Room felt neglected it was hair in the refrigerator, and just dirty in small different ways and smelled like pee I would not stay here again

Worst hotel room I've every stayed in. The bathroom ceiling was covered with brown spots, the caulking on the bathtub was black, the shower head was rusted as was the drain. Of the 3 toiletries in the shower, one was missing and the other two were bashed in. Thin, small towels. Bathroom floor tiles were loose. The full length mirror looked like there was a bullet mark in the frame. I get this is an extended stay property but could you at least maintain it? Still waiting for my refund.

Upon arrival, I was greeted by the two women at the counter. Both of them were amazing! They were the best part of the stay because they were so polite and accommodating. However, I realized that the hotel smelled like cigarettes. This smell was all throughout the halls. When I got to my room, it had a much more pleasant smell, but I did see and kill several roaches in the hotel room and in the bathroom. There were also no dishes of any kind in the kitchen area and the water at the kitchen sink didn't work. In the bathroom, the area on the cabinet (next to the toilet) had not been cleaned. There were splashes of something all over it. The shampoo, conditioner and body wash containers in the shower were empty and extremely old.

Location was good. Hotel has an odor in hallway and room, just didnt smell clean. Walls and carpet was dirty. There was no kitchrn supplies and no extra roll of tissue for bathroom. Bottles of shampoo and conditioner and body wash in shower was empty. Bathroom mat was stained. Hotel needs a revamp. It does not live up to the other Sonesta hotels ive stayed at.

This location is in poor condition and looks nothing like the posting. It smells and it’s dirty. We entered the room and it was freezing cold despite the window being open. The screen was busted and the outside tree was coming in the open window. I fixed the screen and locked the window. Neither of us wanted to sit on the furniture because they were filthy. I booked through Expedia and wasn’t informed there was a $100 check in fee until we arrived. Our stay was only for a night and I would never stay at that location again. I wish there was a way to add pictures.

Absolutely Disgusting – Stay Away I’ve stayed in some questionable places, but Sonesta Simply Suites Detroit Southfield takes the cake for being the most revolting hotel experience I’ve ever had. The moment I walked into the room, it was clear this place had zero standards for cleanliness or professionalism. Let’s start with the bathroom — there were bugs crawling in the tub, which immediately made me question when the place was last cleaned. Then I noticed dried puke on the wall and hair tangled in the towels. Not a stray hair. Not two. But a nest of someone else’s hair twisted into what was supposed to be a “clean” towel. I had prepaid for a specific room — larger, more expensive — only to be told at check-in that it was “accidentally” given away. Instead, they shoved me into a smaller, cheaper room and shrugged it off like it was no big deal. No refund, no upgrade, not even a sincere apology. To top it all off, the receptionist casually mentioned someone told him that working here looked bad on his resume. And honestly? I get it. If this hotel were on fire, I’d still recommend sleeping in the ashes over booking another night here. Do NOT stay here. I wouldn’t recommend this place to my worst enemy.

The room I was given had used gum on the back of the lamp, rust stains were on the floor lamp, and burn marks were on the nightstand. The ceiling in the restroom was broken from previous water damage, and towel rack was plastered back on the floor wall and the shower curtain had stains on it. The picture on the walls’ frame was broken in places and put back on the wall. The plastic cover for the hvac had a hole it. The carpet in the room looks to not have been vaccumed well in a while. Both lamp shades were cracked and just left on lamps in there place. The paper towel roll had 2 pieces left. The back to the remote was missing so someone taped the batteries back in. The sitting chair was stained badly and had threads coming out, the office chair had big rips in it like Wolverine had been in there. The refrigerator sounded as if it was going to shake away from the wall or explode. Stains on the headboard and kitchen drawers. Almost any surface that could be chipped was. The smell of Marijuana no longer stayed in the hall way after 2 hours and started to come into my room triggering my coughing. There were cobb webs and caked on dirt spots everywhere. And the side entry/after hour door is as about 4 to 6 room from mine and at no point does it lock. Good things about the room was staff is friendly, the tv worked and the key worked.
