Poppies Flats

Beautiful, clean apartment. Great Location within a few minutes to Menin Gate.

The facilities were fantastic and Bernard was a wonderful host. We asked if we could possibly borrow an iron and less than 5 minutes later he had dropped one off for us. You could not ask for a better location and I would definitely stay again.

Only thing was that it came with only one toilet roll and when we ran out it was a religious holiday which we weren’t aware of so most of the local shops were closed but we managed to get some in the end and it was quite a fun adventure actually.

Well situated, very comfortable and absolutely spotlessly clean.

Just needed a bread knife and a spatula int he cutlery drawer- everything else was great.

It is a self catering flat, so we provided our own breakfast, or went out to eat in a nearby restaurant.

Just 2 things took my score from 10 down to 8. Firstly the room blinds were venetian blinds (admittedly in black) but they were inadequate to block out the morning sunlight, especially in summer. Secondly, the TV didn't work. Usually this wouldn't matter to us, but we happened to land on an England World cup match day! We phoned the host about it that evening when we discovered there was no reception whatsoever on the TV but he was largely disinterested. This was Poppies Flat One on the first floor.
