I Love This Hotel

Everything was nice at this hotel. It is my favorite hotel in Mexico so far on my one month trip. The staff was great and everything worked well in the room.

The only complaint I have is that the lighting in the room could have been better.

Charming hotel

Charming independent hotel just across from playa panteon. There are lovely garden and terrace areas, some rooms have a sea view. The AC worked well and there was hot water. This is not a fancy stay but you feel like you have gone back in time to a kinder gentler world. Staff is exceptional. Beds are comfy.

There is not much to do here in the evenings.

Great spot in Puerto Angel

La Cafeña is a lovely, tastefully decorated, well-kept hotel just steps from a quiet little beach that's perfect for swimming. I enjoyed having a fridge in the room and the excellent, complimentary coffee in the morning, plus the water cooler in the reception area. The roof terrace and the beautiful plants everywhere add to the atmosphere. Be sure to eat at La Bomba, last restaurant on the right as you face the water.

Tranquil,

The owners and staff did everything they could to make our stay exceptional. They made sure all the extra touches were in the rooms. The AC made the Mexican heat so bearable too. Best nights sleeps I had in Mexico. Cannot recommend this place more highly! Make sure you ask the reception for taxis so you get a better price. Also do the boat tour with Humberto on the beach!

A friendly beach hotel that is great value for money.

It was great to be close to the beach and restaurants yet it was a quiet location so I was able to get a good night's sleep. Having the pool was refreshing after a day on the beach and the hammocks on the rooftop terrace gave a wonderful view of the bay. There are lots of plants around giving the hotel lots of natural life. The owner and staff were all friendly and helpful. There is antibacterial gel and spray in the reception area, the rooms and at other key points in the hotel and guests and luggage are sanitized upon arrival. Another bonus was the availability of freshly made coffee as well as tea available in the mornings.

Lack of Consistency between Booking.com offering and the actual property.

They have quite a few very similar room types and although apparently not a deliberate “trick” my room was downgraded on arrival even though I had paid extra for the better room. When I queried this I was given a shrug of the shoulders (We don’t speak English etc) type of response and had to pay the extra cost for the inferior room.... So my advice is very much to take a screenshot of the room and it’s facilities when you book on the site and insist you get what you have paid for on arrival. As an aside... the “town” is not a resort place at all. If you want to have a drink in a bar or eat a meal or see another human being ! after sunset (6pm -ish)...you will need to take a taxi (100 pesos minimum each way) to Zipolite a few miles up the coast.

Hotel confortable para pasar la noche

La ubicación es muy cercana a playa panteón, se agradece que tenga servicio de Parking ya que es complicado encontrar lugar de estacionamiento por el área; tiene jardineras lindas y todos los servicios básicos para pasar una noche confortable. Buena relación calidad-precio.

El área de parking se encuentra un poco descuidada y el agua de la alberca se veía sucia.

Un rincón paradisíaco al lado de la playa

Es precioso, con su rincón para la lectura, el pedacito de selva y su terraza en la parte superior con vistas a la bahía. Estás muy cerca de la playa.

Quizá las instalaciones están un poco anticuadas. El precio quizá también un poco elevado.
