Brilliant stay, excellent accommodation, great hosts

Gîte de Lombard is a clean well renovated and maintained property within easy walking distance of Ieper town centre and the main railway station. The accommodation is on the upper levels of a three story town house and on top but separated from the owners own property which has been extended on the ground floor The interior is modern in design with well equipped with modern facilities, namely Kitchen, toilet and shower etc. The lower ground extension has allowed the owner to place a large and secure outside seating / dining area. Despite being modern in design it has subtle traditional aspects such as exposed and treated light wood floors, doors etc with small artistic pictures detailing historic aspects of Ieper before during and after World War 1. Beds are comfortable which, on our stay, consisted of two doubles and two single beds. One double is contained within its own bedroom. The second is also in a large room but has an open stairway leading up to two single beds contained in the attic area. The street it is located is quiet and clean. There are also town bicycles for those who wish to cycle around Ieper town and surrounds Sven and his son are attentive and helpful and both have am excellent command of English. Highly recommended.

THERE IS NOTHING I / WE CNA MAKE NEGATIVE COMMENTS ON . THE FOLLOWING IS ADVICE. For those who have walking / mobility issues. As mentioned the property is on the upper floors and access is via stairs, There is no disabled access for wheelchairs or those with poor motility that require stairlifts.

Property was wonderful, exceptionally clean walking distance into Ypres. We had a wonderful time and were highly impressed with the proprty and the owner. Good communication with owner prior to arrival making entry very easy. would recomend it to anyone.

A Great Stay.

This apartment is spacious, well equipped, clean and has a great outside patio. It's in a good location with free parking very close by. The owner is friendly, helpful and attentive. We've stayed in many properties in Ypres and all have been good, (bar one which is no longer available). This apartment probably represents the best overall of our stays when taking everything into consideration.

A perfect stay for 4 nights in a top location

The accommodation was one of the best we have stayed in- very clean and comfortable and decorated to a high standard. Everything we needed had been thought of, and the beer in the fridge on arrival was very much appreciated! The location was perfect- just a short stroll to the main square. The bikes were an added bonus!

Wonderful friendly hosts, awesome apartment. Use of bikes a bonus, as this is a walled town, it is nice to be able to use these to get around. Great neighbourhood. Love the cobbled streets. The apartment is very stylishly appointed.

Just need to plan ahead as can't park directly outside. Smaller bags are better as need to be able to lift them up the narrow stairs.

Amazing property that we would love to return to. Spacious accommodation that had easily enough room for our family of 5. Having bikes to explore was a bonus. The property was in a great location, and we walked into the centre of ypres several times.

Great property. I loved the sun terrace which is fantastic to relax in. Sven was really helpful when he met us and was available if we needed anything - which we didn't. The beds are really comfortable.

Fantastic stay at the beautiful Gîte de Lombard

Apartment had everything you could possibly need. Felt like a home from home. So clean and welcoming. Great location, less than 10 minute walk to centre of Ypres. Very quiet neighbourhood.

There wasn’t any negatives about the property really. If I was being really picky then the staircases after long days of sightseeing did take a toll on the legs, but the style of house means steep staircases and we knew this from the pictures. There literally wasn’t any negatives.

Prachtig vakantiehuis in het historische centrum van de stad. Het huis wisselt moderne componenten af met historische oude elementen. Ook de herinnering aan de Groote Oorlog is in elke kamer discreet aanwezig. Alles is ook heel dichtbij. Menenpoort, Lakenhallen en station zijn op nog geen 10 minuten wandelen.

Prachtige lokatie in een rustige straat dichtbij het centrum van Ieper. Supermarkten, bakkers en cafe's op 10 minuten lopen. Appartement is ook echt compleet, staat een lokaal bier in de koelkast, Koffiebus vol, vaatwasblokken, kruiden en specerijen, Bertolli Olijfolie, doucheschuim, en dergelijke volop. Ook bijzonder smaakvol ingericht.. met mooie verlichting..

Top!

Top locatie! We werden vriendelijk onthaald door de zoon van het gezin. Het was een prachtig pand en alles was voorzien. We hebben niets gemist. Leuk ook dat er fietsen waren. Deze hebben we zelf niet gebruikt omdat het huisje in het centrum van Ieper gelegen is. In het huis lag ook veel info over wat we konden bezoeken zowel binnen als buiten Ieper. De kinderen vonden het spel regenwormen zo leuk dat we het zelf al maar besteld hebben. :-) Bedankt voor dit leuke verblijf!
