We loved the location, and everything that surrounds it. The food here is delicious! The massages are fabulous and the beach and views are to die for!
The accommodation is basic as expected and the bed is very comfortable. totally worth the whole experience.
Staff are so lovely and helpful, and everyone wants the best for your stay.
To anyone reading this......these are just small issues, and if sorted the 'exceptional' would be met....do not let this put you off staying at this amazing resort and experiencing something different !
We didn't like the mosquito nets. They had some large holes in them and as they are round, you tend to sleep in the middle of the large bed ( there were 2 of us ) or you get attacked by the net which becomes annoying. I suggest up grading the nets to fit around the shape of the bed. This would give a more luxurious feel and would help to relax more at night.
We also recommend getting the toilet more stable to the floor, as evertime we sat, it moved.

Close to beach
I think they tried scamming me by pulling an extra ~7% on top of the agreed amount. Still waiting for a settlement of this complaint - I truly feel scammed by the hotel.
Nails sticking from floors
Mostly non-existent wifi in my room
Mosquitoes everywhere and so many big holes in the mosquito net. Every night I was eaten alive.
Restaurant not even worth considering - go to the neighboring hotel for cheaper and better food for all meals.
Bungalows have no insulation -> so much noise
Smell of sewage every time I flushed the toilet
In general the bungalow felt very old and neglected

Nice location, many restaurants, seven eleven and coffee shops nearby. Nice beach and the place is in the forest making it cozy. Beautiful sunset. Staff was okay, they were not rude but the standard in Thailand hospitality is higher.
Breakfast costs 300 thb per person, I didn't find it worth. There are many cheaper options or better standard for the same price outside the hotel.
The sink in the bathroom smells sewage and the water was coloured. I preferred to wash my teeth with bottled water during my stay. There was an AC but it doesn't really cool the bangalo, it helps for sure and make a bigger impact during the night but during the day it doesn't really reach cooler temperatures. Cockroaches is common inside the bangalo but I understand since its not a brick made building. There is a pool but during my stay, no guests have courage to enter it, looks like sewage is growing there. There are also many nail heads poking out of the floor. I stepped on then many times. I was worried about my baby crawling around but he didn't scratch himself.

The location at the beach is really nice.
The accommodation had a severe and persistent pest infestation, with cockroaches and millipedes appearing nightly throughout our nine-day stay, including inside our baby's milk bottle, on children's toys, and even within the mosquito nets above our beds. When we reported this to the manager, he denied the problem existed, refused to offer an alternative bungalow or price reduction, and dismissed our concerns by claiming insects were unavoidable in nature. Despite pesticide treatment on day eight, the infestation worsened that night with approximately 15 insects appearing throughout the bungalow, forcing us to find and pay for alternative accommodation. There is also nothing ECO about that place. Trash-piles are lying everywhere and the flimsy bungalow constructs forces you to keep the AC running at all times.

Bed on floor. Steps to bathroom dangerous. Bar prices too expensive.

I’ve been traveling across Southeast Asia for over a decade, stayed in everything from jungle huts to five-star towers, and I can tell you this: Eco Lanta Hideaway Beach Resort hits a very rare sweet spot. Not perfect in the "polished luxury" sense, but perfect in the ways that matter, comfort, vibe, location, and heart.
First, don’t let the word hideaway fool you into thinking it’s remote or hard to reach. It's actually just 5 minutes from the heart of Lanta, but once you walk in, it’s like the noise of the world turns off. The resort is tucked into this lush, natural curve of beachfront that gives you privacy without isolation. You feel it instantly, like the place is giving you permission to breathe.
The beach? Hands down one of the best sunset spots I’ve seen in Thailand, and that’s saying something. It’s raw and stunning. No crowds. Just you, the ocean, and that magic orange-pink sky.
I read some mixed reviews before booking concerns about AC, maintenance, whatever. Honestly? None of it held up. They’ve clearly upgraded. Brand-new A/C units in all rooms, super clean bungalows, and a clear effort to care for the environment without compromising comfort.
The staff, this is where the place shines. They remember your name, ask how your day was, laugh with you. Not the robotic service you get in big chains, this is warm, Thai hospitality at its best.
Food? Delicious. And cheaper than many of the other beachfront spots nearby. Big portions, fresh flavors, and they’re happy to tweak it to your taste.
Now here’s the bit families will care about: the pool. It’s not huge, but it’s on the upper floor, surrounded by trees and sky, beautiful. And because it uses eco filtration, there’s none of that heavy chlorine smell. My friend’s kids swam in it daily, no rashes, no red eyes. That kind of detail matters.
Bottom line: If you’re coming to Koh Lanta for the real island vibe not just Instagram shots Eco Lanta gives you space, soul, and simplicity.

