Fantastic value Near the Beach

It’s a gorgeous property—even more so than the pics reveal. Our room was massive, again way bigger than we were expecting, and we had two terraces (and two beds). There’s hot water and powerful AC, and it’s just far enough from the beach to be chill and quiet. The owners are super friendly and your room is cleaned every day. Alquimista’s beach is less than five minutes away on foot, just down the road.

The hot water is welcome, but can get scalding. There is WiFi but it wasn’t strong enough for a video call. However, neither of these things is a necessity in Zipolite where the goal is to be unplugged (and it’s hot out nearly 24/7).

I didn’t like how the toilet was open inside the room and there wasn’t really a reception or anything so no place to ask questions etc. that being said, the family who owns the place were quite helpful when around and very kind.

I love that is in a very private area but 5 min walk to the beach. Great comfortable room, very specious. the internet was better than in other places I’ve stayed in zipolite. the staff couldn’t be nicer. it felt very safe.

the entrance of the hotel looked unkept and a bit messy. but when I went to my room I loved it. it was just the first impression upon arrival I thought I was going to stay at a bad hotel. they could easily change that.

Magical.

Everything! the rooms were beautiful, comfortable, nice lighting, lovely terrace/ balcony with hammock and seating. such a relaxing, special place to stay, there’s a very friendly cat and dog too! The host is very helpful with a answering questions, always responds quickly, a great service. Close the beach & shops. WiFi is good. we loved this place so much we missed it when we left and came back.

It was ok except for the stinky water, extra charges, no bathroom privacy

No breakfast included, the bathroom had swinging bar doors. No privacy. The water smelled bad. The manager tacked on an extra $150. Above the booking price. The bed was comfortable, good ac, nice layout.

Lovely staff, couldn't have been nicer with very friendly welcome. Beautiful setting set just back from the beach. It felt like lots of little rooms rather than a hotel, with a private deck and hammock to hang out in.

The toilet is in the corner of the room, with a bizarre set of saloon doors (about 1m high) that really hide little from sight and nothing of the smell / noise that comes from a bathroom. Fortunately a well placed mirror means that any attempt at privacy is taken away so that you can happily watch your companion when they are using the loo!!! Very odd and definitely not a hotel if you are in a couple and not comfortable going to the toilet in front of each other.

The hotel attendant was so nice! The room is super duper clean. Bed is comfortable, AC and actually good wifi (which is rare in this town).

Clean room Large split plan layout Cold ac and refrigerator

Very limited hot water for shower. Did not like the plastic mattress cover. Owner has dogs. Cute but expect barking! Room has daily problems of ants, mosquitoes, and flies. Just when you rid them from the room the cleaning staff will come and leave the door open letting them back in. Hotel positioned directly next to the loudest chicken coop in the city. Roosters crowing two hours during the late afternoon and again at 4:30 in the morning—-bring earplugs and bug spray!!
