Staff super helpful when air con didn’t work, moved me to another room straight away. All good except breakfast, chef didn’t want fry eggs & only provided scrambled. Food wasn’t replenished & people had to keep asking when items ran out. Needs someone on top of this to watch for items running low & replenish. I ate there in an evening & service was good and food really enjoyable.

Considering I stayed at this property 2 years ago for download festival when it was a different company, the price increased by over £200 for the 4 nights, and the hotel was still under construction and we didn't get our rooms turned over once. Stings knowing we were paying prices for a higher standard hotel experience for essentially a premier inn

The receptionist was very grumpy on our arrival and anything i asked was met with a negative attitude, so much so my college commented on this to me that he got the same feeling. We have a corporate account with the hotel, yet when i asked things about this, again i got a negative attitude and felt as thou i shouldn't ask. When i got to my room - i felt the look of the bed and bedding was cheap and uninviting, and it felt as it looked. Also i appreciate the restaurant / bar area is being changed, but the whole place look so uninviting and during breakfast my table was sticky and both my cutlery and napkin was sticking to the surface. it looked clean but it clearly wasnt clean

It was booked for a client, she said the showers were amazing, buffet breakfast was really nice and it was very clean. Food needed a bit more zip to the evening meal, and was shocked to be paying parking, as was I. biggest problem was travellers rolling suitcases at 2 am, I will use again but I'll ask for end of coridor room

Close to the train station which was good, but arriving late on a Saturday evening alone, I didn't feel massively safe walking from the station to the hotel on my own as there were a considerable number of intoxicated people getting off the train at Derby as well.

- Air flow wasnt working in the room so the room was cold. - Was moved to a different room. - TV wasn't working properly. Paid quite a lot for stuff that didn't work. Would like a fraction of what I paid to be refunded due to things not functioning as they should be.

This hotel is being refurbished until June 2025. My room was so noisy during the day and it was bad enough that I left a day early. I went to the reception desk to ask for another room in the hope I’d get something quieter and was told it was pretty much the same throughout the hotel. They asked a manager to come and check to see if there was a room he thought wouldn’t be affected, but the manager couldn’t be bothered to join us. I’ve always enjoyed staying here and have been a regular customer for years. I’ve always been happy here, but I wouldn’t consider going back until the refurbishment is complete.
