Marpole Guest House

The owner was readily available to talk to us. She warmly welcomed us. She gave us a lot of information about the area. The space was very clean and comfortable.

The carpet is clean but stained on stairs. Nothing else negative.

Lovely place, nice people, helpful and provided above and beyond what we expected. So lucky to have found it.

Price was reasonable (comparably speaking to hotels in the area) and we were in a pinch for relatively last minute accommodations. Staff (the owner I believe) was nice and friendly upon arrival and departure. The room was clean and we had our own ensuite bathroom. Seemed like a fairly safe neighbourhood, though parking on the street seems to be at a premium.

It’s a shared 3 bedroom guesthouse, so if the other guests are noisy and you can’t sleep thru a train wreck, you’ll probably want to find something else. We did not get that good of a nights sleep due to the constant door closings with other guests getting up in the night and going to their shared bathroom. The shutters were broken on the window, which didn’t allow us to block out the setting sun (we were ahead by 3 hrs travelling from our time zone so we’re quite tired and wanted to get to sleep). If you can’t carry your luggage up to the second floor, then you will have a problem.
