Very cosy, clean and spacious room, very well located in the old city of Lyon!

breakfast is in the fridge and you need to bake croissants/bread - but it was still very nice. The top room with the two single beds has a very low ceiling and the ladder is difficult to get up - not very easy to get in and out

The Postman Delivered!

All hail to the postman who remodeled this beautiful old building with what must have been much blood, sweat, and tears. All the furnishings are of the highest quality and the apartment is right in the center of all that you need. We were offered a safe, dry place to store our bicycles, and the nice host even gave us tools and towels to perform some much-needed bicycle maintenance. He also allowed us to check in early. A plentiful breakfast awaited us in our room each morning, included in the price that made every penny worth it.

It was a really cute apartment right in the centre. Clean, comfortable and all the facilities we could want. I would stay there again.

Wonderful in every way but without the fun and interaction of a hotel with a welcoming onsite staff.

The location in the heart of Old Lyon is perfect, and the apartment is just on the edge of the most riotously noisy area.

My strong preference is for small local hotels with sometimes welcoming, sometimes eccentric but entertaining staff, there to help carry a heavy suitcase up narrow winding stairs and provide a good, solid breakfast with a choice of yogurt, cheese, breads, eggs, coffee, tea, and fresh fruit. I was surprised to find only a refrigerator full of yogurt, fruit, juice, packets of cheese, and an admittedly fancy espresso machine, all “do-it-yourself”. For the traveler who likes a more anonymous experience, the place would be ideal.

A step back in time

This property was set in the medieval quarter of town, dating back nearly 500 years. A worn stone spiral staircase led us to our room, reminiscent of what you’d find in a castle. Inside, the exposed wooden beams—finished by hand with an adze—added to the authentic character, yet all the modern comforts were thoughtfully provided. The location was ideal, just a short stroll from the town square, bars, and restaurants. Staying here was a truly memorable experience.

Great location in the old town. The Loge had everything we needed. It was smaller than originally anticipated, but beautifully restored and cared for. Very happy to have stayed. Easy check in and check out process.

Aussie here, I arrived after 11pm after a long couple of travel days, outside of reception hours, the instructions to access my room were easy to follow. The spiral stairway was a challenge when tired & with a heavy suitcase but you just go slow, it’s part of the charm of this beautiful old building. Room was stocked with lots of snacks and drinks, croissants in the freezer, delicious yogurts and other Brekky supplies! Coffee machine - this was such a treat!

Probably just me but I never did figure out the washing machine, the staff would’ve helped me for sure but I persisted on my own. Just ask the staff - they’re more than happy to help out & we’re happy to speak English!

Gorgeous apartment perfect for a city break.

It’s stunning!! Great location. Beautifully restored building. Room is elegant with all modern equipment. Shower is wonderful. Comfortable beds and super clean. Loved it.

A charming, quirky place. You can see the love and pride the owner has for this property. The free food and drink was a nice touch. Thoroughly enjoyed my stay here.

Very comfortable, great location and wonderful amenities!

This was a perfect place and so comfortable. We loved all the information and details that were provided on how to run the coffee pot, access to the keys, the breakfast details, everything was informative and super helpful. The fans were on when we walked in, there was relaxing music and a calming scene on TV. We needed that. We enjoyed the breakfast and it made it so much easier to get out and start out day. Loved the fans and washer/dryer. This was the best washer and dryer experience I had after 3 other places on our trip. Everything was well designed and easy to use. All the personal touches were so welcoming and helped to make things go smoothly and comfortably. Loved it!

We didn't realize there was an air conditioner until the end of our stay. That was probably our fault but I think having info about that in the handbook would have been helpful. Maybe I missed it.

An excellent few days in Lyon staying at this beautiful apartment.we would definitely stay here again next time we come

The property was in a very good location for the old town, it’s a beautiful old building that’s very quaint & charming. It was very clean & extra thought & consideration went into the apartments facilities. The booklet instructions was very helpful and it was nice to read about the owners passion of buying the building and renovating it himself.

Nothing to dislike, only advice I would give is if you are not so good on your feet this place wouldn’t be suitable as it’s no lift. (Which is to be expected in an old building like this). Also the shower cubicle is quite small so a large person would struggle to use this facility.

Charming Stay in the Heart of Vieux Lyon

We stayed at Le Loge Vieux Lyon for three nights and had a fantastic experience. The location is superb—right in the heart of Vieux Lyon, with easy access to everything. The apartment itself is beautifully designed and very comfortable, with thoughtful touches that made our stay feel special. We would definitely come again!

It is not necessary to provide the frozen croissants, as there is a bakery nearby :-)

We loved everything about this wonderful apartment in the 5th district of Lyon!! The property is an ancient settlement carved into the hillside. I think at one time it may have been a Touboule. The apartment is equipped with everything that you need for your stay. Nice little assortment of breakfast items and restocked daily or as needed. The shower stall is very small but it works well. The water gets REALLY hot, so be aware. The bed is comfortable and large with a futon style couch in the main common area. Plenty of closet space and places to unpack your bags, should you decide to do so. The location is fabulous!!!! Small neighborhood restaurants, bakeries, bars, churches, schools, playgrounds, metro and funicular within minutes. The Rhône River is 2-3 block away with foot bridges to walk to other districts for tourist info and shopping.

It was unique - renovated place in an old building. Location in old town was very convenient for walking and exploring that area . Quiet at night

Car transportation could not access the place directly as it was not permitted, which required transporting luggage down cobblestone road and walking to meet transportation when visiting other parts of the city. Requires climbing old stone stairs. Place had very little natural light, loft bed area had very low ceilings, there was some monitoring light on the ceiling that was disturbing sleep, single window was open to corridor so voices and privacy were an issue (luckily only during wake hours), breakfast was ‘prepackaged’ make your own with items in the room. Check out was early 10 - not realized until someone came knocking at ten! It would have been better to be informed of the special needs listed here.

What a find! The location is fantastic… right in the old town. The building has ancient features, but has been remodelled to be super modern. Breakfast items are plentiful and communication with the owners were quick and easy. We loved everything about our time here.

Perfect location in old town, close to the river. Easy checkin, clean, spacious and good coffee.

Location is about 200m ftom Vieux Lyon metro station. We arrive early and could leave our luggage there before checkin. The host, William was very helpfull and called our next host in Dijon to find out detail about our checkin there. The accommodation is spacious, nice bathroom, good coffee machine and coffee. Breakfast provided. Croissants, bread rolls, yogburt, cereals, cheese, jam and fruit juice. We were 5 adults and the loft room was a bit uncomfortable but still good for a one night stay. Perfect for 2 adults and 3 children.

The apartment was well appointed and had everything we needed. The breakfast food was awesome.

Carrying a heavy bag up the stairs was challenging. The mezzanine 2nd bedroom wasn't quite what we were expecting (no sound proofing) but we made it work.

I loved this location in Lyon. I’d stay here again. But not in the summer season, for me.

This location was excellent, in Vieux Lyon! Many various places to eat within a few blocks, pharmacy, groceries. The apartment was very quiet, as it was off the street. The kitchen set up was fabulous-lovely food and beverages in the fridge, an espresso machine, all very nice!

The apartment was extremely warm, in mid June. The air conditioner was not up to the task of this unit. There are many fans, which we used. The upstairs was too hot for sleep.
