Absolutely love it

We absolutely love this accommodation! The view is spectacular, the staff is friendly, you can check in yourself-don’t need to wait on anyone. We stayed in the big room on the top floor and it was very nice. The bed is comfortable, the bathroom really clean and we will definitely come back again.

There is nothing, but new customers need to be aware that they have to do stairs climbing to reach the property, but it’s worth it.

It was a nice stay and the restaurant was lovely.

The B&B is located in a beautiful area. I appreciated that we received detailed instructions on how to get there and to bring only what we needed. You will need to walk up a few stairs to reach the B&B. It was very convenient that there is a restaurant right below, as there’s nothing else nearby. The food was good, and the staff was lovely. Overall, our stay was nice. It was a simple place but perfect for our needs.

Absolutely amazing! Highly recommended!

You can check in by yourself even if you arrive very late, no problem! Just make sure not to disturb other guests. The host is really nice, the place is pet-friendly, and the scenery is absolutely amazing! The road leading to the village is full of surprises — beautiful views everywhere. The restaurant where you have breakfast has an even more stunning view! I recommend staying for breakfast before you leave.

We were really very satisfied and would gladly return sometime, maybe in a different season.

We would like to thank the kind hosts at this fantastic place. We spent a wonderful week in Chiavenna during our holiday. We planned this trip as history fans to explore if we could find any traces of emigrants from Grisons to our country in the 16th and 17th centuries (families like Losio, Pedroni, Vertemate, and others) – and we found many! We went on a beautiful trek with views to the village of Lagünz, visited Lake Como, Lago di Lei, and even crossed into Switzerland. Thank you for a great stay and the breakfasts with Girolamo – it was lovely!

If you don’t like getting up early with the chickens, make sure to close the window well or take earplugs – the roosters here wake up very early! We live in the countryside, so it didn’t bother us at all, and it really fits with the place :-)

Wonderful

An amazing, beautifully designed room in a hilltop village overlooking Chiavenna, the valley, and surrounding mountains, with breathtaking views from the room's large windows. The hosts were exceptionally kind, and both dinner and breakfast were excellent and fairly priced.

The road to the village is narrow, and although technically two-way, there are spots where only one car can pass, requiring occasional reversing. Parking is located outside the village, about a 5-minute walk from the property, so it’s probably best to bring in only essentials (or a trolley), leaving the rest in the car.

So good we didn't want to leave! Rooms and hosts were fantastic - clean, comfortable and very accommodating. it's a converted schoolhouse and a little quirky, but all the better for it. The views from the terrace are sublime. Perfect for exploring Lake Como by car. Breakfast was awesome with the best view in the world.

Mariagrazia and Andre are very good hosts, friendly and helpful. I felt at home straight away. The hotel has a restaurant which is an amazing bonus in a little village lost in time away from everything. Perfect for a relaxed retreat.

The views and people at the B&B were nothing short of exceptional!

The views from the B&B were nothing less than you'd see in postcards. The city of Chiavanna's lights were reminiscent of lava and the sun kissed snowy mountain peaks were absolutely stunning. The owner was so warm and hospitable as was the owner of the restaurant below. You must have supper at least one night of your stay and strike up a conversation, you won't be disappointed!

Very authentic place in interesting location.

no sound isolation at all. you will have the restaurant right behind the wall, that can have parties, birthdays etc and they don’t care that you are having rest. you will hear only “sorry” and the party will go on. we haven’t slept almost all night. the owner just said that he is sorry. worst service.

The horrendously dirty room and the hostile owner completely ruined the experience.

The view

I don‘t usually write reviews, but this was throughout such a horrible experience that I feel compelled to warn others. We booked the „Music Room“ apartment for 6 nights and payed in advance with no option to cancel. When we arrived, the room was extremely dirty, the trash wasn't emptied, there were stains and crumbs all over the kitchen including the drawers. The rest of the room was very dusty and even had broken glass lying around. There were many dead insects, but also very live ones: a large cockroach fled in front of us under the sofa, where we were horrified to also discover an abundance of dust, hair and dirt. Also, some of the towels had crusty stains and smelled funny. The host wasn‘t there anymore (he leaves at 7pm) and it was already evening, so we stayed one night, feeling very uncomfortable. The next morning we told the host that we were unhappy about the state of the room and won‘t be able to stay in it. He offered a „quick vacuum“ and we told him that won‘t suffice. He then quickly became quite aggressive, gave a long rambling speech about how he‘s not able to hire people for cleaning and that he himself is overworked and can‘t properly do it. He came across as so hostile that we did not feel safe and were both quite uncomfortable in the situation. In the aftermath, we contacted both booking.com and the host himself asking for a refund, given that we only stayed one night out of the six. The host openly admitted that the room wasn’t in a state where it should have been rented out. However, he was unwilling to refund any of the money, saying that people like us „don’t deserve it“. In addition, he admitted that he rented the room out again immediately after we left and was thus „lucky“ to earn twice the money with it. He became quite aggressive, threatened us, and insulted us.

Coming here again

Scenic location inside the Italian Alps, just like in a fairy tale. The hotel is an "old school" like the Italian name suggests with amazing decorations and old reminiscences of the past. Our room was an actual classroom with details about biology. Each room has a different theme. Due to a misunderstanding we had the staff even offered us a free cappuccino and croissant.

Staff behavior. They became a little defensive when we asked for breakfast and restaurant facilities.

Hidden gem away from the noise of Chiavenna

This B&B is located up a hill in an ancient town without roads! A beautiful view, generous and cozy room and a lovely host. The village is definitely worth a visit in and of itself. It’s also possible to do a cool hike from here (really steep but worth it), and apparently there’s a via ferrata. 10/10 would recommend, especially if you’re looking for something off the beaten track! Note that there are no shops up here, so come prepared, or book ahead at the restaurant downstairs.

Beautiful spot, very quiet place.

The bedroom was too close to the living room (reception) and it caused noise. I chose this place to get relaxed and benefit of the peace and quiet of the location itself and actually it is... when the host is not around. Even if the host is kind, for this reason I left the place 1 day before the planned departure.
