An ideal independent hotel.

Bed was comfortable and the heating controls actually worked (unlike many of the chain brands) and you can open a window too. It is idea for guests visiting the university or hospital.

The hotel is very clean yet they use chemical 'air freshener'. This stuff is vile and the last thing it does is make the place smell fresh Fortunately the hotel have windows to air the room. Stop using this rubbish team.

Comfortable Hotel, lovely staff

The staff were very helpful and friendly. When we arrived at 8:45 in the evening they immediately told us that the kitchen was still open and happily went down to cook us something even though the restaurant was empty. Pizza was delicious. Breakfast was great, good selection.

Hotel is a bit tired in places, but that's what you expect for the money. I found the bed much too firm, and it impacted my sleep, although my husband found it ok.

First and last time I’ll be staying

Some of the staff are lovely.

Hotel is very out of date doesn’t look anything like its pictures anymore. Room was full of dust and there was cobwebs on the shower. Bathroom floor gets soaked from the shower and there is no way of stopping it.

King size room was good. Bed comfy. Room temperature good. Shower very spacious and good pressure. Staff helpful and friendly. Parking good and reasonable. Good breakfast provisions.

Only one towel supplied in a room. Booked for two. Key did not work had to return for another. Room bin not emptied from previous guest. Small coffee and milk provision.

I like it unique quality. The room was lovely The location was spot on for our needs. The staff are lovely. So friendly and will do anything to help. Alison and Hayley gave us ideas on places to visit and things to do

Bathroom had clearly been upgraded and was good. Friendly staff.

Corridors, stairwells and the bedroom were tired and in need of decoration. The pillow was flat. Continental breakfast was lacklustre - cheap croissants lacking crispness.

An experience and not in a good way.

Cold outside but hotel nice and warm. Cooked breakfast nice.

Smallest room I have ever stayed in. Run down. Shower tray was a strange raised thing. Bathroom floor ended up swimming. Sat in dining room conservatory, crumbs all around windowsill. Hotel gardens resemble a jungle. Full hotel seen better days.

Friendly stopover close to the University and Hallamshire hospital

This is a good hotel for a short stay in Sheffield, and we have stayed here before. This booking came with a free room upgrade. I was expecting a slightly bigger room, lovely to have been put in a suite! Friendly staff, great breakfast. Reception doubles as a small bar in the evening, and you can take your drinks to the lounge.