Our stay at Eco Lanta Resort was, without a doubt, the highlight of our holiday. If you're searching for a destination that truly embodies peace, natural beauty, and conscious travel, look no further. This is not just a place to sleep; it’s an experience that rejuvenates the soul.
From the moment we arrived, we were struck by the incredibly quiet and secluded atmosphere. The resort lives up to its name as a genuine hideaway. Tucked away from the bustling tourist spots and street noises , it truly feels like a private sanctuary. We quickly realized this location is arguably the best on Koh Lanta—offering tranquility while still providing easy access when needed. The beach itself is a highlight: a massive expanse of soft sand and beautiful water that felt wonderfully private. It was clean, calm, and perfect for long, uninterrupted morning walks.
The commitment to being ecological is evident everywhere, from the thoughtfully designed landscaping to the sustainable practices woven into their daily operations. This focus on nature fosters an incredible atmosphere—it's serene, relaxed, and deeply connected to the tropical environment. It’s the perfect antidote to city stress.
Our room felt so nice! It was meticulously clean, beautifully styled with natural materials, and instantly comfortable. The design struck a perfect balance between rustic charm and modern convenience, making it a genuine pleasure to return to each day. Finally, the staff deserve a special mention. Everyone, from the reception team to the restaurant servers, was genuinely warm, highly attentive, and professional. Their friendly service elevated our entire stay.
Don't forget to enjoy the massage on the second floor facing the ocean.
Eco Lanta Resort is more than just excellent; it is exceptional. We left feeling refreshed, restored, and already planning our return.

That it was on the beach.
There was No TV, Pool, or evening entertainment everything closed up at 6:00 pm. When we ordered food and drinks most of our choices were not available. The amenities listed were not available. There was a room safe but not usable.

I recognised a charge on my card after we left for 6489Baht. The total cost for us staying at Eco Lanta was 2000Baht which i paid by card.
When I queried the extra charge I was told they checked the cameras and I paid by cash and there was no bank card transactions that day. Obviously there was.
When booking.com queried the charge they were told we spent that amount in the restaurant.
First, we never ate in the restaurant. 2nd. it would be very hard or near impossible to spend 6500 Baht in a restaurant on Koh Lanta for 2 adults and 2 kids.
I never did get my money back.

The staff were great, location was good, room was huge. Love it.
A bit expensive but our style of accommodation. The pool was green.

Great location in beach with lovely sunsets
Free unlimited drinking water
Lots of wild life inc monitor lizards
Great massage house with lovely massages
Whilst I wanted rustic charm this was run down. Huts had holes in the walls as did the mosquito nets around the bed, they also hung so low we got tangled in them. Had to jeep bags off floors to avoid cockroaches.
Nothing eco about this as no recycling - garbage and plastics in sane bin! Lots of old tyres blocking the route in fir cars- could be replaced with something nicer!
Staff unfriendly and didn’t seem to care. Food awful so eat out!
Omens like owners don’t care and maybe don’t visit. Potential but needs a big refit

