This beautifully restored Victorian townhouse with it’s fine period features is set in the heart of York. The famous York Minster is a 2 minute walk away along with a selection of fine restaurants, designer / gift shops and pubs within a few metres.
Nearby Millers Yard (10metres) is a centre for positive living, offering treatment rooms for health and beauty and complementary therapies. High Heels can easily be worn at Minster Bells as the bars/restaurants are on your doorstep. In fact the house is closer to town than the actual car parks. Minster Bells is also ideal for family holidays, it is close to the art gallery, the National Railway Museum transfer terminal, Theatre Royal and Bootham Bar (with access to the walled walk). Bootham Bar leads you into the famous narrow cobbled streets full of a quirky mix of curio shops and cafes with street entertainers, the Shambles, museums, the Yorvik Viking centre and so much more within a short distance.

Good communication from host.Amazing central location and directions and how to find garage were very helpful.House is lovely, in December there was a definite change in temperature between 2nd and 3rd floor so bit on chilly side.Could do with couple more dishes to cook for large numbers but generally everything we neede in kitchen

We had a wonderful stay at 33 Gillygate! The location was perfect — close to mention nearby attractions making it easy to explore the area. The house was exactly as described: clean, cozy, and well-equipped with everything we needed for a comfortable stay. Janet was an excellent host — very responsive, friendly, and helpful with local tips and recommendations. Check-in and check-out were smooth and hassle-free.

The owner of the property was extremely helpful and happy to help if/when needed. The property is in reasonable order but would benefit from a refresh in terms of decor, fixtures and fittings eg improve lighting in 1st floor bathroom, install power shower to compensate for poor water pressure. Being able to park securely was a major bonus.
