Fabulous location close to Town and accross from the sea. Staff on reception was super helpful .
The hotel rooms are tired and in need of updating. The furniture is the same as it was 20 years ago and it’s showing age. The bed was uncomfortable with bad springs. The shower valves were really stiff and difficult to turn on and off . The sink was cracked and crazed. Housekeeping every third day not daily .

Location and friendly, helpful staff. Comfy bed.
The hotel is tired. Carpet was threadbare in places.

The location is great, free parking a bonus considering the sea front location. Like many big old seaside hotels some of the communal areas have lost their sparkle, but the staff are exceptionally helpful and everywhere is clean and tidy.
If you are training to swim the channel then the pool is not really going to be for you, but if you fancy a bit of a splash about it is good enough and a nice way to spend half an hour or so.

Dated, excellent location with bonsai asian kitchen on one side and frank Matcham’s close by as well.
Proper heating .
Room was tired looking . Water feature outside room operated at 451am which woke me up . Pillows were flat and mattress was hard.
Sofa on room 270 smells. Staff at Reception and bar were excellent!

The room was specious and very comfortable. Disappointed to find no where quiet to sit with a drink from the bar in the evening. Only a garish, noisy with thumping music bar designed for young people. Went in for 5 minutes, noted it was empty before retiring to room.

Great family suite. Allowed good privacy for teenage grand children. Included breakfast good. Location perfect
Room very very hot. Not able to get any fresh air. View of close-by walls from every window. Dangerous steps between rooms and bathroom. Badly needs updated. TV tiny

Had a problem with the lack of heat in the shower..housekeeping sorted the problem that day. Excellent. All staff in the hotel are lovely.
That the bar wasn't open on Xmas Day evening...but I understand that. Not enough plug sockets in the bedroom especially around the bed area where you would want to plug in your mobile phones.

The hotel itself was lovely, it had a great bar and restaurant
Our room wasn’t very good. It’s very tired looking and needs a good ref. Ferb I think a few of the others had nicer rooms with sea views but we had a window got overlooked a concrete block but on the plus side it had a bath iron ironing board and tea and coffee facilities

The room was lovely and big comfortable bed liked the fact there was a sofa the like the balcony but balcony was good but I missed seeing outside, wasn’t keen on the hot breakfast there never seemed to be any bread to toast. Did not like the fact the there was no cafe or restaurant or food for guests the 2 eateries that’s were attached to hotel were expensive and I was disgusted with the ribs (tried to spot the meat) also as I was travelling alone felt a little uncomfortable sitting in a cocktail bar.

The hotel was spotless, rooms a little dated but comfortable. Very helpful staff and central seafront location. Good breakfast and lovely Asian restaurant- Bonzai. We would definitely stay again. Sadly, we didn’t have time to use the leisure/ pool facilities on this occasion. Handy for the Gaiety Theatre which we were visiting.
Rooms a little hot at night!

Staff were great. Breakfast was very pleasant. Bedding great quality.
Couches in suite were too low. I really struggled. No Wifi in room which scuppered my opportunity to work. Fridge in room didn’t work. Could close window properly as I was too short.

The location was superb, close to the town, the ferry and many nice eateries. We found it a great starting place to enjoy the island. The lady in reception (Claire) was lovely, she gave us some great tips on local places to visit and she got our curtains and bed fixed before they were both needed :) Claire spoke to the deputy manager about the breakfast, and had to tell us there was nothing that could be done.
Having a bath in the en-suite was fantastic.
Our first night was awful, every time one of us moved in bed the noise was terrible, the curtains were hanging off the rails and the light coming in around the door lit up the room all night.
The breakfast - oh my goodness - what a disaster. I am a vegan, and every customer I saw who went to get their breakfast used the same tongs for bacon, sausages, black pudding, hash browns and anything else they could pick up. I raised this the first morning, but was told there is nothing they can do about it, so I was not able to have a hot breakfast throughout our stay. I did some toast, they only had Irish salted butter, again I asked for an alternative, I was informed that they do not have any other type, so toast was off too. My hubby who eats anything did have the breakfast, he said everything was tasteless. The black pudding was not cooked properly on the first day, he gave it another try on day 2, but said it was so dry. The bacon was chewy, the sausages were flavourless, as were the apparent free range eggs, the hash browns were over cooked.
The coffee from the machine had no taste, it was like drinking hot water, by far the worst I have ever had.
The facilities in the room were nice on the first morning, but once we had used the coffee sachets they were not replaced until Thursday, apparently they only do the rooms every 3rd day, this seems pointless as the bedding & towels were changed for one night, as we had a 4 night stay. This does not seem to be very eco friendly, and not having movement activated lights in the bedroom corridors is such a waste of electricity too, as they were permanently on.

Excellent breakfast ! View and presence of atrium balcony
Small car park with small spaces

Junior Suite overlooking the atrium allowed us to relax after our day time activities. Location was ideal as we had tickets for the Festival of Choirs which was at the nearby Villa Marina, only a few minutes walk away. Delicious buffet breakfast served in a lovely room overlooking Douglas bay. Good choice of optional extras eg poached eggs, kippers. Enjoyed a stroll along Prom before breakfast.
If you're staying over the weekend the nearby car park in Chester St is ideal as it's only £2.70 for all day on Sat and £2.00 for all day on a Sun and that includes overnight parking ( you do have to go and put the ticket in at 8am! but as it's less than 10mins stroll away from the Sefton it wasn't a problem for us.
Only a minor point, some of the areas needed a bit of a face lift.

It’s a good hotel that is unlikely to disappoint. Yes it could do with a lick of pain in places but it’s comfortable, well priced, has friendly staff and is ideally located.
