Room was clean and comfortable, one minor gripe was no plug in the sink. Only one lift working, not a big issue at non-peak times but with 9 floors really could do with 2 lifts. Reception advised me to park in the adjacent NCP car par which was half the price of the hotel car park. Didn't have breakfast but had a decent pizza in the evening.

Hotel was nice and clean but a little run down in some of the communal areas. Staff were lovely and helped us with any queeries we have. Room was nice and bed massive, although its 2 singles pushed together. Room was spotlessly clean. The big downside was how hot it was in the room and through the night. There was a fan provided and this did help a little, but the room could do with aircon. Also all the room doors could do with closers added to them as they are heavy and slam shut very loudly. This woke us up several times. Overall though, for the price we paid the hotel was acceptable and I would stay again. Shout out to the friendly reception staff. It makes all the difference.

Avoid - Avoid - Avoid!! Disgusting customer service - Have no understanding of policy and claim different to what is stated on website , terms and conditions ect. Wouldn’t allow 18,17 year old to check in.. However following a request for a manager suddenly their decision changed and allowed this. Room was hot in addition to a non working bulb in the bathroom and sticky handprints. Avoid..

Location was very convenient to Ponds Forge. We had a superior king and the room was really spacious and clean. Bed was comfortable and the breakfast was average. Only downside was the heat in the room and floor in general (9th). Without the fun there is no way we could’ve slept in that room.

My young child found a bottle of l**e in between the twin beds in our room on our second morning. Extra concerning being on the second morning as either the cleaning standard is so terribly low that this was missed not only when changing the room over from the previous guest but also on the previous day of our stay, or that someone in the hotel was using this room for dubious purposes during our stay. Otherwise hotel was very average, worn but adequate. Staff were all helpful.

TV did not work. When I questioned this in the morning they said they knew this as all the TVs were not working. They should have said on arrival as I spent 30 minutes trying to fix it. I stayed for 3 nights and 3 breakfasts. First morning we went for breakfast at 9.30am and there was no food. We asked where was the cooked food. They said they would cook some. There was also a sign saying you could order any eggs you like. We ordered poached. They came out with the white all over the place and the yolk solid. The eggs were full of water, they were so wet it made the toast soggy. At 09.50am they brought out some bacon to our table it was streaky, no full rashers. I apologised that I don't eat streaky and asked if they have full rashers to which I got a no. The member of staff went away. We sat waiting for sausages but they never came. We asked where they were and was told its now 10am and breakfast has stopped. I pointed out we informed them there was no food at 9.30am. We left it and informed we would be down at the same time on Sunday and could they ensure there is cooked food. Sunday came and it was even worse. The waitress from the day before was now in the kitchen cooking. There was no milk, yoghurt, cooked food and when I asked for fried egg I was told there was no egg options today due to busyness. People were complaining saying they had paid £15 for no breakfast. It was a complete mess. Management fault not staff who did their best.

The hotel staff were friendly but often gave contradictory information, particularly about parking. We ended up parking in the NCP carpark next door which was very cheap and convenient. The room was satisfactory apart from the excessive heat. They did provide a fan but it didn't do much to cool the room. The whole hotel was old and rundown. Outside the hotel was worse it was a derelict building site. Breakfast was okay but not great for the money we paid

Limited parking at the venue , which we were told in checkin that all spaces were taken and the other nearest option was closed at our time of arrival. We asked for two rooms together on upper floors but were allocated rooms on different floors. We asked for a change and was shows. A room which had no ventilation bad carpet and had cigarette smoke all over. Although the rooms were non- smoking. Finally had it changed but rooms are compact with basic facilities and bright white lights . No aircon in the rooms so it’s very stuffy and would have to leave the window open but that brings in the noise from the road. Only good side was the breakfast .

Excellent value for money, cheaper than a B&B or guest house, so no major issues, on a lighter note just one thing No Marmalade in the breakfast room !! I mean has the world gone mad ? ... Excellent room and comfy bed !
