Doubt we will stay here again after that experience.

Lovely staff waiting on at breakfast particularly the 2 black women.

We went to use the spa on our last morning and were told quite rudely we couldn’t as we had already checked out. This wasn’t stated to us at any point during our stay. It was a massive inconvenience as my husband hadn’t showered after his run, planning to shower before using the pool. I have stayed in several spa hotels and you are always allowed to use the facilities on the day you check out. This was very annoying.

A bit tired in parts, but adequate accommodation and facilities for a short break to watch the rugby

Breakfast was excellent and efficient. I come here once a year to watch the rugby fixture so the rooms need only to be adequate, which they are and a twin room for £35 per person per night is good value. There was a new bar area from when we last visited which was a welcome addition to the casino area.

To be honest the majority of the hotel is tired and in need of serious refurbishment. But that is reflected in the price. As long as rooms were adequate and the breakfast was good, that is all we needed

Lovely swimming pool and surrounding area - steam room etc.

Room backed onto car park therefore no view. Bathroom very dated in need of updating. Service at breakfast was slow, on several occasions I had to ask a member of staff to clear a table. Long wait for poached eggs. Stairwell to swimming pool in need of refreshing - paint work pealing off walls - very tired looking.

Great stay beach front rooms with balcony is a must with brilliant views of beach and see and prom lovely place for long

Position it’s in good location friendly staff well good cleaners good room service nice food

This is just for your help the main walk through to from reception to the lifts smelled of mould it’s the area as you get off the lifts to looks bar where vending machines are That’s only criticism other then that the place was lovely this isn’t a put down just some helpful advice

Cold shower not very good

It was easily accessible

I could not get a shower or bath as the water was freezing cold. I went down and spoke with the night manager and he assured me that the water had been put on at 3am and I should keep the water running. This did not improve and I informed the manager when I departed at 6am

When entering the hotel the smell was awful, carpets smell very bad, lifts smell awful. I actually took air freshener from my car and sprayed the carpets in the lifts. They need cleaning it’s a simple remedy.

BWH Palace Douglas Stay.

Room was comfortable good location as i was attending a function.

Issues in the bathroom. The shower had a mind of its own. It kept spraying the ceiling and hot one minute, freezing cold the next. Bath had what looked like sawdust in it.

Location is great and Lookies bar is nice and up to date

On arrival we noted out room was smelling of B.O. we were given a bottle of airfreshner to spray in the room. We ordered room service 2 of the mornings and both times it was look warm, the beans were the only thing which was hot. Saturday morning we awoke to have no hot water for a shower and had to be somewhere at a specific time which was far from ideal. We went to have dinner in the paragon restaurant on saturday evening where the waitress was far from helpful. She actually rolled her eyes and seemed totally uninterested when showed us to out table. We decided not to stay for dinner after this. After staying here for 4 nights every year for the last 5 years, this will be out last and find another hotel on the island.

Breakfast was good and the occassion I had to have lunch there was fine.

Probably the worst room i have ever stayed in. I wasnt feeling well on arrival so I unpacked, had a quick lunch and went to bed for a couple of hours. I then noticed the view at the rear of the hotel , overlooking the entrance canopy with a view of air conditioning units fire escapes and beer barrels. The toilet would not flush. subsequent experiments found that it flushed if I turned on the cold tap first . Unfortunately the cold tap was permanently hot which made brushing my teeth interesting. The bed was good but only just fitted into the space. Double room ? Dont think so ! The carpets were pretty threadbare, but this extended to the corridors outside my room as well. As I was only there for three nights and I wasnt feeling great I informed Reception about the plumbing problems but declined the opportunity to change rooms as I couldnt face packing and unpacking again. The plumbing problems remained to the end of my stay, as did the view !!

Fabulous place and great hotel

Location was excellent, we got a room with a sea views. Breakfast was plentiful and very good 👍🏽, staff’s friendly and helpful and plenty of them, room was nice and comfortable bed, teas coffee biscuits in room, was easy to walk, trams, buses and trains to places, we had a wonderful Ruby Wedding Anniversary with complimentary wines too 😊. We would definitely stay at this Hotel again, thanks to all the staffs, oh the Chinese restaurant is excellent too.

Never again! Needs total refurb!

The whole experience was beyond disappointing. It was our first time visiting the Isle of Man, we were visiting for a family celebration. The hotel was beyond basic, was not of a standard that aligned with how much we paid. It smelled old, stale, dirty worn carpets, tired, worse than a budget pontins. This hotel needs a complete and utter refurb. We went up the elevator to our room, the smell of damp , stale food and years of unwashed threadbare carpets, dirty rooms. We literally could not get out quick enough. We had to find alternative accommodation at our own expense! It wasn’t cheap either. The only reason I have given it a 3 rather than 0 is because the poor staff having to work there with such a positive nice attitude.
