Parking is not near the hotel

Nice room. Comfortable bed. Shower over bath worked well. Central location.

Long walk to nearest car park with all my stuff. Was advertised as having car parking on Booking.com but they don’t have one. £8 per day on top of a pricey stay. Took my eating business elsewhere because they’d had enough out of me.

Excellent option for a visit to Derby

The Breakfast buffet was excellent and the staff super attentive. We had a room facing an internal courtyard which meant the room was very quiet, despite the city centre location.

Outstanding hotel and staff.

The hotel was clean, in a great location. All the staff were extremely polite and helpful. I will not pick one as they were all excellent. The food was great and good value for money. The breakfast was perfect, just the right amount of choice and all cooked perfectly. The stay was that good that we have booked to return in December.

Excellent staff, comfortable beds

Warm welcome from the team at the reception, assisting with luggage and check in while partner went to park the car at the recommended ‘discounted’ car park. Lift access to the room with disabled facilities and easy wheelchair accessible turn space ( huge!)Comfortable beds and heating controls. Quiet room with tea and coffee , kettle and fridge

The discount code did not work for the car park. This cost more than £15.00, not the £8.00 as advised. Small drop off area at the front of the hotel was very busy and as a disabled person, it was very difficult to get a safe place for my partner to drop me off with the luggage and wheelchair,( no disabled drop off zone). We didn’t eat at the restaurant.

No where to park for the hotel and was a struggle to get in the loading bay. We seemed to have a room at the very end of the hotel, which all combined after a really long day of travelling etc did not help to relax us!

Great location. Room spacious. We got to check in before 2pm which was brilliant. The staff are really friendly. Hotel is great for the price.

Pushy on one night asking us did we want food a few times when we hadn't asked for food, different people asking us. It was so pushy it was off putting so we shortly left after the 4th time of being asked for food. Room keys had to be re-activated a few times. Had an issue with the recommended taxi crowd but found a local one easy for the return journey

A very comfortable room, excellant choice for breakfast and very friendly staff

If you wanted something close to the city / shops it was best positioned.

No car park, although there are two close by. The best, for us, was the NCP car park on Siddal Lane. 4.95 for 24 hours. This car park allows for multiple entries and was just a few minutes walk away.

Lovely clean, quiet and spacious hotel accommodation in the city of Derby. Me and some others were there for an event in the area, would stay here again. All staff were very polite, friendly and were ready to be of service if me or my group needed anything.

The property was undergoing construction in the ground floor lobby, so was a bit confusing finding reception. Beds could be comfier.

Really friendly check-in staff and managers, good potential and renovations look to be promising.

Cleanliness was some of the worst that I've seen at a major hotel. Black mold in the bathroom through was really concerning, as well as scratches, dirt, unclean sheets, and many other minor issues which all in all gave me very little faith in the pride taken in looking after the hotel.

1 person let this place down.

Great location, air conditioning in room, great breakfast service until 11am. Modern room decor and furnishings. Including fridge. Without the rude barman both the overall stay and staff would have scored excellent. I'm sorry for the rest of the staff who without exception were very friendly and polite.

Josh on the bar, we were group 4, went in 10.45 placed 1 drink order, other couple then asked for same again order which he didn't want to serve us. We pushed him too as it was not yet 11pm. He had a terrible attitude, and distinct body odour. He then served a half measure of Sabucca, as it was all that was in the bottle, and charged for it at full measure price. When the night porter took over drink service he was so much friendlier. Even served us small bit of wine extra as was end of bottle. Following night we asked reception staff if we could eat our takeaway in the bar while having drink, she said we could. Josh then came over loudly said we had to leave, we explained we had asked first, he went to speak to receptionist came back and said "she is being dealt with she's new, you have to leave. He was rude, loud and very unprofessional. We left, and would have done so much more happily if he had a better way of doing and saying things. Noting the Casino next door on our departure that is where we will be having our end of the night drinks next time.

Okay, biggest problem was the smell.

Good location, room was disappointing this time though.

Room had a very strange smell, had to buy air freshener from the corner shop over the road. And the “city view” was not nearly as good as the last time I stayed. Breakfast was poor, had it delivered to the room, wish I hadn’t bothered.

Excellent staff and good food, nice lounge.

Cleanliness of the room, not cleaned properly as the was crisps remaining underneath the bed which should have been cleaned. After being cleaned found more crisps and food crumbs underneath the bed. We had a accessible room, the clothes rail need a person over 6 foot tall to reach, someone in wheelchair would be impossible. Shelves in the room was extremely high.

Overall a lovely stay in a great location. Very dog friendly and lovely staff.

Great location 15 minutes walk from the train station and 5 minutes walk to the shops. We took our dog with us and found it exceptionally dog friendly (they even have treats on reception for the dogs). The staff are all lovely and very accommodating. Breakfast on both days was great and we were able to eat in the lounge area opposite the restaurant with the dog.

The room was very hot as the air conditioning temperature wouldn’t go below 18 degrees and when it did come on it barely blew any cold air out. We could have the window open but, as we were on the road side of the hotel, it was very noisy. It was very hot both nights we stayed so wish we could’ve turned the room temperature down.

Room was too warm and couldn’t turn heating down. Could’ve complained but we were attending a function and had to rush. There were some renovations going on in the foyer which didn’t make for a brilliant welcome but the reception (on the fourth floor) was fine. Otherwise a lovely stay. Would advise you to use Just Park and book parking elsewhere as it’s much cheaper.

When you put the post code in to find the place it takes you to the bus station and through a bus only lane (waiting for a ticket) The parking is in the local shopping centre a 4/5 min walk away The hotel were unable to code the room keys so was unable to use the lift and had too get staff to let us in every time we left the room They said there was a discount on parking if we registered our car which we did The parking should have been £15:80 we were charged £15:70? No USB charging sockets in the rooms had to buy a plug (as none behind reception) to stop phones going ‘dead’ The hotel is undergoing building work.