nice bamboo bungalows, quite unique experience. they are just few meters from the beach, restaurant, and massage services.
front-beach sunbeds are kept only for hotel guests. this is a great confort. you just go out from your bungaloow and in no time you are relaxing at the beach confortably!
walking along the beach you also have many more options for restaurants / beach spots. so the location is also great.
the staff was very welcoming, and we could also rent motorbike directly at the reception desk.
everything was amazing. I am not sure why some reviews mention cleanness is not good. I mean it is an Eco resort in the nature, in Thailand, how would you not expect to see some insects / flies / bugs casually during your stay - if you want that you'd rather go to the nice fancy hotel in the city :)

Location!!! Right on the beach. And Bik (staff member) was very lovely and helpful booking tours and transfers.
Air con struggled to make a big difference to room temperature so an additional fan in room would have been good.

Very relaxed place.
We felt very comfortable and happy and the beach was on our doorstep so to speak :) beds were super comfy and clean, the mosquito
net was great addition.
If you want an authentic experience in a bamboo hut this place is for you. Veranda and hammock.
I really liked it there.
Great price too.
Staff are all very helpful and pleasant and you can book tours/ ferry etc and it’s easy to hire scooters here too.
There is work being done on the pool at the moment but it will soon be finished, as it’s going to be salt water pool.
But the beach is there so who needs a pool! I didn’t really mind. Resort was closed for 3 years over covid hard for everyone so it’s being refreshed now step by step. I can’t wait to go back!

Amazing spot on Long Beach and really cool looking property with the trees and bungalows. Loved the stay the food and all drinks. Staff was super helpful setting a scooter rental, late check out and shuttle to the airport
Our AC stopped working and had to be fixed multiple times during our stay. Staff were very helpful in getting it back up and running but it was annoying.

Gorgeous bamboo huts right on the beach, hearing the waves crash from your room.
I wouldn’t recommend getting the breakfast, go elsewhere.

Beautiful and peaceful location, right on the beach. Comfy bed and easy to explore the island by scooter - rented from the manager. The natural salt water pool is cooling and inviting. Ahmed the manager was very friendly and he has 2 very beautiful dogs and a cat. He was helpful when we had a power it during a storm and helped ease my fears of flooding when the waves were huge and the tide was high.
There is some work that needs to be done to make the resort facilities back up to where they were pre-Covid, for example - restaurant and massage were not in operation. This is totally understandable - especially as I visited in the low season.

Very beautiful wooden houses in a hideaway sort of surrounding, right on the Long Beach. There is an on-site restaurant which was quite ok, but there is also so many other venues just a short beach walk away which makes the place even better. Area around the houses is nicely maintained with lots of greenery. The area outside the resort (toward the street) doesn’t offer much but you don’t really need to much anyways - we were able to book day trips, go for some western breakfast and rent scooters, otherwise we much more preferred to stay near the beach - swimming in the sea and walking along the beach.
The cabins make for a nice change to a regular hotel room, but I wouldn’t say that they were the most comfortable as the mattress was on the wooden floor and you need to take quite a bit step to get up there. I loved it as I like a change, just warning for others. We also had to sleep under the canopy as there were many mosquitos.

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at Eco Lanta Resort. It was low season when I was there so it was very quiet and calm, which is exactly what I wanted. The staff were so friendly and helpful and there was a lovely family atmosphere. If there was anything I needed I could just ask and I was well looked after. The room was comfortable, with all the amenities working properly. I spent most of my time on the balcony overlooking a beautiful view of the trees and beach, which was incredibly relaxing. A lot of thought and care has been put into Eco Lanta with a heavy use of bamboo to construct almost everything.
The only reason I moved on (after staying for 3 weeks!) was that I am currently suffering from chronic fatigue and found the steps inside the bungalow quite tiring to go up and down. This wouldn't have bothered me had I not been unwell, and I was so comfortable there in every other sense I stayed for a few weeks regardless.

