The views are beautiful. Staff is friendly.
Maintenance needed in common areas....clutter, clean up area at bottom of stairs near parking, windows and doors need caulking to keep out insects and lizards (can se daylight around doors and windows, wiring done with just electrical tape, walkway ends at a height near pool, plunge pool water was murky and bottom and walls had algae and slime. Lighting in plunge pool was flashing...not restful. Coffee maker didn't work. Dog nips.

The Manager was amazing, pool was great. Room was clean and spacious. Will defiantly return to Casa Biulu!
A bit of a walk for me as a asmatic in the heat. It is on a hill.

We had a wonderful stay at Casa Biulú! Lucia and the staff were so warm and welcoming, and they were always a bright start to our day. They were communicative and helpful throughout our stay, too. Casa Biulú has a truly spectacular view looking out onto the ocean and Zipolite. The pool with lounge chairs was a refreshing, relaxing spot to cool off and enjoy said view. The daily continental breakfast was appreciated -- hot coffee, fresh fruit + granola, and cornbread... plus, if additionally desired, chilaquiles/omelets/juices/etc. Our room was spacious and comfortable -- clean, fan/air conditioner if it got too hot, a terrace with hammock, mini fridge, coffee maker, good Wifi, and bathroom with a decent shower. We love that this is an eco-friendly hotel managed with solar-powered electricity (not only sustainable but also helpful in case of any power outages, which intermittently occur in Zipolite). While it is more expensive than other options in Zipolite, the amenities, comfort, and exceptional service were worth it. We are so glad we chose Casa Biulú for our first time in Zipolite, and we would definitely stay here again!
It's a bit of a climb to get up to Casa Biulú, but nothing too intensive (...a solid daily workout, if you will!). The linens could have also been a little nicer but were still fine enough for our trip.

Lucy was so helpful in finding an airport transfer for us from Huatulco, it made our life so easy.
And the room had an AC in the best location, because it was so necessary with the heat. I also loved that the location was up on a hill where there was breeze, and quiet at night.
The staff was so caring and made delicious meals for us at breakfast.
I wish there was a desk in the room because I was working and I had to DIY a setup.

This place is a NO...
What you get for what you pay, not worth it. The room was not properly cleaned, bathroom is not fully closed, so even if you want a drop of privacy in there, you won't get it. From our room you could hear everything from outside (and vice-versa). They offer a breakfast, but is so basic that almost counts as nothing; plus the first day they told us what was included in it, and mentioned fresh orange juice, but by the day we were leaving, it turns out that was an extra and was never mentioned, owner and manager of the hotel were not nice at all and demanded the payment of that, even if the mistake was from them and they were aware of it...
There are multiple other places in the area and even closer to the beach, with lower price and offering better service, cleaning and nicer staff. We spoke to other guests and we all had the same um comfortable experience.
Additionally, if you need invoice from your payment, they take ages to have it ready to you and comes with mistakes and you have to be chasing them for corrections...
A place to never come back...

The room was incredibly comfortable with exceptional attention to detail. The infinity pool was an absolute god send on such hot days
Not really a dislike, but it was about 10 mins from the beach up a hill. some people may find this an issue

Tiny simple breakfast. It's possible to order some fried eggs etc. with it.
Steep climb to the house from the main road.

The hotel itself is really, rooms are really nice, gorgeous view. Staff super friendly. They use solar power, which is truly forward-looking in this area.
No internet in the bedroom, and not because the internet in the area was down or anything like that (which I would totally understand), but because the signal didn't reach my room.
Also, it's not okay to charge this much for a room but charge 5% extra for payments with card. I wish at least they would have let us know this when booking, and not through an email 10 mins before we arrived, so as to arrive to Zipolite prepared. Last, but the breakfast was also not acceptable for a room this price, bread wasn't even roasted.

Amazing view of Zipolite, the ocean, the sunrise and sunset. Frederica, the owner, and staff are extremely nice, accommodating. Fresh coffee, variety of fresh fruit, yogourt, granola, eggs, toast for breakfast. Nice refreshing salt water pool. We stayed for 23 days, had the opportunity to stay in 3 different rooms, which were all very comfortable, and clean; rooms with balcony and hammock was soooo nice and relating. Very quiet. We saw whales in the ocean a few times while having our morning coffee! You’ll get great exercise during your stay lol, as you walk down the hill going downtown, but walk up coming back lol; first few days was a bit difficult but got easier and easier! The view is just amazing from Casa Biulu!
Nothing to complain about !

The salt water pool is incredible and the views make the hike well worth it
I personally love to sleep with doors and windows open so I missed having a mosquito net over the bed- but the air conditioner works very well

Great hotel! great location on the hill. A nice climb up from the main bit to be high on the hill, the view was stunning. Federika (sorry if I misspelled!) is lovely although I had trouble communicating: my fault for having terrible Spanish and even worst Italian! This hotel has A/C and hot water, a rarity in Zipolite! Will stay again for sure.
I stayed during a festival and I think room prices were quite high, as everything was sold out. The rooms could use a little upgrade, and I would have liked it if there was a simple breakfast menu / or even breakfast included. But other than that, everything was perfect.

It is much quieter than the beachfront
The pool is salt water so no chlorine.
A/C worked well and solar panels provide electric.
The hotel is located up a steep road with many steps to the spacious rooms.

The hotel was excellent. The pool has an amazing view. Paloma who was running the hotel was extremely helpful and gave us lots of helpful tips that made our stay in Zipolite much more enjoyable. Thanks for everything. We'll be back.

The attention of the staff was incredible . They helped us with so many things. Breakfasts by the pool will be remembered.
The hotel is up the hill, and for my wife, who has a problem with her hip it was strenuous climbing up. Yet she did that.

The sea view!
Luck of staff with customer service skills. Room was invested with ants and other bugs. The receptionist did not allow me to pay with my debit card, instead of she asked for cash which I ended up paying.

The infinity pool was kept clean and nice lighted, make it very especial. The view is amazing, and the customer service is excellent. Justina is a great host. VIP treatment.
The road to it. But I understand it's not the Hotel's fault. The location is great, a walking distance to the main streets, stores and restaurants.

Beautiful hotel with an amazing location, nicely decorated rooms and a gorgeous pool
Unfortunately our stay was spoiled because our room started to stink of raw sewage after we had a shower in the evening. The smell didn't go away and was so bad we couldn't sleep so had to change rooms at midnight. Apparently something to do with their hot water pipes - really disgusting. To make things worse, no apologies or anything from the staff after this.

Loved the room and the pool.
The dog that barked most nights right outside our room and bit me once and my spouse once as we walked by. Also, the staff was difficult to interact with and very distant. We are bi-lingual, English and Spanish, and the host speaks Italian and was only there the first day. The staff remaining was mostly either workers, who worked right outside our room, and kitchen help who would only acknowledge us after we flagged her down, and, on occasion, left our plates on our table into the afternoon from breakfast. For most of our stay, we were the only guests in the hotel. The internet worked at times, and the food bill at the end of our stay was not only incorrect but inconsistent in how it was documented and scribbled down on a notepad in a random fashion.
That said, none of the staff was rude in any way. The workers were very polite, but the kitchen staff clearly had no hosting experience. They were fine once we had their attention, but, sometimes they were not even in the area in the first place.
