Comfortable stay for 2-3 people and a dog!

Convenient for the town centre, dog friendly, underfloor heating

Parking is a bit tricky, through an archway with not much space to turn around

Perfect for the quiet restful weekend I needed.

The property is beautifully decorated, warm, the beds are very comfortable and it was a peaceful quiet place to stay. We stocked up on logs when we arrived and enjoyed the wood burner every day!

Everything was great! The steps up to the mezzanine are steep and there’s no handrail but the description does advise about this, and I was perfectly fine going up and down so this is just something to consider.

Very friendly and hospitable host, who met us on arrival. Very clean and comfortable accommodation with great underfloor heating. All the facilities you could wish for. Fresh bread, butter, jam and milk on arrival. Very convenient for the town. Great onsite parking.

The flat is brilliant, is really well located, 5 min walk to every restaurant and bar, 10-15 min from the train station. The place was super clean, beds are really comfy, and had everything you need, Fred and is daughter are so kind , even leave us food and coffee to do a breakfast !!

Lovely, comfortable and convenient

Lovely and comfortable and had all you needed for a short stay, including a parking spot. The host gave us some extra teas. The property is very close to town on a lovely road and is off the street so very quiet :) All very comfortable.

There was nothing we didn’t like. The property hadn’t been heated before we came so it took a little time to warm up but then it was v cosy. It would be good to have a coffee machine. It’s a little light in the bedroom as the blinds are not thick so bring an eye mask if this bothers you

Stay in Bishops Stortford

Great location for us both to work and go into London for the event we were at. Great communication with the host and made to feel welcome. Good Internet connection allowed me to work comfortably.

A little cold on arrival, but the heaters helped to get the place warmed up soon enough.

Fabulous weekend stay would highly recommend

The location was perfect just a short walk into town, space for 1 car off street parking and what a fabulous building / accommodation. Lots of character however modernised beautifully

Excellent accommodation in a surprisingly pretty and busy town, just a stones throw from Stansted !

A lovely self-contained flat, very close to the centre of Bishop's Stortford but just nicely removed from the main part of town. The flat is clean and extremely well kitted out especially in the kitchen. There are utilities you might need for a longer stray like a washing machine and ironing board. There is also wood burning stove but you would need to return at a cooler time of the year to use this rather than the height of summer ;-) That said, I expect the property would be a very nice autumn / winter stay too ! The hosts had milk, butter, bread and jam available in the fridge when we arrive. If you are going anywhere from Stansted Airport, forget the bland airport hotels, enjoy Bishops Stortford from The Old Stables and the very short and cheap train ride out and back to the airport. Am a little loath to say to many more good things in case the Old Stables becomes very popular and hard to book in future ;-D

Great place with a nice feel, location was amazing

We liked the location and the extra homely touches from the hosts.

We used the pull out sofa and in the living area, which was a good size. However, the curtains let in the light and we were woken up very early. I think this could be improved so that this can be used

Lovely property, enjoyed our short stay.

Really comfortable and well maintained. Great location

Shower was difficult to work, water was too hot and hard to turn off. Not much ventilation with two dogs as we could not leave the doors open.

The most beautiful, comfortable property, all we can say is it is fabulous

This is the most beautiful amazing property. 4 of us stayed and it was very comfortable. Everything you would need is in the property. Lovely kitchen, comfortable sofas and very comfy beds. Great shower too. We were so grateful for the milk, bread, butter and of course fresh eggs. Little touches like fresh roses make it very special. We found the property easy to find and easy to walk into town where there are many shops and places to eat. Thank you so much for our stay. We enjoyed it very much and we will definitely be back.
