Travelling from Italy to Belgium, a stop to escape the heat. Boy, it did us good. Self check-in, impersonal but quite simple. Saw no living soul from start to end. Tall modern building, the ugliest in the valley but when inside you don't see it. Very Swiss, spotless room and bathroom (small). Balcony with view on the mountain slopes and some friendly sheep. No restaurant either, make a reservation in one of the nearby villages or get stuff at the small supermarket nearby. Above all, absolute, clean air and utter silence as everywhere in this magic secluded valley, untouched by mass tourism unlike most in Switzerland; a view without electricity poles or tourism infrastructure of any kind; one bus an hour, no trains, no planes, not even in the distance; by night no cars either (by day VERY few). The only noise comes from the brooklet far below, which will become the Rhine. And a stunning starry night. The heatwave had engulfed all of Europe at 35C., here it was 18C. Pure magic.

The balcony was common for 3 rooms, with no separations. We were lucky, no neighbours, but this should urgently be improved for privacy.

Die Lage in Cresta/Avers ist toll, direkt zwischen murmeltierbesiedelten Berghängen und abseits des alpinen Massentourismus. Ein Minimarkt für Besorgungen ist direkt um die Ecke.

Meine Bewertung wäre deutlich positiver, wenn die Beschreibung und Bebilderung nicht falsche Erwartungen geweckt hätte. Auf den Fotos sind ausschließlich Zimmer mit Balkon zu sehen, angeboten werden aber laut Beschreibung nur Zimmer ohne Balkon. Außerdem hatte das Zimmer nicht wie beworben 24qm, sondern nur 18. Das wäre generell kein Problem angesichts des für die Lage dennoch günstigen Preises, aber als wir nach einem langen Tag auf dem Rad in das Zimmer kamen und nur eine kleine Kammer im Parterre mit Fenster auf die Straße vorfanden, waren wir schon sehr enttäuscht.

Wir sind sehr freundlich begrüßt und gut betreut worden.