The breakfast was pretty good, however not the best we had on our vacation. I prefer buffet so that I can choose what and the amount.
The staff was nice and helpful
I liked the balcony after we asked for and got a table and chairs
I will make it clear that I evaluate this related to the price we paid which was locked before we arrived. We saw that the price at the time of arrival was approximately half of that, but it was too late to change or cancel. To the reduced price I wouldn't have appointed most of these things.
I didn't like that there were large casaurina trees over most or all of the resort. The trees dropped their needles continuoussly and even though the staff tried their best to remove it, it wasted the beach in the area, it was annoying in the outside restaurant area and also other places in the resort
The cabins were quite worn and several things were not working perfectly. It looked far nicer on the pictures that were probably taken when it was new.
I understand that it might have felt apart without manitenance during the Corona period, but then it would be fear to have reduced the price.

A peaceful and laid-back atmosphere.
Located right on the beach, but a bit far from the main road so you will have to hike or get a tuk tuk if you need anything from the shops.
The restaurant is OK but a bit pricy, especially for breakfast.
The massage was great.
The swimming pool wasn't clean and we didn't see anyone get in the water.
The rooms were very nice and the manager Shadi went out of his way to help with anything we needed including car rental and day trips.
Some extra facilities for kids will go a long way. A simple playground and some beach toys could do the job.

Location is perfect with beautiful Long Beach very calm and peaceful. Breakfast is really good and staffs are friendly & helpful. We easily could just sit at the restaurant there and stare out the horizon and sunset.
Bungalows are made of bamboo, no soundproof at all. U will wake up 5am of birds singing loudly or other jungle animals sounds 😄 the beds are quite hard in my opinion. I couldn’t sleep a solid night. Also if u are afraid of big bugs, this is not there place for you. They r in toilet room running around sometimes.

The place was exactly what we wished for and needed to relax and unwind. Bamboo houses are simple yet comfortable and inviting to relax. Outside porch is equipped with cushions and hammock.. we loved small touches such as vase with water to wash sand off your feet or anti mosquito sticks. The staff is just amazing - very friendly, helpful and accommodating. They arranged for us the transfer from airport in Krabi to the hotel. We spent here 16 days and loved each of them. The restaurant is very good! We also used the massage place on site and can recommend it! Beach is wide, sandy and water clean and warm. Internet is available in the whole area. We will miss EcoLanta!
It would be great if the area around the sunbeds was cleaned off the needles and spiky cones from time to time.

The location (on long beach), the staff and managers were very nice, the food in the
restaurant was amazing. The truth is, it isn’t perfect, I believe it’s slowly getting back on its feet after covid. The staff are working really hard to improve the place and give good service. We stayed in a brand new pod (which was great) there were a few teething problems which management took care of and when the problems continued they moved us into another pod. I sincerely hope this resort becomes fully occupied so they get to where they want to be.
Pool was out of action.
No bin in room.
Little untidy around the sun lounges.
8.0 / 10.0
good location on the Long Beach, a bit seperated from the main action.next door is a medium sized luxury resort, but it’s tucked away and not really disturbing the laid back atmosphere of this place.
most bungalows are lined up with the only entrance dust road to the hotel, so rather facing the ocean you get to know every scooter going in and out, but there was little traffic at all. the restaurant is a few footsteps from the water shaded by giant trees.
the bungalows are really spacious and the verandas are a great hangout place. that said you will face your neighbor from the terrace rather than nature or the sea.
they build a rather large ‚pool‘, (more a giant plastic pond. at the time visiting it was unusable as the water turned brackish and was full of leaves. I saw nobody venturing in.
they could easily increase the sleeping comfort by a factor of two if they would install proper 4 poster mosquito nets. the one they have are tent like, way to small for the bed size and reduce a queen sized bed to a towel square of usable bedspace. if you touch the net at night you are a very welcome blood source.
