The bathroom was old dated mould around the bath toilet didn't flush properly and the bath took ages to empty

Arrived to find a quite full car park, although found parking. Went to check in and found water to be dripping through a light fitting directly above the desk. Staff had placed a napkin under the drip!? The entrance area looks nice, maybe alittle dated now (glass lift not working!) We paid for an upgrade from a standard double to and executive double so had quite big expectations. We were extremely disappointed and actually feel that it was a downgrade. When we stayed here before (7 yrs ago) we had a lovely standard double. The spa area didn't seem clean, we stayed for 30 mins as the pool was cold, when we told staff they agreed that standards had definitely slipped. We found breakfast to be underwhelming also, everything was cold. I understand that using chaffing dishes has its issues and having to move food from the kitchen area to a function room (restaurant closed) can also present issues, but even still i would have liked a hot breakfast. The toaster wasn't hot enough so had to send the bread through twice. We ate and left back to our room to pack before leaving. We spoke to the staff member, Charlotte, on the desk as we checked out and expressed our issues and frustrations. She listened and apologised, giving our upgrade fee back. At no point during our stay did we feel welcome by the staff, when we told them our frustrations they simply agreed that the hotel is well below standards. The website shows beautiful rooms and facilities, however this is no longer the case. We left extremely upset that our, hopefully, romantic getaway was the opposite 😢 😔 😞 This hotel is very clearly not a 4* accommodation and needs alot of work. We probably wont return to this hotel again.

We had to change rooms as the first room was so noisy. The bathroom door would not Close and you could hear a noise like a fan and vibrating.

Clean and had the basics of what we needed for our stay. Breakfast quality good but served in conference room. Bed comfy and linen clean.

Pool closed, although advertised on the website it wasn't actually advertised at the date we booked. Asked whether an upgrade could be provided but was declined despite my friend being offered an upgrade on their arrival. Restaurant also closed as under refurbishment. Room very basic and only one towel provided. No hairdryer either.

Staff were welcoming, room was pleasant and clean. We have stayed in this hotel previously.

From 2.30 to 5 am we did not sleep due to other guests knocking on doors, talking and shouting loudly and even racing each other down the corridor. Discussed it with the duty manger in the morning and learnt that guests had booked in last minute due to a rave across the road. They had complete disregard for other guests. Not really the hotels fault but meant our stay was rather sleep deprived. Hotel needs to manage this type of guest in the future.
