Overall good hotel. The pool was freezing which i know kids dont mind, but but not enjoyable for the adults to engage long term with kids in there. The elevators require your room key to access the rooms, which is fine but when we needed a luggage cart they required photo id. Im taking it the room which i need my key for

The room was sizeable (living room pullout couch, separate king bedroom) and clean. There were several windows (that did not open), and the blackout curtains worked like a chap. There seemed to be no air circulation, though there was a thermostat that kept the temperature at a consistent moderate temp (we tried to turn it down at night, but did not notice a difference). The room was absolutely silent at night; which is great if you like that, awful if you need noise (which we do). The pool was awesome for the kids though the hot tub was continuously overrun by small children. We did not use the casino itself, so can't speak to the gambling scene. They hotel had a small shop that had both gifts and overpriced necessitates (sweatshirts, deodorant, etc.). The only "family friendly" food options were in the casino itself, where those under 18 cannot enter, so we had to "take out" or eat out of the hotel. The hotel is close to lots of other things, though, so not an issue. We LOVED that it is right across the way from the SkyTrain (amazing public transport, if you're unfamiliar)- will definitely use that again, if nothing else. We didn't interact with many staff; the few we did were pleasant. Saw a heron and a beaver right next to the hotel in the small pond/estuary area. We'd stay again, for the right price, for the pool for the kids, and the access to the SkyTrain.

This is our second Christmas staying at the River Rock. We are native Vancouverites that retired to the Okanagan. Our family are all in the Lower Mainland so we come down for Christmas. The hotel is centrally located. Very comfortable and friendly as well as. Pet friendly. We will be back next Christmas.

There was no quiet and comfortable lounge. The quieter lounge was more like a diner with hard wooden chairs and basic dining tables. the more comfortable lounge was in the noisy casino. it is not a resort to relax at. the pool was located in the other building across the road.... a bit cold to walk around in swim wear. Could hear the sky train and people walking down the hall ways. rooms were spacious and clean with comfortable beds but only one relaxing chair to sit in - in the room. there is no real day time dining restaurant only a food court in the casino.

The grand lobby was beautifully decorated and the staff were very friendly. The rooms were slightly dated but clean, and it was fun having the casino right there, even though we’re not big gamblers.

Well the main thing that stood out was an unexpected “resort charge” which was not listed anywhere on Hotels.com nor was it mentioned when I arrived. From my research bill c-59 states hotels are not allowed to hide such fees anymore. I sill be contacting the better business bureau.
