RideSide Hotel

The only staff member we met was Joshi (my apologies as I've probably spelt your name wrong) who was very pleasant, attentive and accomodating. He assisted us with locating suitable parking nearby, was always available in the lobby whenever we arrived or exited the building. The hotel is secure, key entry only after check in. The room (Triple) was small but very clean (lets face it all rooms in these types of building are small). Shampoo and handsoap provided as well as numerous towels, and extra blankets in the wardrobe. Room was a good temperature (in July) and although the decor is old in style it was tidy and complete. Shower was good for pressure and temperature. There is a lift available, although we never used it. Location is very good for Pleasure Beach and South Shore Beach, Tramstop is directly at the end of the road (<2 mins from hotel). Added bonus, a nice cheeky view of the fireworks on the Pleasure Beach from our room, made the little lad's birthday trip complete.

Hotel changed name between booking and visit, so I think key things I expected changed in between. Photos on booking.com do not at all reflect the current venue, it has been redecorated and rebranded externally to reflect the new RideSide name (previously Pleasure Beach hotel, and prior to that Dalston hotel.) this also shows it USED to have substantial free parking and the photos very much focus on this, on arrival you will see the bays are now marked in yellow and being run by a parking firm for a daily charge. (My main reason for booking this specific hotel was the proposed ease of parking - this has now been updated on the booking.com website to reflect the charge) What I assume used to be the breakfast room is now advertised as a curry house restaurant, fantastic curry smells throughout the hotel - fine by me but if you don't go for that, then I guess it could upset some people. We hadn't tried to book breakfast anyway. (The Velvet Coaster Wetherspoons is nearby for breakfast, and there is a Morrisons Daily about 5 minutes walk away) Tiny gripe - No hairdryer in room as advertised. Rooms could do with a few more sockets.

It was close to the train station and pleasure beach. Owner was very friendly and welcoming. Clean and tidy rooms.

Beautiful clean hotel staff were superb smooth check in felt comfortable and welcome ...situated in an ideal location short walk to pleasure beach and promenade overall fantastic stay will definitely use again.
