Unfortunately our stay here was not great...bathroom needs major work....many ants....pools were great tho....not the best area as little within walking distance.

Great location close to restaurants with a tuk tuk... Hitel service needs work. Due to the service we ate down the street at Danny's and Amy's restaurant..

Staff was no where to be found... Service was very slow at the restaurant we chose to eat Atlanta restaurant down the road.. Across the road is Amy's place we had a great time and she booked all of our adventures. For the price it was clean but dint expect any service.

Staff were great and food was good. Pools were a bit dirty but you can use the pool from the resort next door. Room was basic and clean, but in a bit of disrepair. There was only one AC outlet in the room so had to unplug the fridge and TV to charge any phones, etc. The bed was the least comfortable of any I've slept in so far. Could feel the springs through the mattress.

No house keeping, room had a foul odor. I asked for another room but was told it was full. I later found out it wasn't. In hind sight, I should have walked away from it and the pre paid room.

For people who are looking for the Hilton, this ain't it. That said, if you're looking for a relatively cheap room (fan not a/c) then this place is ok. I've read the reviews about rudeness of the staff. My take is that the people who felt this way aren't used to the way it is in Thailand. Ko Lanta is a mellow island, not crowded like Phi Phi or Phuket. I've found that if you are relaxed and open the way the Thai people are, you'll find that the people at New Lanta Beach Bungalows are wonderful people, giving and kind beyond most people. The staff at the beach bar became good friends over the days I spent there. Even though they didn't speak much English they genuinely wanted me to be happy and have fun and even invited me out with them at night. So, the bathroom might not be the nicest and perhaps you'll have to ask for a towel but the things that really matter, the experience I had and the friends I made far outweigh any flaws in the buildings. I'll be back. They also own the place across the street, Blue Andaman, where I also stayed as the rooms were cheaper and I only had to carry my bags about fifty feet. Beach is nice at high tide, at low tide it's rocky. Great pools, scooter rentals, decent food (I recommend trying the local street vendors) and cheap drinks including "Happy Shakes" made for a nice time. Side note: try the soft shell crab at Krau Kritsia a few minutes north of the hotel just before the Irie Bar.

We booked this hotel because it was all that was available during the holidays. We stayed for three nights and we were a group of seven people. The rooms were nice; large, clean and comfortable. The location was okay, not close to anything, but we rented scooters and rode around the island into Old Town and such. The staff completely ruined our experience here. There was no communication between them and we ended up having to pay for two tours because one person had not told the other that we had to change it. We were yelled at at and told that we can't just change our minds at the last minute, when the second tour we booked was what we thought we were getting in the first place. Another man was being hassled before we came up to the counter as well, so it seemed like an ongoing issue. We stayed at two other places/locations during our time on this island and had a much better experience. Not worth the money at all.
