Fantastic stay all in all. Would highly recommend and will be staying again soon.

The location of the property was fantastic. A matter of minutes walk from the centre, the nearest tram stop and the train station. The staff were fantastic. Went above and beyond. The rooms were clean and the view we had was fantastic.

The beds were uncomfortable. We woke up the next morning with the worst neck ache from them.

Disappointing stay with poor service, long waits, and not worth the money.

When we arrived, the hotel couldn’t find our booking and tried to charge us again even though it had already been paid. The room was missing basic amenities like soap, toothpaste, toothbrushes, and there was barely any toilet paper, so we had to request them. At dinner, we waited 40 minutes for a chicken burger, and when it arrived the chicken seemed frozen and very hard. The manager came to check and agreed it wasn’t good, so they remade it, but we had to wait another 25 minutes, which was very frustrating. Overall, it was definitely not worth the price.

A poor show

Quite a lot Firstly they didn’t have any brandy in the bar you would expect a hotel bar to have a good selection of drinks Secondly no room service when we asked we was told to order uber eats to the room? How bazar!! The room didn’t have any complimentary water The to remote didn’t work so we couldn’t get to use the tv And the bed lining was rough like sand paper.. there’s no mattress protection on and you can feel the springs in the bed Overall we wouldn’t be staying there again

A disappointing stay in a lovely hotel

The location was ideal and the staff were friendly. This booking was for my parents who only stayed for one night and didn't have breakfast. Ate in the restaurant thought and were impressed by the quality of the food and the effort the team went to to make it special.

The room was very cold in the night and despite having someone look at the heating my mum slept in her coat! They checked in late (12pm ish) and immediately requested pillows from reception that were missing from the bed. The pillows had to be requested again and eventually arrived at 1:30am. It was a super busy weekend for the hotel but looking at this stay alone it was a poor experience. my partner and I stayed the same night and had no problems. Bad luck.

A lovely festive, central stay

The hotel was very busy with people and the staff were clearly busy and some were stressed but despite that service was always given with a smile and they went out of their way to make our stay special. The hotel itself is standard rooms but elevated by the excellent location and on site bar. The swimming pool is again pretty standard but the heat/ice experience that you also get access to is excellent.

The hotel was super busy as it was the last weekend before Christmas so we had to queue every time we needed anything. Check in took 20 minutes despite us doing it online before we arrived, the keys to the room stopped working so we had to queue again to get them updated. It wouldn't have been a problem if the hotel wasn't so packed.

Disappointed

Central location ideal for theatres

The room was ok except the shower leaked all over the floor and no toilet roll holder. Bed was uncomfortable and old. Our room needs total refurbishment. At the bar in the evening the staff member poured 2 white wines then didn't wash out the measuring cup before filling it again with red wine totally unprofessional . Breakfast quality of the food was good and hot but the restaurant area was so cold the food had gone cold by the time we got to eat it not a pleasant experience for the price Definitely not 4 star hotel. The staff and management needs to be seriously reviewed

Disappointed room not ready on arrival at 3pm but was quickly resolved by the Reception Supervisor.

Room was really spacious, we were upgraded to a suite as our room was not available. The bathroom was very spacious and the bed was really comfortable it was also a really quiet room which was great.

Our room was not available upon arrival at 3pm which was very disappointing given we had plans for both dinner and event at the Arena and had been stood up on a train for 1 1/2 hours. The bedside lights were not connected as I believe it was a newly refurbished floor and as such we had to put all the bedroom lights on which are either 'all on' or 'all off'. A coffee machine was provided but only 2 pods which again was disappointing. Just provide a kettle if you can't supply more pods.

Tired, lack of care and a shell of its former self

The location - literally it

I’m from Sheffield and used to manage a competing hotel in the city, and about 10 years ago this place was always the gold standard. So for my girlfriend’s 30th weekend, I got her family to stay here thinking it would be spot on. Really wish I hadn’t. The pool was closed when they arrived on Friday, which was the main reason they picked the hotel. We came down on Saturday and things didn’t improve. Staff were uninterested and unprofessional, rooms were tired, and the general cleanliness was honestly shocking. The whole place is desperate for a facelift. Breakfast was the worst part – dirty tables everywhere, and staff not even in uniform, covered in beans. £145 for one night with breakfast… you genuinely expect more than this. Such a shame to see how far it’s dropped. I wouldn’t stay again until they sort the basics out.

Bathroom, particularly the shower, smelled overwhelmingly mouldy. Carpet and bathroom weren’t very clean. Sat in the bar area for 30 minutes and no one came to take my order.

wouldnt stay again but Duty manager was lovely on speaking to her

unfortumatly there was a convention on and the hotel was full of comic characters dressed up sat on the floor all over reception, leaving mess and very noisy

Very poor

The location was very good and situated in the heart of Sheffield so it made it easy to get around. The reception and bar area were well maintained and cleaned giving a nice welcome when entering the hotel.

The room was not as advertised on Booking.com which was very disappointing, a junior king suite is very different to the pictures provided as this is all in one room not separated as the pictures suggest. The amenities were not the same as listed with a number of them missing from the advertisement. The room was also dirty and didn't look like it had been cleaned for a long time, the staff were also rude when questioned about these points.
