Big spacious room and the staff were very friendly and helpful
The bathroom was filthy shower and sink was full of hairs and the underside of the toilet seat covered in feces and was very noisy as we were by the main road

Room was nice, there was wear and tear but nothing to bad.
Bed was comfy, shower a little difficult to get right but thats the shower not the hotel, good when I got it to where I wanted
Nothing really good for price and would stay again

Mr grundy’s down stairs was good atmosphere, warm and friendly.
Food was excellent.
Room was cold and could do with some working bedside lights and sockets.

Bed great. Very extravagant. Lovely room despite being run down. Lots of character. Telly, tea and coffee. All good
Tea spoons dirty - had to wash them
Bedding smelt of aftershave - sheet under duvet instead of bedding change
One wobbly socket for whole room. Not sure fixed wiring test would pass this!
Sarcastic landlady

Very friendly reception on arrival. Staff have a great relaxed and warm style. It is quirky in a good way. Really good beer on tap.

The price. Last minute booking availability. Bed linen was clean.
You get what you pay for.
Strong, stale cigarette smoke in the room, floor not been vacuumed. Broken seat back left on the end of the bed with spikes sticking up. Poor shower. Curtains not properly hung so huge gaps with bright lights shining in.
Very old, tired and dated.

Simon on front desk was really welcoming and accommodating especially with our dog. Room was beautiful too and the bed was very comfy. Great location and the pub seemed busy but did not disturb us. Electric charging in the car park is fast.
There was only one towel for our room, there was body hair in the shower, the wifi password didn’t work and the heating was only briefly on so it was very cold! The staff were wonderful when we first arrived so I am sure these would have been rectified were we staying for more than one night.

Poor shower. Decor slightly tired.

Last minute booking as we went to a gig at The Vaillant.
The room was lovely albeit a little chilly at night and would have preferred a back room .
But all in all quite a magical night (obviously seeing to The Levellers contributed to the magic )
I loved the other rooms and the quirky Fawlty Tower reception.would definitely book again.
Met our requirements for that night so nothing really

Lovely Georgian property with lots of character. Location and cleanliness was good for the purposes of my stay. Landlady was extremely welcoming, accommodating and friendly. She even opened the kitchen earlier to make breakfast.
As pleasant as the property is I wouldn’t class this as a Hotel as the room was lacking in what would be expected. For example: No information about the hotel/rooms /area and no hairdryer although there was tea/coffee making facilities.

The rooms have nice period furniture.
The shower was cold and the hot tap didnt work at all. All in all a very cold start to the day.
On check out no Management was onsite so I left my number at reception asking for a call, yet to receive one.

Old fashioned hotel, rather tired in places but with a lot of charm and very helpful staff
A bit old fashioned and in some areas slightly tired but that was part of the charm

Lovely old Georgian House. Lots of authentic wood panelling. The pub side was great. Great atmosphere and nice food. Would definitely stay here again. A great bonus is the on site free parking and EV charging.
Some things a little 'tired' but nothing to spoil our stay.

Location was round the corner from where my son lives and a 20 min walk into city centre
I thought it was expensive compared to Premier Inn for example, I chose it for location. Bed was very creaky and uncomfortable, I woke up a few times during night because of this

It was tired and in need of total refurbishment the tv didn’t work the beds needed replacing as did the bedding and pillows. The bathroom was clean but very dated the doors all squeaked.

Not much. :-(
There is a function room which was DIRECTLY outside our window, which was hosting a 50th birthday party when we stayed. The noise started at 19:00 and went on past midnight. The only good aspect was that we were attending an event elsewhere and got back around 23:00, so we didn't have to listen to it all night.
In the bathroom, someone's whiskers were in the sink. There was a warning notice about not flushing sanitary products and condoms(!!) down the toilet and use the bin provided. The only bin was in the living area, so would not be ideal if guests needed to heed the warning.
The room had a musty smell (probably due to all the wood within the room), but there was dust everywhere. We found a dead moth in the single bed. The kettle was disgusting so we didn't even make a coffee or tea. The furniture was old and shabby with a door fallen off the bedside cupboard.
We were attracted to this hotel because of the quirky four-poster beds - in hindsight it was a bit of a mistake.

Breakfast was superb and really well presented. Lovely home cooked. The bathroom was exceptionally good. New fittings and sanitary warehouse. Superbly decorated and spotless.
Check in took a while as the member of staff disappeared without explaining he was sorting out another client. It took over 20 minutes to come back. The bedroom was tired and in need of redecorating and a deep clean.

Ease of getting to town
Pubes in the shower. Dirty carpet. Booked a 4 poster bed got a creaky smelly room

This is a one of a kind hotel attached to a proper pub. This family owned and run establishment is an absolute delight and their attention to their guests is superb. It is an old building and it is on a main road it is however very clean and inviting and is the antidote to soul-less modern chain hotels. The food is good and excellent value and the Pizza is on another level. Thanks to all for my stay.

It’s a nice building.
I bit tired in places, perhaps others may say characterful.
AC would have been nice, but probably not practical with the building age.

We loved the homeliness and eccentric quirkiness of this hotel. We booked 2 rooms to accommodate family members. The four poster room was beautiful, clean and seemed to have been recently refurbished.
The food in the pub was generous and very tasty and the breakfast was beautifully cooked and filling, setting us up for the day.
The best thing about this hotel is the manager, Karen, who could not have been more helpful. She was incredibly hospital and willing to accommodate our every need. Overall, we had a lovely overnight stay at the Georgian House Hotel
The family room was cramped, tatty and poorly laid out - desperately in need of a makeover. There was no wardrobe, only a cupboard, although coat hangers were provided to hang things off the outside of the cupboard.
There was a lot of light coming into the room which made it difficult to sleep.
That said, we were comfortable enough for one night.
Not for those who seek modern decor and amenities!

It was nice with very friendly staff and quirky
Frayed carpets on the hallway slightly dirty in the room very over priced breakfast it definitely wasn’t worth £15 especially as I paid £95 for the room which was also way overpriced four poster bed looked like it was ready to fall apart at the top the list could go on

Beautiful. Wood panelling, artistic furniture, excellent food. Quintessentially English.
The double bed was a bit small for my 6’ 6” husband.
