower worked fine. One of the en-suite door handles was off on the inside, meaning the door couldn’t be safely closed whilst in use. There was a strong musty smell in the kitchen which pervaded into the adjacent bedroom. Quite unpleasant really (had to douse myself in perfume and have windows open during the night). I think the source of the smell was from the kitchen drains and /or dishwasher - which still had items inside. The waste bin had a strong musty smell too (maybe damp cloths disposed of? I didn’t examine closely!). Some of the furnishings were a little worn in places but that didn’t detract much.
