Very poor, miserable, cold

The location is very central for Douglas

It was freezing in the room, the wind was blowing & knocking the windows coming straight through. Couldn’t have a shower - water was freezing. Breakfast was awful, asked for kippers, got one & it was cremated just couldn’t eat it. Restaurant was deadly silence all you could hear was people eating. Staff were not interested, mentioned the cold & the reply was it’s even colder in here pointing at the restaurant!

Very convenient location near to the ferry terminal, main bus station and promenade. Graciously served at breakfast time - full English or variation thereof. Large comfortable clean room and bathroom with excellent and responsive heating. Great coffee Nespresso machine! Bed very comfortable!

Everything was good except for poor wifi in that room (excellent everywhere else even just outside room door). Some other suggestions perhaps ..... a microwave in the room. One doesn't always want to eat out. Use flat plates for main breakfast rather than a bowl-type. Only the full veggie or English breakfast available for tenants, though menu included other even cheaper items, seemingly unavailable? e.g. Manx kippers Fix flashing light on second floor corridor.

Great location and value, basic but clean.

Great central location, staff were friendly and helpful, room was clean. Good tea/coffee facilities in bedroom. Good value for money considering the price of other hotels locally.

Was quite shabby and dated overall, needs tarting up a bit (new carpets, lick of paint, updated furniture in rooms etc). There was no mirror in the bedroom and no bath mat, which are minor things but would be quick fixes. Definitely not ‘boutique’ so shouldn’t market itself as this - a decent budget hotel would be more apt.

Clean, comfortable, warm with great views and close to all that Douglas has to offer

Close to the centre of Douglas lots of things to do on the doorstep, easy access to ferry and great views over the harbour and bay. The property was clean and the rooms were large with a comfortable bed, great breakfast and charming staff.

The rooms were very warm but that was also a plus point, stairs a bit narrow and a bit of a warren to find your room.

The bathroom problems particularly didn’t make me feel very comfortable

Nearness to Douglas Centre. It was clean and staff friendly nice touch providing slippers.

Room was cold on entering and I had to turn radiator on. There was a cold draught through bedroom window. I couldn’t get any heat on in bathroom. The bathroom window had no blind and I felt very exposed with the light on. Noise outside from Christmas party goers was loud going on to 2am but I can excuse that as it was near Christmas!

Comfortable room

The staff are friendly and attentive. Beds are very comfortable and the room was very clean. Communication prior to check in was excellent. Check in was smooth and easy.

The adjacent building works are particularly noisy. This of course is not the fault of the Hotel however a pre-warning upon booking would be beneficial. The room was very clean and comfortable but could do with a bit of colour and more decor, some of the furniture looked a little lost though this did not detract in any way from the comfort. The tap water in the bathroom was very cloudy but bottled water was provided and I easily requested some more.

Smaller room than we’ve previously had for same price, which was slightly disappointing. We had a friend who stayed on her own the same night as me and my friend who shared a room and she said her room was much bigger. Little frustrating as there was one of her and two of us and we booked back in September. Light outside in the hall flashes and has been since we last stayed in September,

No fire escape at end of corridor, or extinguisher, wardrobe freezing , no working fan in bathroom , seats in dining room uncomfortable seen better days , only 1 chair in bedroom , missing door on sideboard , no mirror on dressing table , no biscuits . Bed lights too far from bed . Ripple in carpet lack of sockets . Hardly what you would call Boutique?

Spacious, comfortable, warm with a beautiful view of the Douglas Bay. The room had everything I needed. Very good breakfast and coffee well presented. Poached eggs cooked to perfection.

Amazing!!!!! The BEST hotel in Douglas

My partner and I absolutely loved our stay at Opul Boutique. Our room was immaculate and so comfortable. The staff were always so friendly and happy to help. The breakfast was made fresh everyday and was always delicious! We enjoyed our stay so much we booked again as soon as we returned home. Thank you for having us :)

Breakfasts was excellent. Access straightforwards. Assistance to book taxis was easy via the front desk. Staff friendly and attentive. Room comfort, size and tea/coffee & water spot on. Good value for money.

Would have preferred a sea view rather than a side view over a building site and the non sea view wasn’t clear on the booking which is important for a sea front Hotel.

Unparalleled views and comfortable living in IOM

Best location in town if you are arriving by Ferry from other parts of UK. Very good breakfast selection. We had a sea view room and it had views from multiple windows. Everything we wanted to do in the city was within walking distance. Shopping, food & drink establishments were less than 5 minutes walking distance from the hotel. Staff were very friendly and helpful with any questions we had. We will recommend this to all and will stay there on our next visit to IOM.

The Opul hotel group seem to be focused on satisfying their customers.

The hotel is part of the Opul group and there are 2 others situated along Douglas promenade. Upgrade/renovation seems to be happening to all 3 hotels. Check-in was smooth and efficient. Room was large and clean. The bed was super king size and very comfortable. Breakfast was very good and set me up for the day. It consisted of assorted cereals; tea; coffee; yoghurt and prunes; passion fruit; kiwi fruit; toast; full English breakfast. The staff were efficient and friendly. On the basis that mishaps do occur from time to time, I relate mine: One morning water started coming through the bedroom ceiling from the floor above. On reporting it to staff, they had us moved out to the Opul Express hotel further down the promenade. They even arranged for a free limo to transport us to the other hotel. Our room at the Opul express was equally pleasant and had a sea view.

Across the road from the Opul boutique hotel a large hotel is being constructed. I was under the impression that builders worked somewhere between 8am and 6pm. That building work continued through the night. In many respects the water leak was a blessing in disguise as the Opul express hotel was completely silent.

We had a fantastic stay! Arjun is an absolute gem—he went above and beyond to assist us, from recommending great restaurants to managing our late check-out request. The room was spacious and equipped with all the essential amenities we needed. The hotel’s location is very convenient, just a short walk from the ferry station. Overall, a solid 10/10 for the staff and their flexibility in understanding and accommodating guests’ needs. Highly recommended!

Pleasant short stay

Stayed here for two nights with work. The hotel is right on the front and I had a sea view room with large windows which was really spacious. The bar area is really nice and great service.

There is no food available in the evenings which meant I had to go out when I didn't really want to. Also, although the rooms are really spacious and clean, there was a lot of empty space.
