Great location, well looked after cosy hotel with all required amenities

Everything was perfect! The hotel is right on the beach, the place is surrounded by large trees, so there’s plenty of shade. It’s relatively small, so doesn’t get too busy. The hotel is looked after meticulously. The staff were super friendly. It was also nice that we can just book food, massages and anything extra to our room, so did not need to carry a wallet full of cash. Also, there’s a dive shop, so easy to go diving if you want to. 7-eleven and number of good local restaurants is just couple of minutes walk away. The beach is also very shallow (much shallower than the north side of the same beach), so very good with small children.

On a windy night, fruit from one of the large trees kept on falling on the tin roof of our bungalow, which sounded like a balloon exploding, and that kept on waking my daughter up, so we had to deal with a grumpy toddler the next day.

Nice hotel, room comfortable. Dining options were good, nice to have the choice of tex mex breakfast.

Apart from the constant rain! Our only negative was our room had an interconnecting door to the next cabin, the guests were incredibly loud and there was limited sound proofing.

Get a scooter

Beautiful property and gardens. Staff were friendly and helpful. Beds were comfortable and the A/C was nice and cool.

Smells would hit when outside. Not always but they'd pop up and...bam!! The breakfast was a bit blah. And only allowed 1 regular cup of coffee with the included meal. The restaurant food was not very good, I think the oil made me ill. Also, I think pricing has received a western influence and I just didn't see the value (in the meals). Many places were walkable but highly recommend a scooter.

Beautiful location, lovely place to stay

Small resort, clean, nice grounds, restaurant and bar on site. Good food. Breakfast included. Happy hour every night. Room cleaning was done well. Reception staff excellent. We didn’t try the massages on the beach but they were available. It was a really lovely small place, other restaurants and convenience stores within short walk. A great place that we would return to.

Having to pay cash for all excursions was unexpected so we had to hit the ATM. But maybe that’s a feature of how much we rely on credit cards for everything at home. Can’t really fault this place. No swimming pool but the beach is on your doorstep.

Best place to stay in Lanta!

The resort is excellent. We were impressed from the time we arrived. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Lots of facilities, including massages, beach bar, etc. The rooms are very comfy and clean, plus it is only a short walk to the beach that is clean and well maintained. Location is also great with lots of amenities within a short walking distance. Will definitely be back.

A lovely property with very kind and helpful staff. The resort has beautiful gardens throughout, and the beachfront area had a nice mix of shade and sun. The restaurant and beachfront area bar were both excellent and a terrific value. A wonderful place to stay in an amazing location. I can’t wait to come back!

Dream Come True

Castaway is the perfect beach getaway for anyone looking to unplug from the busyness and noise of other Thai destinations. Impeccable bedrooms, beach front, delicious food, fantastic service, all for an affordable price. We were here during low season (early October). Really quiet -- maybe 12 guests max? Fantastic location on Long Beach. Loved it here!

Beach and bungalows in paradise

Lanta Castaway was one of the best resorts we've ever stayed at! From the moment we stepped on to the property, we were surrounded by a veritable jungle: huge tropical plants, palm trees and so many plants and trees I've never seen before. It contributed to a series of bungalows that are completely encased in vegetation, so that even though the bungalows are fairly close together, you're in your own world. Super private. Also, the rooms are comfortable, with free water and daily cleanings. The location of Lanta Castaway was also perfect: on a small, secluded beach, where you can easily spend the day sitting at the restaurant or beach-side bar, watching the waves and enjoying the sun and a calm, virtually-private beach. And, if you're working, the fast wifi works at the beach-side tables; a real plus. The restaurant at Lanta Castaway is fantastic, with not only great Thai dishes, but also delicious burgers, quesadillas and chicken wings. And there are several really excellent restaurants nearby, both on the beach and on the street outside the resort. Breakfast was included with our room, and we had our choice of a lovely menu that included amazing Thai breakfasts and Western breakfasts from American dishes to Mexican. Even though you might be tempted to get a standard Western breakfast, I would definitely recommend the Thai breakfasts - which they will gladly adapt to your preferred taste and spice level. And all served by the best, friendliest staff - even though I'm not a morning person, breakfast at Lanta Castaway was the best way to start the day. With all of this, the staff at Lanta Castaway was the best part of this beautiful little resort. Everyone was so friendly, and really went out of their way to say hello, and to familiarize themselves with what we've ordered. We stayed three weeks, and every day was like a little day in paradise. Thank you, Lanta Castaway, for an amazing experience on Koh Lanta!

This resort is outstanding. By far the best that we have stay ed in since coming to Thailand 5 weeks ago. The attention to detail in the beautifully decorated rooms is exceptional, the stunning well tended gardens and the friendly staff as well as the delicious meals in the restaurant make this a place we cannot recommend enough. We booked for 3 nights and stayed for 6.

The beach can become quite littered as result of the waves but there are volunteers who clean Long Beach on Sundays. It would be great if the different resorts could get together and appoint people to pick up the plastc bottles etc daily.

I highly recommend Castaway Beach Resort

I had my own bungalow which was amazing and cozy. There was a lot of storage space in the room and the bed was comfortable. Cleaning stuff were professional. The shower worked very well. There were mosquito nets on the doors and windows which was very practical because there were a lot of mosquitoes in the evenings. The beach was next to the hotel and had easy access to swim and beautiful sunsets. The hotel had its own sun beds reserved only for customers. Extra points for the beautiful well-kept garden. The restaurant was next to the beach and the breakfast (which was served to tables) and other food and drink menu was really good and lot of choises. Ladies who served the breakfast were very sweet. Also there was 7eleven and restaurants nearby. I recommend the hotel especially for couples, solo travelers and those traveling with friends who likes small, cozy hotels where all the details have been thought out.

What a great place! The property has everything you need, whilst not being too big. Nice bungalow, enough closet space, bar + restaurant, massage and diving/snorkeling activities on site.
