Pleasant and clean hotel with character rooms

Disappointing

Ideally located in the centre of liverpool.

Granted the price paid was inflated due to there being a liverpool match & it was valentines weekend. From the outside the Adelphi Hotel looks very grand but inside was very basic, dated, old fashioned and in serious need of tlc. After getting back to our room at 11pm our window was wide open ( we'd been to the match, it was snowing & we were freezing) No phone to call reception so we had to go down I was told someone would come. 30 minutes later we had to go and ask again. When he did come i asked for a heater for the room, he agreed but never came back. My sons first words when we got our room was that it was a bit creepy.... make of that what you will 🤷🏻‍♀️

Would not stay here again!

The location was absolute perfect but that was about the only good thing.

It was one bad experience after another with this hotel. It took about 25 mins to get checked in as they only had one member of staff on the desk (we could hear 3/4 chatting in the office but they didn’t come out to help). The room was barely clean with dirt on the walls and floor and extremely old fashioned. The mattress was very lumpy and felt like it was 20 years old and the headboard wasn’t attached, just propped up against the wall. The heating was on full blast and the windows seemed painted shut. My partner nearly broke the window trying to get it open. Our friends were in another room and when they complained about the heat and asked for a second pillow (there was only one between the two of them) they were brushed off and told there was nothing that could be done. After asking a second time on day 2 of our stay we eventually got them to turn off the heat in the bedroom but that bathroom was still on full blast. Check out was at 11 but from 10am a woman was banging on our door telling us to pack up. At 10.30 she walked into the room without knocking and told us to hurry up. It felt like we were being kicked out of a homeless hostel. After checking out we asked at reception for a piece of sellotape to seal up a package for the flight home and were told no. I’m normally happy to stay in a basic hotel for a city break as we don’t tend to spend much time in the room but this hotel was beyond basic and the rudeness of the staff was unacceptable. I can’t think of any other hotel that I would refuse to stay in again and I have stayed in some pretty crap ones while backpacking.

It’s a beautiful , grand, historic building, bed was comfortable, and room lovely and spacious with loads of storage .staff very helpful ! we was with a large group of us and they made sure we were all on the same floor . Also bottomless brunch was brilliant, so much selection of drinks,also the food was random but really nice , never had a stew at a bottomless brunch but was lovely. Breakfast was nice too. I will definitely book to stay again !

The Adelphi is a decent hotel for going to a Liverpool football game. It is quite dated, but it does the job and the all day happy hour is acnice bonus.

We have been 6 times this year. My son loves it. Perfect location & a lot of beautifully hidden areas in the hotel. Already booked to go again & we have only just left. Staff always try to accommodate where they can to make our request happen. Mostly being able to have a view of the city from the higher levels of the building.

Communication with cleaning staff. We have done the elite package 3 times for a 1pm check out. And those 3 occasions the doors been banged or staff walked in asking why we are still in the room at 10am. Which spoils the whole point of a late check out.

Overall 6/10 which for a 3 * hotel is very good, well done to the staff.

The hotel is dates back to the 1915 era and in its day would have been splendid. However given it pure size to maintain this as a high status hotel would be very expensive and run into multiple millions. So what did I find, great staff, clean, once you get over the age and wear & tear issues it offers good value with a great central location. Happy hour in the bar is great, buffet breakfast well organised and plentiful. The room again was dated but the en-suite was large and refurbished. The bed was a little uncomfortable. Easy parking but a little walk which in bad weather is ?? Overall I was happy, will be staying there again.

The wave bar, they gave happy hour all day until 7pm, very reasonable prices until 7pm

We only had 2 small bedside lights which were quite dim, when the sun went down there was barely any light at all. There was 1 small mirror high on the wall, which was a waste of time. Water didn’t get hot, we showered in Luke warm water. No change of towels in the 3 days we were there, bins in our room weren’t emptied, we asked for bags to do it ourselves but they were so thin they split when you tried to put anything in them. The main bar closed around 11.30pm you could move to residents bar but there was only toilets in the main bar which they locked, you then had to go to your room to access a toilet, we were on floor 5 they had 2 lifts, 1 was out of order, the other was really slow, could take 20 minutes just to go to the loo. We paid £523 for our room for 3 nights. We were 3 older ladies, 60s we wouldn’t recommend this hotel, we checked out other hotels close to the Adelphi where we would stay if we ever go again.

A tragic fall from glory

Beds comfortable, rooms clean.

This once magnificent jewel in Liverpool's crown is a sad shadow of its former self. Like an elderly dowager fallen on hard times, and suffering the indignities of age, neglect and incontinence (literally; the now shabby entrance hall stank of urine! The receptionist explained that there was a leak in the ladies' loo!). And not cheap, either!

Location is great

recently stayed at the hotel and, while the room was quite small, it was fine for my needs as I was only using it to sleep. However, there were a few areas that could be improved. I requested an extra pillow which unfortunately never arrived. I also found that information about where things were in the hotel wasn’t clearly explained, and the reception staff seemed a bit disengaged, they worked through the queue efficiently but didn’t note down requests or follow up on issues. There was also some confusion around parking. Although the hotel is advertised as having parking, I ran into problems paying for it because my vehicle wasn’t registered on the first day. Staff didn’t seem to take ownership of resolving the issue, which was disappointing. Overall, the stay was adequate, but I’ve had better experiences at other budget hotels, such as EasyHotel, where the staff were friendlier and more helpful, and the value for money felt better.

Advertised as free parking, receptionist took & apparently recorded my car Reg. but I received a £100 parking fines week after my return. Under appeal but not yet resolved. Booked direct with hotel but later found that I would’ve reduced the cost by 1/3 if I’d booked with booking.com.

Central I'm a frequent visitor with my autistic son, even though I live in huyton not far from Liverpool city centre, it's a lovely place to stay and the history behind it makes it all the better.

I can only say that I'd love more pillows which isn't a big deal

The shower flooded as the drains where blocked, the beds are very uncomfortable the pillows feel like your sleeping on bricks and none of our windows opened so when we got back our room was 1000 degrees because they had the heating on full whack, not worth the £160 I paid for a night what a joke

Toilet in reception area smelled disgusting. A mixture of damp & drains. The decor in the hotel room was very tired. Some paper was peeling. The bathroom had paint splashes & the sealant looked liked it had been applied by an absolute amateur.

The hotel is very dated and has a feel of being grubby. The bedroom was roasting hot which meant that I had to open the window - I didn't get any sleep until 4.00am as it was party central outside. My shower was blocked and flooded the bathroom - I reported it but nobody appeared to look at it. The breakfast was just about ok but the tables did not even have a table cloth on them. The front of the hotel is littered with cigarette butts and I went to complain about people vaping in the front hall but one of them was security!

Not as bad as we had been warned, but still very mixed.

Great central location with Mount Pleasant £6 per 24 hours car park very close.

Had to move room twice. First because shower filled up with water from running the tap in the washbasin! Moved to a smaller and uncomfortable room. Bed was very lumpy and we got very little sleep that night. Changing to a third room the next morning was more difficult than it should have been. Had a nice apology when we suggested moving in the morning and asked to come back between 4 and 5 pm. When we came back a different receptionist said we should have done the change earlier and was a bit difficult. However he did give us a reasonable room quickly enough. The last room was ok. In the first bedroom, there was a very old bath which was constantly running but this was accompanied by the updated shower, which would have been ok if it hadn’t filled with water as mentioned.
