Shambhala was a blissful end to a magical stay in Zipolite.

Claudia welcomed me like a family member. I felt immediately at home. The view from my room looked onto the beach. I could watch the sunrise in privacy from my balcony. The sound of the ocean rocked me to sleep each night. A short walk and I was on the beach. The restaurant associated with Shambhala is excellent.

My bathroom was without water for a few hours in the morning. It was only a minor inconvenience and quickly resolved.

Beautiful family, incredible home, gorgeous views, you won’t regret this one.

A hidden gem!!! I absolutely love this place. I felt as if I was in my own little fairy cabin hidden in the hill overlooking all of Zipolite beach. The lookout spots for both sunrise and sunset are immaculate. Peaceful, tranquil,, this place rejuvenated my soul after a bit too much partying in Puerto Escondido. The family is incredible. They are all so kind and welcoming and you can feel the love they’ve poured into this sanctuary. Wonderful and friendly dogs too. I also had absolutely 0 problems with my bed, it was really comfy. Please stay here, they deserve every penny and you will love your stay.

I can see how a rustic cabin in the forest might not be everyone’s cup of tea…it can get a bit chilly at night and there are mosquito nets for a reason, but if you love nature you’ll love this.

This is a home away from home where the ocean and the staff become your family.

This is a place that once you check out, a little part of you is changed forever. Do yourself a favour and experience the magic that is at Shambhala Vision. Safe, secure, friendly, lovely. I was emotional to leave.

Having a mat on the floor near the bed to dust the sand off before getting in would have been perfect.

Best Sunset/Sleeps/Views in Zipolite, the most charming family/staff to share it with

I stayed three nights at this property that is recovering from the hurricane with its alluring design and flora still in tact. Shambhala was the first property to grace Zipolite with its presence and the layout and sense of space is pretty magical. I felt like I was with family as I got to know Claudia, Maria, Maru, Quetzal, Alex...etc., when I realized this IS a family, taking excellent care of its guests while rebuilding from Hurricane Agatha. The room that I stayed in was out of a Greek island, boasting THE best views of the beach, the very best sunrises, and a quick hike to Meditation Point for glimpses of the sunset. There is ample space to stretch out, some prime beach property at the foot of the hill with chairs and full service (and offering spa services), and again, getting to know this family, coming together, rebuilding, it's pretty special. Can't wait to go back in May. Loved it and can't recommend enough.

Wifi in my room was spotty, this is not rare in Zipolite, and it was nice to take a break. I also didn't like that I couldn't stay forever. : )

Me encantó el acceso es directo a la playa; se encuentra a punta de pie del mar. Es entendible que por la cercanía de la naturaleza hay mucha flora y fauna por lo que sí hay mosquitos e insectos, incluso alacranes sin embargo es parte de la experiencia y vale totalmente la pena. Por otro lado, a pesar de la fauna, la anfitriona siempre es muy atenta y siempre está en las mejores condiciones el alojamiento. Me hospedé con unos amigos en el mes de Noviembre del 2025. El mar se puede apreciar desde la habitación en la que te encuentres, hay un mirador muy bonito igualmente para ver el atardecer. La zona es bastante segura, a pesar de que nosotros llegamos en la noche no hubo ningún inconveniente. El mismo alojamiento tiene su restaurante, o si lo prefieren en los hoteles aledaños también sirven buena comida. La vibra del lugar y en general de la playa Zipolite es muy bonita. Sin duda volvería a hospedarme aquí. Igualmente, el precio y calidad 10/10. Sí pueden haber mosquitos o insectos, pero en cada cama hay una mosquitera que no falla, y totalmente impecable el lugar, disfruté muchísimo mi estancia y eso que soy una persona miedosa con los insectos. (:

Si bien el trayecto para llegar puede ser algo complicado (porque es de difícil acceso a pie) el alojamiento vale totalmente la pena.

Vista espectacular, comida deliciosa y estancia muy agradable.

Es un lugar privilegiado con la mejor vista de la playa en Zipolite. La calidad y la calidez de la atencion brindada por los encargados del lugar te haran sentir comodidad y bienestar. Los desayunos, las comidas y la cenas son verdaderamente gourmet con ingredientes super frescos y un ambiente relajado con vistas espectaculares.

En lo personal todo me gusto! Si no te gusta subir escalones el acceso a la playa tiene un par de minutos de escalones para llegar de la habitacion a la playa.

Kommunikation schlecht, Lage falsch angezeigt, Heruntergekomme Zimmer, Mückennetz sehr löchrig wurde 2 Mal gestochen, Viele Bauruinen auf dem Gelände, Wenn man mit dem eigenem Auto anreist ist das Hotel kaum zu finden da die Feldwege nicht in Google Maps eingetragen sind. Kein WiFi im Zimmer.

Hermoso lugar para descansar y disfrutar con el sol, el mar, la montaña y la gente.

El hotel está ubicado en una de las dos puntas de la playa de Zipolite, tiene una vista privilegiada y una naturaleza maravillosa en todo su entorno. Es un sitio muy especial, tienes que visitarlo para sentir la pura vida que tiene el lugar.

El hotel ha pasado por 2 huracanes en los últimos años, es un emprendimiento familiar por lo cuál la inversión en el mantenimiento es intensa y todavía tiene algunas áreas que están pendientes de remodelación.

Nos encantó la ubicación, tiene una vista maravillosa, la habitación superó nuestras expectativas por lo que pagamos. El personal es muy amable, está muy cerca de la playa y el diseño del lugar es muy bonito y creativo.
