Absolutely stunning - full of character and traditional architecture. Surrounded by a beautiful garden and so warm and cosy for a winter stay. The room was grand and spotlessly clean - and dog friendly too!

Absolutely superb place - service was magnificent. Super accommodating and helpful with my toddler. Easy to find, just off the motorway. Rooms are spacious and comfortable. Showers are great. Couldn't have asked for a better place to stay for the night. Highly recommend and will be coming back for sure!!

I wasn't aware the continental breakfast was included until confirmed by the owner (likely a booking.com issue).

Breakfast was ok. Staff were welcoming on arrival but …

…Could have done with staff on site after 7 as we had to complain about a very noisy guest who let their kids run riot for HOURS up and down the stairs and slamming doors. Emailed/messaged the hotel and we were told they had advised the guest to be considerate but this had no effect. Hotel could have been better soundproofed and had silently closing doors. One of the plug sockets was coming away from the wall too, making it very dangerous. Only realised this when trying to remove my phone charger. Location wasn’t good as there were no pavements in any direction so we couldn’t walk around the area, you would have to drive anywhere you wanted to go.

I loved the fact that you could bring your pet into the room. Brilliant idea.

The room furniture and bed were extremely comfortable and dog- friendly for access to the gardens. Relaxed and friendly atmosphere for any time access to the coffee lounge for drinks and breakfast.

Unfortunately our CoachHouse room was beside the busy road outside so noise made it impossible to have an open window for fresh air, but with the window closed it was quiet enough for sleep.

It’s such a beautiful place that deserves an amazing review. We stayed for two nights. The first evening was to celebrate an anniversary of our own and the second evening’s stay, followed a day of celebrating the wedding of friends, at the nearby Little Fox venue. Prior to arrival, booking communications and pre-check in were conducted by a gentleman called Lawrence, who was very helpful and accommodating. On arrival, the house and grounds were quite breathtaking and even though it was a dull and rainy day, this did not detract from the beauty of the surroundings. The interior of the house is outstanding and has been sympathetically and respectfully maintained, having regard to the history that the house holds. Lawrence happened to be there when we arrived and greeted us with a warm welcome. Our room, Water Iris, was stunning, beautifully decorated, spotlessly clean, warm and inviting, as are the communal areas of the house, which are open for all guests to use. We were wished a happy anniversary and gifted with a bottle of Prosecco, which was unexpected but very much appreciated; such a lovely touch. The bed and pillows were exceptionally comfortable, resulting in two pleasant nights of sleep. Breakfast is self-serve, which was great. There were plenty of staff present to attend to anything we needed, along with a hospitable and warm morning greeting. It proved to be a really nice and relaxing breakfast experience. For a continental breakfast, the choice was unbelievable. There was such a varying range of quality breakfast options. It was impressive. All in all, Mere Brook House offered a perfect and idyllic stay and I will most certainly want to return in the future. I would highly recommend it, for either a special celebration or to just enjoy a rural escape. Thank you to all of the Mere Brook House Team.

The house was lovely and the grounds were fabulous. The room had everything we needed. We went to the Red Fox pub which was very good

The lack of choice at the breakfast

Gem of a place, hidden away in peaceful grounds. Great staff and all areas were very clean. Room was a great size, with a huge, comfortable bed.

Location was great!! Especially for easy access to Birkenhead ferry port, the Wirral and Liverpool. Excellent facilities in the coach house which is a separate detached building from the main house (which itself is so impressive inside). We stayed in room Flora (ground floor) with easy access to the gardens and patio area (great for our dogs). The coach house also has its own lovely lounge area and kitchen/ dining room 👍🏼 There's also easy parking and lovely grounds surrounding the house. The 24hr complimentary Continental Breakfast was superb 👍🏼.. which was great for us as we arrived late. Will definitely want to stay again ♥️

Only observation I could make (but NOT a complaint) would be that you can hear some road noise in our room .. but nothing terrible.

Big comfortable bed, big rooms, clean

Lovely spacious room nicely furnished fluffy towels comfortable bed. Lovely decor throughout the house. Breakfast very nice help yourself fruit yogurt cereals bread/toast preserves cereals.

Flies in the room at leat 10 dead & about 15 flying about all night this disrupted our sleep we understand it is in the countryside but insect screens should be on windows another lady was bothered by ladybirds If no flies would have given it excellent review. Insect sprays would be of no use as my wife has a respiratory problem.

Loved the setting. Room was lovely. Cleaning staff that we heard singing funny and very helpful.

Really comfortable and lots of excellent facilities. Great value.

I like to be able to block out all light when I sleep but this wasn’t possible in the room we had so sleep wasn’t perfect.

It’s a lovely property in a great location - and just a few minutes from loads of great places. The Balcony room is our favourite: plenty of room and a splendid bathroom.

Help your self breakfast - good quality product.

Fabulous place to stay. We had a lovely, large room overlooking the garden. This was the perfect location for visiting Port Sunlight and Liverpool. The staff are wonderfully friendly and helpful. The self-service breakfast is a real bonus. There’s a great pub just up the road for evening meals.
