Villa Giade

What a gorgeous restored villa, big garden, next to a rock, with palm trees and traditional Italian houses around it, it feels like stepping back in time in a good way. The hosts were incredible and each of them played a role to making our stay memorable! The food was Michelin star level at normal prices this is unheard of, the taste was out of this world the way each different flavour complemented each other - the son and husband were cooking and they are so talented, compliments to the chefs! The lady cooked breakfast, served us, checked us in and checked us out. I liked that they were using products from their own garden to cook and had an extensive wine/champagne room. The property has been refurbished very tastefully and it was great value for money. We stayed in Chiavenna so we can go to St Moritz, it’s an hour away for an event, the host gave us instructions on how to get there and tips from a local dealing with the snow and summer tyres (thanks to the rental company in Italy…). We found the place very clean, good location, one of the best food we’ve had in our life - all run by a family business working very hard, good breakfast that was included in price. We will come back next year for the same event since prices in ST Moritz are so insane for the same level of luxury!

No oat milk option for my coffee, would be great if you could add that in the future for your customers with milk intolerance problems and my partner was missing honey for his yoghurt. We struggled with the thin glass door in the bathroom, there’s no privacy, you can’t come here with your parents, siblings etc or you’ll have to get out the room whilst they shower/use the toilet. The duvet was very thin for winter even though we had a blanket in the wardrobe that wasn’t enough so we were quite cold in the night, a thicker winter duvet would be perfect. We were on the first floor so we could hear chatter, plates in the kitchen and music from the restaurant downstairs, or hear people in the hallway - not the best sound proof, better if you stay on higher floors. When we arrived back from our trip we found the thermostat lowered down (assume to cut costs) we left it quite high, after that we struggled all night to get the temperature where it used to be.

Beautiful recently restored villa, very quiet yet basically in the old town, in a special location underneath a big rock, with a nice garden for outdoor dining (not in January, obviously). The reception at the property was very warm. The room almost new, tasteful and very good beds. Complete and comfortable bathroom. We didn't expect the restaurant to be so special - I would say it's Michelin Star-quality, and not to be missed! Breakfast was of course very good as well. Prices are reasonable for the quality offered. We already want to go back now

No as criticism: since it's an old villa, there is no elevator. Public parking is around the corner. Between the shower/ washbasins in the bathroom and the bedroom there is a fully transparent glass division, which is of course a matter of taste. We would prefer to have the possibility to close a curtain or something alike.
