Reasonable stay for 2 nights in a convenient location for us.

Friendly staff, good location, fairly basic but plentiful breakfast included but upgrade to a good cooked breakfast available for £7.50.

Brilliant, I will be back

The staff were lovely, the room was perfect for me and my dog, I was able to park right outside the room. The location of the hotel was ideal as we were visiting my daughter and granddaughter in Burton.

The shower was a bit iffy, red hot or cold nothing in between.

Good sized room, nice breakfast. Staff stayed extra long on site to allow for my late arrival, which was very kind

soundproofing was not great, so could hear everything going on outside.

Apart from the room heating the hotel and staff was of a good standard.

Breakfast was continental style and suitable, appropriate and plentiful. Downside was the service was slow when things needed replenishing. Dining area clean and spacious.

Due to the time of year the room was very cold due to the fact that the thermostat controlling the radiator did not work. Made the room unpleasant throughput the night.

Absolute gem

I stay here every week and it's a gem of a place. I stay away with work a lot and I'm fed up with premier Inn and Travelodge hotels as too expensive. Great value for money, fantastic service, great rooms. Feel safe as a lone female and the food is outstanding.

The food in the pub was excellent. Staff very friendly.

The rooms are very tired. I had what looked like an old air conditioning unit in the back wall and when it rained it made the loudest, most horrendous noise! Unfortunately it rained each night for a couple of hours! I didn’t feel safe at night at all…the rooms back straight onto the car park, which is great when you have dogs with you. However at 1am each night the noise outside from car engines and music and people fighting was awful. Shouting and screaming and even banging on my door at one point!

Well worth money and hopefully will return if passing in future, even just for food

fact continental breakfast was included, I did upgrade to "Full English" for £7.50, which by today's standards fair. Excellent bar and choice of drinks, bar food very good and reasonable, Bar was very "Lively" Staff all very helpful and pleasant. Good situation just off main road (A38?) Good sized room and plenty coffee/tea and biscuits

Very nice and polite staff, very easy check in, very easy to use door entry too motel style accommodation. Really lovely complimentary tray including hot chocolate plenty of coffee sachets /milk and biscuits. Bathroom very clean and shower area plenty of towels. Very nice heater on the wall in bathroom with 2 settings, really good wall heated radiator with dial setting. Television was excellent easy to use with teletext= don't normally get that these days!. All in all very pleasantly surprised very good value for money.

The way the entrance and layout is regarding parking -can i imagine and it happened while i was there . the car park near the top end gets very full . and not alot of space to turn round, there was a live music event on from 9pm till late and most people were coming to attend that, I unfortunately couldn't stay overnight due to work commitments, so i got stuck in the car park, and a kind gentleman backed his car all the way down so i could leave. I cant comment on the breakfast as i didnt stay for it. My main problem was around 4 pm when i was resting in the lodge and young children were running and shouting outside all the lodges in the car park area, I know it is a family friendly place but consideration for guests has to come into the equation. The management need to sort out the car park better , even if they have to restrict sale of tickets at there live events

Delighted with everything. A pleasant surprise.

We enjoyed our room which was both comfortable and spacious with good facilities including a lounge equipped with desk, sofa, armchair and large wall mounted TV. The hotel restaurant offers a good menu and is pleasantly decorated. The staff are all friendly, polite and attentive. All in all an excellent stay. Thank you.

The room was extremely well presented, very clean, the perfect temperature and most all really quiet.

The restaurant was closed at 7.15 pm, which was just around the time I was checking in.

Outstanding value for money and home from home

I stay away with work for at least 3 nights per week and I am fed up with Premier Inn/Travellodge and the prices are too high. I chose this as an alternative as the reviews were good and felt safe as a lone traveller. The property exceeded my expectations. The food for evening meal was outstandingly good and I had lasagne one night and pie the next night, all home made. The bar service on each night was excellent and breakfast was a perfect continental offering. The room itself was self contained, well lit, heated and had all the facilities you would need. I will definitely be returning regularly.

Ok, but needs alot of work.

The two story apartment is a great idea. The night staff was amazing at sorting out an anti social issue in the car park at 1am. Breakfast was delicious.

TV is only down stairs. Any other hotel has a TV in the bedroom. The sky light window had to be propped open with a bible. A gathering of people at 1am in the car park smoking weed and drinking being loud is not what I wanted.

However this time I was let down by the fact the bathroom had not been cleaned and the towels were dirty and no toilet paper in the bathroom. I paid £80 for 1 night, and thought this was extremely high for what we received

Full English breakfast was excellent. Bed and room very comfortable with windows that open for fresh air which is something quite rare in many hotels. The staff are very helpful, friendly and professional. Thanks for a comfortable stay.

There is nothing we didn't like although probably a lick of paint in the bedroom and bathroom would be good. There is a bit of traffic noise but we accept it because of the location and a small hotel car park. For the continental breakfast I would recommend adding some cheese and fruit and natural yoghurt to the menu for a true continental breakfast.

Ideal for a long weekend close to Derby and with easy access to the A38, A50 and M!

Clean and comfortable rooms in a semi rural location on the edge of Derby, close to the A38 and a fifteen minute drive from the town centre. An excellent bar and restaurant. Continental breakfast, with cooked breakfast options at the weekend. Staff are friendly and helpful. An excellent carvery on a Sunday.

Can occasionally be a little noisy late on a Saturday as it is also hosts parties.

Very good. Very close to Toyota, which was the purpose of my stay. I will stay again.

I arrived late and when I got to my room, I could not find access to the WiFi code. Where was it? And the Breakfast start time of 7:30 was a bit late as I had to be at Toyota for 8am. I think a 7:00 start would have been better for me, but that was not a big issue.

Apart from the noise problem this was a very acceptable place to stay.

Breakfast was good. We prefer a king-size bed, but I don't remember now what size the bed was. There was parking for our cat right outside our room.

Sleep was disturbed by other guests being noisy outside our room. All bedrooms open to outdoors & people stood around laughing & talking loudly into the early hours of the morning. There were also dogs barking in the night.
