Great location in the middle of the village, few minutes walk from the ski slopes and just across the best cheese shop of the region. We use to come often for the terrasse which had the longest sun exposure, and tested the hotel for the first time. The rooms were surprisingly comfortable (for the “older” style) and the breakfast really top notch! As for the food, definitely leveled up since the owner changed. The Toblerone mousse is a must try! We’ll be back!
Not much, we’re coming often in the region and always changed places. Now we’ll know we’ll be back here :)
Maybe for those sensitive to this: the style of the rooms and bathroom is a bit old fashioned. We did not mind but don’t expect fancy renovations.

Staff was extremely friendly and accommodating. Breakfast was outstanding. Value for money was great, especially compared with other offers in the area.
There is no elevators and the bathrooms may benefit from some renovation. But they were more than decent.

Perfect overnight stay on the road from Italy to Munich. Stunning views, great mountain hiking starting just at the front door, quiet, clean and cosy. Great restaurant with local specialties - we had two types of Röstli and a kinderschnitzel, and they were great. Good shop just across the bridge with local cheese and other dairy products plus souvenirs and snacks - try the Bündner Nusstorte, it‘s a must!
We had family room at the 3rd floor with big bed and two smaller beds. Bathroom is spacious, with everything you need and no flaws.
Also, check out the local Rheinwald museum in the Gemeindehaus (5 mins walk uphill). It‘s open 9:00-21:00 everyday, has an interactive exhibition about the history of the valley, and we spend some good 30 mins there with kids.
First, as everything in Switzerland - price.
Also, note that the two extra beds in the family room are located on a loft platform, accessible via a steep ladder. Although our kids loved it, we decided to move our younger one to the big bed below, as the entrance to the platform is just a hole, to which he could fall.
