Nice location, comfortable bed and quiet.
Unable to control hot/cold water for shower and bath, didn’t find out till the morning !!! Also toilet flush was intermittent. Hotel evening menu was only serving half of the food advertised.

Only thing good was the fact we got a room
The floor was not clean when we entered our room for the first time. As we were a later check in we were given the “special needs” and accessibility room which for the night of valentines killed the mood awfully. In the pictures it shows you all the nice rooms you could get but nothing like the one we got except for the final image of the disabled bathroom. There was mold on the ceiling and the room was very crampt for 230£ I get it being valentines so the prices are higher but for the room we should hae gotten money removed. We had to complain to the front desk on the night and got told to wait till the morning to see the manager, when we did we got 50£ removed which I still do not think is enough. And a free upgrade to a mezzanine for next travel. I’d rather just have the larger refund but it is fine. I would not recommend this hotel unless you plan to check in very early and you feel lucky.

Regarding the hotel, I loved everything about it, especially the money voucher to use in the bar for not having housekeeping everyday - not necessary & helps the hotel with their "green" protect the environment rating.
Breakfast was lovely - fabulous choices, where applicable perfectly cooked & all encounters with staff was lovely; they were polite friendly & very helpful.
My issue is with booking.com for not having accurate or up-to-date information with regards to nearby parking facilities & discounts given to park when staying at the hotel.
Booking.com sent us to one that is no longer discounted and cost us £40 !!
I have no comments to make here. There was nothing that I could say I didn't like about the hotel.
I thoroughly enjoyed my weekend stay at this hotel.

Breakfast room a bit small more like a works canteen

Room 119 - the soap dispenser in the bathroom had fallen off the wall. The toilet flush is a bit dodgy.
. Layout of the room - I nearly bumped my head on the spiral staircase. The bed right near the top of the spiral staircase

Excellent location right in the centre of Sheffield. All the staff we met were incredibly friendly, eager to help and seemed to love their jobs! The hotel itself is in a lovely old building, bit with modern fixtures and fittings. Our room was on the 2nd floor round the back of the hotel (there is a lively square on one side, so if you're there at a weekend and are bothered by noise its worth requesting a quieter room) and it was very comfortable. Good beds, very clean, good noise insulation from other rooms/corridor. Excellent value, I'd definitely stay there again.
Our only small negative was that the shower water was absolutely scalding hot and we couldn't use it as a result. We told staff on checkout and they immediately sent maintenance up to fix it, so I'm sure that if we'd been there more than one night it wouldn't have been an issue.

It was very clean and well maintained. Lovely room and very comfortable bed
My room overlooked busy restaurants and bars which would have been fine but there was very loud music coming from one of them until 1am which made sleep hard. I understand that the building is listed and so double glazing would not perhaps be an option but felt there should have been a warning for guests as that would have affected my booking the room at all.

Very helpful staff. Arrived later than planned after long travels in snow. Ben on reception was super helpful and provided something hot to eat despite being after 9pm. The bedroom was warm and welcoming and a nice hot shower. Reception check out staff just as pleasant. Great value for money. Was impressed and will definitely stay here again!
It was a bit of a walk (6 mins) from the car park but you expect that with a central location. I guess in bad weather with bigger cases than ours to carry it might have been less convenient. But fine.

The location is near the city centre . You can find cafe , supermarket nearby. The room is clean .
I got the split level room , the top level is warmer than the one below . It seems that providing mineral water is not a norm in UK hotels .

Close proximity to venue and nice reception staff
On arrival we were given the mezzanine room which we didn’t request despite reception claiming we had we would never have split level and upon booking didn’t stipulate mezzanine room. We were offered alternative on 4th which was acceptable, room satisfactory. Following morning went for breakfast which was disappointing - staff not helpful and no customer service. We had to request plates for food twice, no mugs for tea or coffee and upon asking waited a good few minutes when staff brought out tray of mugs and passed them to me and said help yourself I had to put them in stacking tray??? No milk available or normal tea only earl grey available?? We requested marmalade twice nothing arrived hence reason if were to stay in Sheffield again would not pay for breakfast or even choose alternative accommodation.

Friendly staff, good location, warm, clean and comfortable room. Good breakfast.
We had a view of a brick wall from the window but it's bit a complaint because all the positive points make up for it.

Great location good hotel comfy beds and nice large bathroom
Receptionists were very disinterested and not as friendly or chatty as we would like
8.0 / 10.0
The location was perfect for my needs. The staff were welcoming and hospitable and provided fresh milk on my return when I asked at reception. The bed and linen were very good quality and comfortable. I received a free upgrade which was very welcome as I needed to take a meeting in the morning online so it was great to have a spacious room.
I had a room at the front and the tram was very noisy at night and in the morning, it disturbed my sleep. I found the lack of amenities in the room to be penny-pinching. Although there was a small sticker in the bathroom stating that you could telephone reception for basics including conditioner, cotton wool etc, I found that rather unsavoury. At this level of a hotel I would expect at least a small amenities pack without having to telephone. Also the squeezy hand soap and shower get on the wall felt cheap and unhygienic. The water was in cans which was off-putting, and no biscuits were provided. All these touches cost just a few pounds, but would leave a much better impression. The room was very clean but tired, it needed a deep clean with grubby carpets and black silicone in the bathroom.

Amazing location, so central, we had a deluxe double room which was lovely. Staff were great. We parked at the recommended car park and reception validated this for us. I didn't have breakfast, my husband said it wasn't great - so I would recommend going out for breakfast.
Breakfast wasn't great, and you had to pay extra for it

Central location in a historic building.
Room was spotless.
Staff were nice and friendly
Reasonable price
Unbeknown to Me I was given the last room available, which was a disabled access room . Now for someone with additional needs it would perfect for them, but for Me it kind of took the shine off the stay a little bit. The bathroom was large but not particularly welcoming as being a large tiled area it was a bit cold, the sink was nigh on knee height which wasn't ideal when Your over 6 foot tall.
The room itself was a bit on the small side as was the bed.
This is by no means a negative review on the hotel as it is a lovely hotel, it was just unfortunate that this was the room I allocated.

Hotel was great, room was really good and bed comfy
Tram just around the corner to take us to venue (quite crowded though) but that was to be expected.
Staff at front desk and at breakfast were lovely and helpful.
The only thing was the man running the bar when we got back from concert was really miserable and not very friendly
Apart from that hotel and location were really great and would definitely recommend

Friendly staff and great location and building has lots of character and history.
I stayed at The Leopold many times when my daughter was at University 8 years ago. The rooms are starting to look a little dated now.

Mainly the location, easy access to the city centre.
For my partner who's asthmatic, we were unable to open any windows or figure out if it's even possible.
So we ended up going outside in the rain a lot of the time for fresh air.
