The facilities are great, the kitchen is great, lots of chill spaces and the pool.

It’s quite good actually, best mattress I’ve ever slept on and nice pool. Friendly and social vibes too
The brown haired receptionist wasn’t very friendly

We really liked our private room and the facilities here. Great price and staff friendly. Lots of restaurants and bars nearby. Around a 30 min walk / 10 min taxi to other areas such as La Punta etc too
Unfortunately we had a 2.5 day power cut when here (no wifi, air conditioning, lights etc). Not the hostels fault, and then did offer the opportunity to cancel the booking :) it would be rare/unlucky to happen again!

Angela, multilingual and a physiotherapist, though only a volunteer, not only kept the place in order, but handled numerous crises with aplomb. From a broken water pump at midnight on a Saturday, to a tourist with a possible concussion from being slammed face-first to the hardpan bottom by one of Zicatela's notorious waves.
I think it's high time she was paid for hervtalents and obvious contributions.
The stove needs to be replaced. It needed to be replaced 3 years ago and it has only gotten worse.l in the interim.

Great location and lovely staff. Nice outdoor spaces including the pool. Room was clean and had a kitchen which was nice.
Faster more reliable internet would be great. A cleaner should at least empty the bins daily, I stayed for 3 nights and the cleaner didn’t come once. Bed wasn’t very comfortable. Warm water available from the afternoon due to solar panels.

The pool is excellent ! Complimentary drinking water is a big plus.
A convenient location.
I only experienced cold showers at this place. The draw lockers for personal items in the dorms are too small and you have to unpack your bag to fit things in. That wasn’t thought out well.
People talking late into the night in the dorm room was annoying but that’s not the hostel’s bad…

We really enjoyed everything! The private room is very spacious and you have a lot of privacy, but then also the opportunity to interact with other guests in the shared kitchen
The decoration and overall vibe were really cozy, we ended up extending the stay 3x :)

The location only
The administration and lack of clear description of the hostel not a hotel! Expensive for what it is. Lack of privacy and peace. A hostel is for backpack travelling not for holidays! Noisy and crowded

The private room was spacious and you could park the car outside without any problems. Very clean!
They call the private rooms "a suite" but they are actually just small apartments. The swimming pool is to be shared with everyone. No big deal, but a photo of a swimming pool accompanied by the name "suite" creates a false impression.

The manager was really friendly. There was filtered water in the kitchen and AC in the room. You also get a towel without any additional charge. I also liked the terrace with hammocks and the bed which was clean, comfortable and with a light and a space to charge.
I found the kitchen to be nasty, I wouldn't like to use it. The bed curtains are sheer so you don't get privacy as expected. There is only one bathroom for 10 people and when someone uses it, the people on the nearest beds can smell it...

Exceptional accommodation. I felt at home straight away. The staff was super nice and always available. If not at front desk then always on whats app (no 24 hours front desk, but felt very safe with the door locker) The rooms and bathrooms were very clean. Nice pool, and comunity area. You can see the ocean from the rooftop terrace. Very Close to Zicatela where you can watch the famous beachbreak. Extending was very easy (did it three times) And all for a really good price. I would come again any time.
Curtains would be nice at the beds.

Loved our stay at Casa Daikiri. We had a private room with a super comfy king size bed. All around the property is beautiful. It is a social atmosphere but not noisy. My perfect vibe! Thank you!
Only thing was it took a while to get hot water but I think that is pretty standard there

It’s a really nice place! The staff is also great. I liked our time there :)
I liked everything except blunt knives in the kitchen but this is really small minus

Great facilities: big dorms with plenty of space to put stuff, lockers, reasonable beds, AC, clean and nicely styled bathroom including a hot shower, a well equipped kitchen, lots of common areas to chill and meet other people, and a pool that seemed nice (though I didn’t try it).
The staff was very committed and helpful: it took me a couple of minutes to figure out how to open the front door (with a digital lock for which they provide instructions on the day of arrival) and before I knew it (and before even being able to get in touch with the provided contact number) the owner was right there on a scooter to let me in. They live close to the hostel and are available 24/7 for questions. Also the staff (who are on site during the day) can help with booking tours, renting scooters, getting a taxi and so on.
The atmosphere in the hostel was great: really social but nothing too crazy (not a party hostel when I was there). I don’t often write reviews but this place just really stood out to me for the facilities and staff and you get good value for money.
Only downside may be the location: the hostel is at walking distance from the sea but if you are in Puerto for surfing or swimming, having to travel to other places to be able to do so may be an inconvenience. Yet, it’s really easy (and cheap) to get around with colectivos or renting a scooter. And if you’re here for partying the location is great, as Zicatela beach clubs where it’s all happening are at walking distance.

Location was good. All in walking distance: restaurants and bars, beach, etc.
Comfortable!
Lack of privacy (room was directly in front of the pool. Considering the glass walls)

I loved the energy there, it's like a little community and the hosts are super friendly and helpful with every guest, the beds and pillows were super comfortable, I was able to cook just fine in the kitchen my room had and the place is really respectful with the noise at early and after hours so you'll be able to sleep perfectly.
When I booked I didn't see there was an additional tax I had to pay at my arrival, so be aware of that, in my defense that info is a little bit hidden. Also you have to pay cash or PayPal but with the latter you have to pay 5% more.
The internet failed for a short time but the owner was very keen on getting it fixed.

The room is really big and includes your own kitchen, bathroom and a kingsize bed. This is very practical, because it gives your the freedom to make your own meals if you want to stay in and chill at the pool.
The location is perfectly situated between the Zicatela market (5 min walk) the Zicatela beach (5 min) which also offers a variety of night life options. Transportation is easy to find if you want to discover other beaches or enjoy dinner in one of the hip restaurants in La Punta.
If you need any help with recommendations, transport or tour reservations, the staff (Clare & Jose) are always ready and happy to support you. Jose knows Puerto Escondido and the surroundings really well, provides helpful and quick explanations and has good local connections.
All in all, Casa Daikiri offered us a relaxing stay.

Wonderful spot, super close to cafes and the beach. The room was cleaner than I thought, especially the bathroom, and the bed was really comfy. The staff here are really nice too. Definitely recommend this place.
There was a bit of noise from a pool party downstairs one night that went on until 5 am. Unfortunately, the room's soundproofing wasn't quite strong enough to completely block it out.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at Casa Daikiri in Puerto Escondido, and I must say, it was an absolutely perfect experience from start to finish. From the moment I arrived, the warm and welcoming atmosphere of the property made me feel right at home. The pool area and lounge spaces were perfect for relaxation.

This is a well located hostel with a pool. It was very hot in Puerto Econdido so the pool is much needed. Very spacious dorm with lockers and a kitchen right next to it on an open air terrace. Very nice.

Great place to stay with super friendly staff - I arrived very early and I could leave my luggage, they offered me the possibility to take a shower as well. Also, the staff gave me a lot of tips and answers regarding how to get around Puerto. The pool is decent and pretty big, a great place to chill during the day. There are a couple of chill zones in the whole place. There's a space to hang your wet clothes. The kitchen is pretty simple but for sure it is equipped enough to prepare a simple breakfast or lunch. In the neighborhood, you can find a lot of grocery stores and restaurants. The beds are spacious and comfortable with curtains so you can have some privacy. Sockets and a small lamp are next to each bed.
Sometimes WiFi wasn't working at night. During my stay, there were some problems with water in the dorm and kitchen but I think it was resolved the same day. The water in the shower wasn't very hot and the pressure wasn't the best.
