You get what you pay for.
I liked the affordability, the available kitchen, the hammocks and the views.
I didn't much like the town and what I regarded as unfriendly locals.

Very recommended.
Great location, good views over the port, large well-equipped kitchen, well-decorated and pleasant ambience, Puerto Angel is not super-touristy like Zipolite and Mazunte and has a much more local feel.
The internet does not work in some of the rooms.

Feel good place
Great value. Big room. Good wifi. Easy walk (up and down stairs) to the beach and close to a ton of food options. Super clean - shared bathroom are a hit and miss, and this place was a pleasant surprise. Very cute place - can't beat the price.
We should have stayed more than just a night. ;-)

A hidden pearl
An amazing oasis with hammocks and palm trees around, very beautifully made with attention to detail, clean and tidy, big clean kitchen, wonderful personnel
Maybe only that they didn’t have AC and it was very hot in the room or you had to use a very noisy fan, but it is standard in Oaxaca, and they did have mosquito nets. It wasn’t a problem for us, but you have to take many steps to go up. We thought it was nice because it takes you higher up for a better view and farther away from the traffic. But just in case someone has a problem with it - good to know

A Swell and also Sweltering stay, lots of swimming!
The view is gorgeous. It's very quiet being tucked up the hill a little, and away from any roads. I stayed nearly 6 weeks to complete writing and illustrating a book. Lots of comfortable areas to work or just sit and relax. Met good people, fellow guests of different nationalities and from México. Very close to the beaches so - swimming every day, I bought a snorkel and Mask to really enjoy the tropical fish at the beaches. It's a working fishing town, with some strong smells testifying to that - part of life, Food readily available for any pocket, though a bit more costly than Oaxaca City You can make your own too. Fans in the rooms and mosquito nets, though not many bugs in February. The geckos probably help. The staff are good people, ready to help if necessary, down to earth and awesome. It's close to all the other more touristic places along the coast. There's a top entrance/exit onto a sloping road down to the other side of the town, with a good fish shop, and a butchery and grocery shop...the OXXO, Telcel and Azteca bank, and the municipality buildings. I really loved my stay - thank you.
It's VERY HOT in Puerto Angél and everywhere on that coast. Fans help a lot, but think of it like being in a sauna. Good for you, though sometimes hard to bear. Climbing the steps from the main street up, to get to the hotel was a challenge - in that heat. But makes you stronger.

Go in cooler months
Lovely owner. Good proximity to fishing port beach.
Not their fault, I would just advise that there is no a/c so visiting in May was unbearably hot. Too hot to do anything. Would be great in the cooler months.
